Kog45:all these arguments that someone will still not be good enoghh unless he plays 'high intensity' games is tiring. Uzoho will not get that chance, we don't have any competitive games coming up, so why can't he be judged by what we see him in? If we cannot give someone a chance until another person is declared unfit, then no wahala, let someone be unfit then. Sometimes, we say we shouldn't wish bad on our players, but many will not give good players a chance if bad does not befall the ones they are comfortable with. Imagine if Shehu performed well against Argentina, how would Ebuehi have gotten a chance to pocket Di Maria? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Looolll.... yeah... and Ola Aina and Idowu have been getting more games compared to Echiejile... Echiejile is ahead in that position based on his understanding of the team (due to his long stay with them) and his experience but by game time, we both know he is far behind. He is only just trying to pick up after his latest move. Victor Moses and John Mikel Obi are undisputed certainties for Russia. But for Echiejile... the jury is still out until the final list is released. Also take note of this Rohr comment.... "You have to respect what the former players have done in the past but be careful that you don't try to bring them back because people think so," Rohr continued. That is for those who keep bringing up names like Dele Aiyenugba and co..... in the end, I just believe Rohr will pick the "best" for "the team" somehow: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Are you saying haven't had countless of superb performances from Echiejile in his sojourn with the SE? I believe you're not among the sigh sighted and short memory type of Nigerians out there. If it's by 45 mins, then no player in the SE color is bad. TheSuperNerd: |

Over the years Echiejele has been our weakest link in the Eagles. The only reason he keeps getting invite is solely because Coaches "perceive" him to be "experienced." Maybe he gets call up because of his level headed attitude and calm composure, because everything else is zero. He's got experience and nothing else. As for the Goal Keepers, if we miss the opportunity to elevate Uzoho just because we feel he's a rockie, tell me, when will he become a "goodie?" after the WC? You guys should think beyond your nose. Yes i agree, all we see in him is pure potential, nothing else! Alas, potentials don't blossom if you don't put it into usage, polish it, utilize it and expand it. And right now, Uzoho's potential has been tested and tried. He has been polished and continues to gets polished. He has been utilized and is now being exposed and expanded. Look into his eyes! You see fire burning to explode. I saw that fire against Agentina when he made some bad ass saves. The guy is hungry. He is intimidating to his opponents. He is composed and confident. What else do you want from a good goal keeper? I'll tell you what he needs instead - PLATFORM! He needs the platform to shine and blossom. He needs the platform to become more experienced, because every game he plays adds up to build that confidence and experience. But know this, many times, "PLAFORMS don't matter, its the INDIVIDUAL standing on them!" Apkeyi had his chances, he ruined it. Ezenwa got his too, but he's not taking it seriously because he's simply just not good enough. Then came Uzoho, in just 45Mins, dudes wins over the coach and the whole world pays him respect. What transpired? The Individual uniqueness, giftedness, and raw talent, took centre stage. Some people were created by Platforms, but others CREATE their own Platforms and make it theirs. Ezenwa is unserious and makes costly mistakes, Akpeyi is shaky shaky daddy, Uzoho is composed and confident, and mind you, Nigeria didn't create this Platform for him, he created it for himself at Depotivo when he took centre stage that even the spanish media recognized him and paid him respect!!! What else do you want from the young man? 11 Likes 3 Shares |

Funny you, you are trying to yank off Echiejile from the statement the coach made? Well na your comment and your opinion, the coach has spoken. He has mentioned the team's backbones in each position except the GK position which isn't clear. If na by where person dey play, then Ezenwa should kick world cup bye bye because he hardly played club football for months. TheSuperNerd: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 1:52pm On Feb 24, 2018 |
1 The GK issue was not referred to in this context. Because it will automatically apply to the young keepers as well who have not been part of this team. And Rohr won’t have even considered Enyeama in the first place. 2. Echiejile’s chances in making it to Russia looks bright especially if he gets game time wherever he plays, but there is no guarantee he will be a starter in Russia 3. Old SE players from the past who have not been part of this team have a slim chance. 4. There will be few slots for grabs. 5. Rohr seems stuck on Osimhen. TheSuperNerd: |

