Asapant: Yes. That can get you an offer if the university is not highly competitive. Note that to get Master's/PhD offer is not dependent on CGPA alone. There are other factors to be considered such as Resume, SOP & LOR etc. |

Slik07:The university is mount saint Vincent University. Nova Scotia |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Nobody: 11:41am On Feb 19, 2018 |
Asapant: That is ok. But I dont encourage people to apply to only one university. You can apply to 2 or 3 to spread your chances. MUN, Ryerson, USASK etc., can offer you admission with that CGPA if you package your application well. Best of luck. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Asapant: 11:48am On Feb 19, 2018 |
Slik07:alright. Thanks man. I'm planning of applying to Conestoga college. Do you think thats a smart move ? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Nobody: 12:05pm On Feb 19, 2018 |
Asapant: You've a BSc and you want to go for a PGD instead of Master's? No career progression. The VO will see this and question if you're truly a genuine student. It's a smart move if you've been working in a bank (non-engineering/IT-related department) for instance with your Engineering BSc and this PGD is in line with your current position in the bank. In your SOP, you can explain this change of career and progression and TRV will fall on you. It's doable! |

shaddy1k: shaddy1k, Good to hear from you again. CAIPS/GCMS NOTE - Is a note that is written by a Visa officer that handled your previous app and on the note you will find the factual reason why your application was refused. So it's good you order for your file. In respect to the cost you can order for it here in Nigeria at the rate of 23$ equivalent #8400. If you have someone in Canada that is legally residing over there,(Permanent residence, citizen, student, etc..) the person can order for the note on your behalf at the rate of $5 using this link https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en Since you're a sponsored applicant, there is no cut off bank figure/balance that should be in your account. The Visa officer understands fully that you're not sponsoring yourself, so therefore the financial burden will be on your sponsor to certify them that funds will be made available to you. I have seen applicants without property/assests but were approved of their visas, you only need to establish a strong ties to your country by showing more interest in coming back after your studies, your future goals and prospects in Nigeria matters alot, you Aged parents is a home tie, your siblings the same. So endeavour to add your siblings birth certificates to your next application. Since you dont have any property in your name, You can't claim what you don't have, so go ahead and provide a rational explanations and you will be fine. Finally, do you intend saying you got the money from your place of work i.e your SAVINGS? Please if this information is not sufficient enough, feel free to ask questions. Thank you! 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Gascoigne: 12:25pm On Feb 19, 2018 |
Hello House. One question: is it a must to have sponsor(s) transfer funds to applicant's personal account regardless of if they are immediate family? e.g Parents, Sibling. Is it not enough for the said sponsor(s) to show 4-6 months statement of their own account as stated by CIC? @Frankrobbn1 and other gurus. Thanks. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 12:34pm On Feb 19, 2018 |
Gascoigne: Gascoigne It's not compulsory, but necessary. It a way to clarify all doubts of the visa officer that funds is available for the applicant for their first year of studies, mostly when applicant is using a third party sponsor. But if you're using a family member as a sponspor (Parents, siblings), then you only need to pay for your full tuition. The Visa officer believes that no parent will allow it's child to travel to Canada without providing their living expenses. So in your case, ask your parents to pay your full tuition and everything will be equal. |

Frankrobbn1: I have to edit this post to remove sections where you encouraged circumventing immigration rules and advertising 3rd party link. Account boasting no matter how small should not be encouraged here. I appreciate every single person helping out here but we need to do it legitimately because many are reading this. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Frankrobbn1: Sorry been away from online a few days now. What' going on? I will try and catch up. Yes I was persecuted and stood my ground. I remember one belligerent critic of me garnering 36 likes for an epistle he wrote about me. I continued to help people here regardless. Then people started to testify left and right that they won their TRV due to my help. Even those who persecuted me started to approach me for help. One moniker here I remembered famously coined them "two faced." Now I can't even keep up with the PMs. Anyways keep up the good work bro. After 5 Months since I filed my application, I was called for medicals last week. Half down, half to go. USASK Fall 2018. Jesus is Lord!!! 21 Likes |

We will surely miss a legend like you. I wish you the very best jnyuwa02, you have been a good friend. I hope to testify soonest! Frankrobbn1: Dear Frankrobbn I addressed all letters to The High Commission of Canada, Visa Section, P.O. Box 1639, Accra, Ghana. Is this okay as I get confused seeing some applicants addressing their to the Lagos office. Kindly advise if I need to change it or leave it that way as some has been signed already. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Frankrobbn1: 3:00pm On Feb 19, 2018 |
Thebushboy1: Please go ahead this is the best place to address your letters as all correspondence are treated in Ghana. Many SOP's i review I change the address to this one. So you're perfectly correct! |

justwise: Great thank you very much Frankrobben1 and Justwise for the answer and feedback. Thanks Frank, I now understand the CAIPS now. Please with your question, I was intending to say those monies were gotten from some other side business such as part time teaching standardized test or something. Also, please did you mean submitting their birth certs and stating that they depend on me and because of that I will have to come back will make up for the ties? Secondly, with the bank statement too, please will changing the sponser altogether in the next application raise any concern? Also with my case of travel history, will stating that I have concentrated only on my studies suffice? Thank you very much Sir. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by WEIRDPC(m): 3:39pm On Feb 19, 2018 |
shaddy1k: You can always change sponsor The important thing is to convince the Visa officer your sponsor is genuine, credible, reliable and also financially capable. Travel history is not really a problem. Not having prior travel experience is not a big deal. Focus on packaging all other aspects of your application well and you will be fine. Most people I know, got their TRV without any prior travelling and to the best of my knowledge, no one has ever been denied just for travel history. Best wishes. 1 Like |

cardinal1: Which university is that? Visit the school. Go to the exams and record, you must find someone there to help you process it. Or you can check Express Entry thread, they've a lot of people that help to process transcripts. |
