shaddy1k: Hello shaddy1k, If i understand your question clearly Sir, you are asking if cic keeps the record of past employment histories and documents like employment letters, CV's etc and whenever an applicant reapplies wether they go cross check the previous documents/files to be sure both CV's and letters matches. My answer is (NO THEY DON'T) but it's always good to stand with what you have started, if your last application you provided proof of employment and letters supporting it, it's advisable you continue with it and don't alter anything. You can decide to reedit your letters and CV's there is no harm in that, but don't change the employment history you stated on your previous application. I hope this answers your question. Good luck! 4 Likes 1 Share |

justwise:There’s a probability that they are been kept for record purposes but only for a short period of time and so one has to be plain and honest or rather make corrections to previous histories and not deny. NB: just my assumption. |

shaddy1k: In this age of digital revolution, it will be highly unlikely for embassy not to save any information you submitted on cloud. Even the so-called manual application will still be scanned and save on cloud to make it easily accessible and also to save space. However , no one here can tell you if VOs compare the files you submitted against the older ones. Only VOs have that information and I'm not sure if any of us here is VO. I doubt he will divulge that info even if he is here. The only way to be safe even in court is to stick to your original story. I guess that rule also applies in visa application. 5 Likes |

justwise: Boss Justwise! Yes I don't think they cross checks previous documents and letters. The only thing I know the visa officer does is go directly to Global Case Management System (GCMS) file and cross check the previous refusal grounds and Notes made by the previous visa officer. Each application is treated afresh and are accompanied with new application fees. The only details they keep/store/save on their portfolio is the details on the IMM study permit forms and not previous letters. So I don't see anything bad if the applicant decides to reedit or add valuable information he missed in his previous application. Come to think of it, haven't you thought about this: Why is it that some applicants on their first application, they use a Sponspor and claim its their maternal/paternal uncle etc... and got refused. Then, in the second application the applicant decides to change sponspor and use another person with different name from the previous one and still claim that the sponspor is maternal/paternal. At the end of everything, they get their visa approved. If they really go through letters, such application was supposed to be charged for MISREPRESENTATION, but it wasn't. There are large volume of applications and a Visa officer won't stress him/her self going through previous letters.(It's not done). My advise to the applicant is that you don't change/alter the employment history stated on the previous IMM forms, but can go ahead to change/reedit/add their letters and CV's using the same EMPLOYMENT HISTORY there is no harm in that. This is my intake Sir, Any valuable opinion will be appreciated. 4 Likes |

gbemiigbal Chances are slim but not impossible. Are you going for MSc or PGD. If PGD it takes by the grace of God. Provide a rational explanation to why you are going for a year program in Canada. Is there any academic progression for your intended program. Explain this to the Visa officer on your SOP. |

Frankrobbn1: You did not answer the core of my question.. which is: why do you think that embassy will not keep an applicant’s supporting documents submitted previously? Your answer to his question was no that embassy will not keep previous CV and employment letter submitted previously. |

mcobex: Thanks Boss for this information, please Sir, I received a half tuition waiver for PhD studies from my Supervisor in Canada. Now, I applied for Ptdf scholarship but it seems this years ptdf scholarship is restricted to China, Germany, France. My dream Country is Canada and I already have a supervisor whom I have been in constant communication with for 6months now. My admission letter will be out soon by the grace of God. Please what do you suggest I do, is it possible to use my half tuition waived Admission letter to my advantage to secure the Ptdf scholarship and still go to Canada? |

You can decide to reedit your letters and CV's there is no harm in that, but don't change the employment history you stated on your previous application. Great, thank you all Sirs, for your responses. Please to my main question, I was refused student Visa to Canada in December. Docs presented: Application forms CV Sponser letter and affidavit sponser bank statement Medicals passport I was refused on several counts but main reason was that I will not leave after studies based on 1 travel history 2 family ties in canada and home country 3 purpose of visit 4 based on personal assets and financial status 5 based on employment situation My Profile: I am 28 with no property in my name or families name. Honestly my work does not earn anything better (a study abroad company) and trusting God to have gotten another one by next month. I got admission to Windsor for Masters in Criminology program with only living expenses to be paid through TAship and also got Memorial (Mphil program) without any funding, I therefore decided to apply with Memorial for January entry so I could probably use some little savings and families support to pay first year fees and work the rest out when I get in, obviously through part time work. My family is not that in good standing and therefore I struggled to get a distant uncle at the last hour who could only provide a 3 months bank statement at just slightly above required money. Now: I have applied to 2 USA schools and TAship for same Criminology program which when succesful, I could be lucky to get both tuition and stipend. But since Canada appears to be the number one preference I am thinking of reapplying for September in the next couple of months for the Windsor offer and forget the USA offer no matter the outcome. However my main problem here as can be seen is how to turn my REFUSAL around as well as the best option COUNTRY to direct my next application to. Judging by my bio presented and the huge problem of task before me, I will be very grateful if you Sirs are able to personally look into the cases of my refusal one after the other vis a vis my profile and graciously advice me on how to tackle each of them as well as advice on how best to direct my next student visa application. I thank you all in advance> |

