That was the year they made billions in foreign exchange loss and you wrote their management off. I remember only Bigjay01 had the guts to buy the stock at ₦12 then and it later moved aboved ₦80.

oh yess!

There was about 6B loss related to some fx thingy. I knew it was a one off, the stock was punished to about higher 12s. I jumped in at 13, watched it get to 27, afraid catch me, i jumped out at about 27.8 only to see it at 85 a few months later.

Guess how i felt ...

This is Macmillan analysis. It doesn't just happen that way. Sometimes market will not recover for a long time. That is why holding good stocks that pay dividends is the best. Where prices don't move, you sit tight and chop the yearly dividends.
after all said and done it boils down to d fact that stock business only favours the rich who has some spare cash to play around.

On serious note, it will do the banks more good, at least to have strong saves, maintain a good account system, build the investors and their customers confidence.

It's true that we need dividend, but fundamental of the stock matter, Stocks like, FIDELITY, FCMB, DIAMOND BANK, has nothing to lose.
Question
1. Does CBN take away their money? Answer: No
2. Does CBN wishes them bad ? Answer No.
3. Will the policy benefit the banks positively or negatively? Answer: positively.
4. Will the investors benefit in the long term of a year or two? Answer : yes

According to CBN policy, some stocks fall in the categories of paying 100%, some 70 %, some 30 %, and some nothing.
Note, no bank in recent year ever pay 100% or 70% of their EPS, even 50% is difficult.
As far as am concern nothing changed.

The three banks I mentioned earlier have good future, since one year now the have performed more than the tier one bank, and still have more fuel going by their current price to still returned up to, or near to 100% capital appreciation.

Fidelity has PE around 5 at q3, and by q4 it will be around 4 .

FCMB acquired legacy pension fund, one of the highest pension fund in Nigeria, by increasing their stake from 20% to above 80%, they have CSL stockbroker as one of their subsidiaries, and CSL is also one of the highest stockbroking firm in the country, their subsidiary earning report always come at their Q4 result. To mention but few.

Diamond bank has good future prospective, been one of the biggest bank in the country, by operation and assets.

Some people might poison investors mind not to invest in these stocks now.
On these banks, all I can say for now is that, sky is their limit.

good analysis my brother. which bank has been paying 75% before? when they are not nestle or okomu. I wonder what d panic is all about.

Someone did an analysis and said it is not possible for any stock to go below 20kobo, can't remember the basis; or is it 19kobo
1kobo is more than 5% of 19kobo
Stocks in that category can only move 1kobo; not a fraction.
Stocks in nse cannot move more than 5% of reference price.
So we might not see 1kobo stocks grin
OK,I get.no wonder I still see massive trade on some stocks @0.39.i was thinking-if it is going down to 1,while not wait till it get there?

It has already. If you place a bid that is not in multiples of 0.5 on any stock 5-100, you will get an error message.

It was designed to allow the stocks go to 1k park and thats their destination

Smaller priced stocks will grow at outrageous percentages until they can produce a 1k at 5% multiple

grin
OK,I see.I was trying a bidding on df last week when I got this pop up message.(you can not bid lower than 15 or so) I was shocked.abi Morgan don collect bribe from alhaji to prevent fall.thanks for this jor.

A member of this thread who is a powerful priest and equally has a shrine, asked me about the impact of VAID ( voluntary asset and income declaration) on the capital gain from his stock market investment.

Accountants, lawyers, investment professionals and other stakeholders, will VAID have any negative effects on our stock market investments.

I learnt FIRS is currently mining information from stockbrokers, banks, real estate brokers etc.

Hello, I sent you an email cheesy

yok:
MSCI MOVEMENT FOR 15 FEBRUARY 2018/GENERAL COMMENT

The coast is now getting clear. seems is time to get ready for the second bullish ration for 2018.

With the situation for the past 2 days, there is high probability for the market to be bullish next week. I am already factoring in the fact that today will be a bullish day. For the Oando Audit, it is possible that the company will get away with just some sanctions which is not likely to impact negatively on the organisation.

Caution: This information is for educational purpose only and not an investment advise. For any clarification you can e-mail me via this forum or contact an investment adviser.

He should not worry because there is no cause for alarm. Gain derived from sale of shares, stocks, treasury bills, bonds are NOT subject to capital gain tax. This is in line with s.30 (1) & (2) of Capital Gains Tax Act of 1967 as amended to date.

However, the tax on such investments is withholding tax which is charged on the interest or dividend received on the capital sum. This tax is also final i.e. No other form of tax can be levied on the income.

Hope this helps... grin

I don't think it is ever too late to get into the market.
The most important thing is that someone must understand what he is buying and have an exit strategy.
I picked some stocks when the market was already bullish this year and I am out already with some decent profit. One of them is CNNN.
I am currently buying two stocks, FMN and one other stock that I will not like to mention now because of liquidity.

i think i know this stock grin

in my own opinion the stock is currently trading above it Q3 fairvalue except you have insider information of good than expected Q4 report

though the stock go vomit no matter how, if it is constipated to poo