I want to see Uzoho for 90 mins against Poland and if he does well, another 90 mins against Serbia, and if he performs well again, Rohr should just use that keeper trainer gum am, because we will be grooming him for the #1 spot. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Icon79: From what I can see comparing thier pedigree past, present and as well as consistency. Joel leaves them eating dust, Joel Haa continously played in Seria A apart from Injury has been very consistent. None of Agu or Ogu players have reached the heights Joel has reached. They are all playing in the backwaters of Europe Turkey and Isreal. Furthermore, they are not the most outstanding players in thier respective leagues. Joel for me first choice it's a no contest but this is the NFF and nothing will suprise me. 3 Likes |

Leicester City is 1 goal down. Iheanacho and Diabete comes in at 61 minutes for Danny Simpison and demaria Gray. Mahrez is still in the game. P . I guess coach puel is desperately looking for a goal |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 3:03pm On Feb 24, 2018 |
Reason. U can’t use one match to judge any keeper. Our #1 keeper also needs consistent games with SE. Uzoho has shown great potential. If he continues that way, he should be left for consistency sake. Akpeyi may post a good show one game and be abysmal in the next. I doubt he will get another chance. . Forget Rohr’s diplomatic talk. elyte89: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 3:05pm On Feb 24, 2018 |
Looolll.... Superb performances.... Look, if Echiejile have had any sort of "superb" performances in recent times, we won't even be having this discussion... What he had had are decent performances of late. Judging his performance as a stand alone, you will hardly find "superb" as a label for Echiejile's performances. Let us be honest abeg. As for Echiejile's place on that plane to Russia, I recall also being among the few who said that Rohr will likely take him to Russia as long he plays and also based on his experience and his being part of the team's WC campaign through out as the team's no.1 LB. And Idowu's 45 mins as well as Ebuehi's 45 mins all against Argentina were truly top notch. This was Argentina. Rohr's biggest opponent/test since he took over. And the players he selected for that game that passed in flying colors cannot be ignored. THEY HELD THEIR OWN AGAINST A WORLD CLASS TEAM NOT BASED ON "NAME" ALONE BUT ALSO BASED ON THE PLAYERS PARADED THAT DAY BY ARGENTINA. One cannot look past that so easily. Even Rohr cannot which is why he mentions once that Idowu will not just be an interpreter for the team in Russia. Or you never heard him say that, since you are the one with long-term memory... Lol somehow: 2 Likes |

Call it yank off if it makes you feel better but all I did was to give you the context under which Rohr mentions Echiejile. You don't expect Rohr to dispose of Echiejile who featured in all important games of the WC Qualifiers and who has been Rohr's no.1 LB since he took over.... It won't happen. And herein lies our dilemma, Echiejile is not the force he once was and he was never even spectacular as our LB but he was decent. But now even his decency has dropped. But as long as he plays, he will make the team to Russia based on one solid parameter.... "Experience" backed up by his contributions during the WC qualifiers. But we all know that if we go by quality alone.... He stands no chance against Idowu and Aina. In Mikel's role, who challenges his quality? Who? In Victor Moses' nko?? Who naa? But in Echiejile... His quality is called into question in the presence of Idowu and Aina without question. Finito. But in all... He will be in Russia unless injury stops him (God forbid).... **And I kinda feel some hands smack me from behind for saying God Forbid...** somehow: |

Joebie: a good 90 mins against Poland should be enough to seal his place as super eagles No.1. one thing we still haven't understand about ezenwa is that...he always rush out from his line....and there by leaving space for a talented player to chip the ball off his head...he did this severally in this last Chan you know he is not that tall but him always rushing out may gift a player like messi 5 goals in a match... 4 Likes 1 Share |

somehow:brother we are no longer living on the past. you will agree wit me...that during the qualifiers elderson was our weakest link in the defense....then he was even in Turkey...though from some of his club highlights posted here...he played below par most times.. why can't we fix it...fix this defensive problem by putting round peg in round hole... presently you can't compare a player like Aina and elderson....forget this experience talk...his so called experience will keep him glued to the bench had it been he was in the English championship...... I am not sayn he should be dropped indescrimately but presently those guys- Aina and ebuehi all proved better at the moment |

Daejoyoung:I tell you...my brother during the Chan tourney I became scared when I saw this...which means he still haven't learn anything yet...ajiboye unlike him never act in such manner.... I think...the problem wit ezenwa is so much...something we can't work with prior the World cup....uzoho should be trusted and allowed to man the post if he proves better during the friendlies...if not...leaving our world cup goal keeping role in the hands of akpeyi and ezenwa gonna be too risky.... though I don't really know about Dele fitness and I can't tell how good he is...because i haven't watch him play for a long time don't even know which team he play for... but I still think he is not in rohr's plans... |