justwise: Boss Justwise! They will have records/documents of the previous application, but they don't cross check it to compare with the documents of the new application. A new application is treated based on the evidence provided. 1 Like |

bbclue: That's what I am saying. They don't compare the previous documents to the new application. So the applicant in question is free to edit his CV's and letters there is no harm in that. 1 Like |

Thanks Frankrobbn for stating out how to tackle the reasons in my GCMS. The truth is I don't have any property in my name and my present job is no way related to my education or intended study. What are my chances in my next application please as that's the only issue I think I have? I deferred my admission to fall 2018. Please I need contribution from all... IstandWitBuhari: The schorlaship each year is STRICTLY for the SELECTED countries. I advice you try to apply to another school in CANADA, preferably a school with full funding and also apply to the countries SELECTED for PTDF this year. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 3:49pm On Feb 18, 2018 |
justwise: They don't, because there are multitudes of applications to review. Perhaps, I have used a case scenario where an applicant lied abt their previous sponspor (using Maternal, paternal, Nephew etc... as sponsor) and on the new application the applicant decides to change sponspor to someone else with different name and got approved. Well, I'll still make more research regarding this. |

Frankrobbn1: Thanks Frankrobbyn. I have applied for MA, my application is in process but don not have a supervisor. I have emailed every available professor in that department no one is responding. Also I have a letter of offer in Project Managmemt (PDG) already from UniWinnipeg. I work as a project management assistsnt in one of the big NGOs in Nigeria. Am just thinking that if the letter of offer for Ma doesn’t come can I go ahead with the PDG. My intention is to go for a Masters of PHD after the pdg program. Thanks |

gbemiigbal: gbemiigbal, You have to be excerise patience okay, most of these supervisors don't like applicant bombarding them with mails upon mails. Great! You have gotten acceptance from Uwinnipeg, and there is a career progression. Please don't do the mistake of letting the visa officer know that you're using this PGD as a pathway to your masters in Canada. They will tag you as not a genuine student that will over stay his visa in Canada. Was your CGPA up to the minimum requirement for Canadian universities? (2.1). If your CGPA is okay, please i advise you stick for a Masters program than a PGD. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 4:10pm On Feb 18, 2018 |
Josh1996: Josh1996, Don't misinterpret it okay. On this forum, I have seen several 1 year program applicants getting their visa. But ever since this year, the Visa officers have this mindset that most applicants applying with a 1 year program is using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada. So therefore, for such application to scale through you need to provide a rational explanation to why you are going for a year program in Canada, that's where length of stay in Canada comes into questioning. Thus, to jump all this hurdles of providing a convincing SOP, it's better you get a 2 years program preferably. Hope is understood..... |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 4:27pm On Feb 18, 2018 |
Cc: Shaddy1k , cic has all the time in the world to check your previous profile and compare it with the present one, in fact they will check it. There's a possibility you might have changed your place of work or added any skill or done any training since your last application, so you can add those new things on your cv but you CAN'T remove whatever you might have written before. So the only thing you can do is add to your cv but you can't remove anything. 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 4:45pm On Feb 18, 2018 |
adexyz91: adexyz91, The BOLD is the problem with your previous application, most especially the second. Try as much as possible to get a 2 years program that is reasonable to your previous and intended program/job role it will go a long way in tackling the concerns of the visa officer. Also, try and establish strong ties to your country, you mustn't have assest before your application will be approved. Add the birth certificates of your siblings and also show more interest of coming back after your studies. |
