it is one thing to identify a problem, it is another to have the ability to solve it, what you just said is not a solution to the problem you earlier mentioned. State police was instrumental to the civil war you fought between 1967-1970, going back to a problem solved over 40yrs ago is proof you have very little knowledge about how we got here.
I have noticed lately that young people in our country who missed history lessons jump to the media to attack the structure of governance with no knowledge how and why it is the way it is at the behest of selfish politicians who careless about their interest.

Borno state vigilante/police may help you protect Dapchi girls in Yobe state today, when yorubas or igbos disagree on a subject, you will realize that localized force will easily take sides in every conflict, that is why the Nigerian security apparatus is decentralized, first proposed during the Aburi conference, carried over to the 1979 constitution till date, a brilliant panacea to our ethnic charged society, Americans don't have ethnicity problems therefore they can afford NYPD unlike Nigeria like most dolts advocate.

While the Lazy governors are planning how to use those state structures as legal thugs to rig elections, civilians like you give a voice to their !diocy founded on poor understanding or outright chicanery to manipulate the structure that favors them. While singing their opinion to us, it is smarter to ask what is in it for you?
If there is a misunderstanding between Igbos and Yorubas in Lagos state, on whose side will the Yoruba dominated state police be?
in a decentralized system, a Northern commander is deployed to maintain peace and order. This structure is the only fabric that has glued together our fragile ethnic charged society, in pre 66, when we ran the structure you proposed, we ended up in a civil war, why will you want to replay such tragedy out of ignorance? Im sure you think the COAS is a Borno man by accident right? well, the current structure gives us the opportunity to send a man from Borno who is hard hit by BHT tragedy.
In countries that operate state policing there is a structure called inter agency cohesion, that is practically non existent in Nigeria but citizens like you dont ever see the big picture but the myopic picture presented by selfish politicians fighting for their economic future.
State police will Destroy Nigeria!

ok what is your solution? cos clearly this current situation isn't working also

Look, I am not saying Federal Police should be abolished, even though they have failed time and again and are not performing their core mandate. State Police will exist under the jurisdiction/oversight of F.P.

Ironically, the states that are viciously objecting to S.P are those that are always prone to barbaric inter-ethnic violence. They are the one that are quick to slaughter other countrymen just because of some stupid Charlie Hebdo in France or Denmark's Miss World. I am sure you still remember those incidents.
And the likelihood of the civil war happening would have been greatly reduced if they didn't turn the North to slaughterhouse of other countrymen!

They said they are scared of Politicians turning State Police Officers to their personal thugs, so we should be stuck with this messed up system. Can you sincerely tell me that the Federal Police we have now are not personal thugs of politicians and civilians alike? Just this afternoon, I heard a story of how a wealthy "Madam" locked a 17yrs old teenager in police cells just for purportedly stealing less than 50cent worth of yoghurt. The boy was tortured right in front of his helpless and uneducated parents. (Me, I think they are just plain stupid cos I will never watch some overzealous buffoons treat my children bad.)

Obviously, there are States that are overripe for State Police in Nigeria, FG should use them as a pilot scheme to test run the proposal.

If it's State Police and True Federalism that will break Nigeria apart, then it simply means we should never have been together in the first place.

The inadequately staffed Nigerian police force is now trying to disarm licensed individuals. Misplaced priorities ! This is making every civilian a target to be preyed on by criminals.

According to the Nigerian firearm act and law, the inspector general of police doesn't have the right to ban the use of licenced firearm throughout the country. Only the president can issue such order. The IG reserve the right to either issue or not to an individual and the c-i-c order stays above his.

The President if he thinks fit may at any time by proclamation prohibit the possession of or dealing in any firearms or ammunition, either throughout the Federation or in any part thereof, and either absolutely or except subject to such restrictions or conditions as may be specified.
Such proclamation from the President may require the surrender of firearms and ammunition within a specified time and to a specified authority, and any person neglecting to make such surrender, or being in possession of or dealing in any firearm or ammunition during the period that such proclamation is in force, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a penalty of one thousand naira or imprisonment for two years, or to both such fine and imprisonment.

At first I thought they were reeffering to illegal firearms but the part were it says “no license will be issued or recognized” really got me worried.

A Photo of the 2018 Cleopatra maneuver, gathering french special forces with the special units of the Egyptian Navy and showing their arming with the French rifle famas
In 1978, the French Army of the French Army (Famas) entered the French Army to arm the forces of the French Army with its f1 version, 400000 of which had been produced and kept in service, even with improved copies. Rifle Service and is currently being replaced by the HK-416 assault rifle, and one of the most significant defects of the venetian rifle is that the design of its internal parts provides a very large force enough to tear off the bullet envelope and disarm the weapon and the problem It will cause a problem with the exchange of ammunition with nato allies, whose weapons have been standardized to facilitate their exchange among different state soldiers.
The effective range of the rifle is 300 metres in the f1 version and 450 metres for the g2 version, and the actual firing rate of the rifle is 100 rounds per minute, using 45*5.56-caliber rounds and weighing 3.8 kg with The ammunition store with 25 bullets in the f1 version and 30 bullets in the g2 version.

# Comparison | Holographic Telescopes-3 American and holographic telescopes pg-210 Russian
The design of both mnẓạryn with large windows provides a major situational awareness of the user during the shooting, but the perspectives-3 American perspectives provided by EO-tech in the window area (25 x25 PG-210). For 30 x23 mm for exps-3, the duration of the American Telescope Exps-3 is used using one battery 600 hours running for 2000 hours run for Russian telescope pg-210
While the American telescope weighs 317 grams to 297 grams for the Russian telescope pg-210, the perspectives-3 perspectives are superior to the maximum capacity to carry water up to 10 meters. 2 meters for PG-210, both mnẓạryn are compatible with night-vision systems, and exps-3 Binoculars have a thermal range between-40 to 68°C for a thermal range. 40 to 50°C for the PG-210 glasses, and additional zoom binoculars can be added to the our to convert them to a hybrid shot.
One last comment: personally the best perspectives-3 American binoculars due to their top tactical flexibility, especially in the upper situational awareness section, carrying it to the water even deeper, and the larger thermal operation.

Half Of Dapchi Schoolgirls Taken To Niger Republic

https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/half-of-dapchi-schoolgirls-taken-to-niger-republic.html

Can someone tell me how long after the kidnap ops started did the military get to know about it? ISR should have been deployed immediately. IMO, first response should have been immediate deployment of ISR platform. Later deployment means we will need additional Intel especially HUMINT which may not be readily available.

In as much as I praise the Nigerian military for their action and grounds towards ISWAP and BHT, it's no doubt that they really flopped. An abduction will either lead to a SWAP or ransom except you're willing to make them a statistics of collateral damages.
