If you get a supervisor at USAsk and you're recommended for admission, is it a guarantee that you'll get finding?
If you're given conditional admission, do you have to send all documents before you can apply for trv?

Yes if you are recommended by your academic unit, 98 percent chance that the school of graduate studies will approve your admission. But funding you just have to play it by the ear. No guarantees, you don't even know you are been considered for funding till you get the news. If you are given conditional admission, no you don't have to send everything before applying for TRV. I will recommend you send everything, but if for one reason or the other you can't, no worries, just show the VO that you meet those conditions by showing the evidence. For example if you were given conditional admission based on sending your original transcript, you need to show that transcript to the VO. If you need to take a prerequisite course and score nothing less than B before the commencement of your studies, you need to show that you have registered for that course or earned the B required. That said, it would be fair to disclose that all is up to the VO's discretion. I know someone with conditional admission who was approved for TRV without even meeting that condition before a VO. When God opens your door, nobody can shut.

Hello gurus in the house please quick answer

On my son and my two cousins admission letter , the school wrote annual expenses ( both tuition) for each of them 11500 CAD pls is this the amount the cic will look in considering my son and cousins financial status and the amount of money that will be in my bank account

If am sponsoring the three of them how much is expected to be in my bank account

Pls quick answer

11,500 for both room and board and Tuition a year? I am thinking that is only tuition. What school are you talking about? That doesn't sound right. 64,500 Canadian dollars at least is my guess for all three, with proof that more of the same will be coming in prospective years. $10,000 is the average cost of room and board a year for each of them. $11,500 for tuition for each of them. Total $21,500 for each of them.

Yes. The pre-qualification form you filled is not only to assess your eligibility but also to match you with a supervisor where funding is available. You would rarely be given an offer when there is no funding. Either your supervisor contacts you and tells you he doesnt have funding but he can accept you if you provide funding. Or you're rejected.

2. With the rate VOs are looking for reasons to delay applicants, I'd advise you meet all the requirements for your admission and make it unconditional offer before you apply for TRV, unless if the requirement is the one you will meet when you're in Canada.

You can risk it if you want, with a well written SOP.

We pray it's approved. But the words ''definitely'' used in your statement is an hyperbole cos I have seen PhD students denied visa for financial reasons and home ties. Let us wish people the best and stay away from guaranteeing a visa approval. It's up to the VO's unfettered discretion. And God's will.

Were you expecting the VO to approve a PhD candidate that is not financially stable? I used 'definitely' because he has funding. He has PTDF scholarship and his application will definitely be approved, unless he did something wrong in his application.

Any PhD candidate that is denied messed up his application because VO narrows denial reason on finance and in rare cases current employment situation. All that travel history, home ties, purpose of visit etc are ignored.

You said someone was denied on home ties? The VO knows that the minimum duration for a PhD in Canada is 4 years and if you do the right things, you're eligible to file for citizenship within that period. So that home tie is not the reason the person was denied.

Good morning House, kudos to everyone rendering their Voluntary Service to help others, God bless you all. Please I got my GCMS after my second refusal and I will like the house to assist me on how to tackle this reasons . Note I am a Graduate of Computer Science and I applied for a PGD degree in Mobile Solutions Development in my previous application . Please I will appreciate if anyone can assist me how how to tackle the reasons, I don't want to be refused the 3rd time . Thank you

Sorry about the delay. From the VO’s report you failed to convince him/her that you have strong financial backing and that there’s high job opportunity in your career path here in Nigeria. My questions to you are
1. How many years is the program?
2. Did you pay one year tuition?
3. Did your sponsor transfer 10,000 CAD to your acc as living expense fee
4 How much liquid cash did your sponsor show during your application? And did he/she explain source of income ? (Note that it’s not advisable to use a company or business account )
5. In your SOP did you explain why this program, why Canada, future plans after studying, how the program exposes you to opportunities in Nigeria. Stating brief and concise meaningful accounts of each year since your graduate study.
6 lastly if you are working here in Nigeria did you submit documents to back it up.

Many thanks.

No, u mostly do not need GRE in Canada. All you need is to contact as many supervisor s as possible in as many schools as possible. Please check online for tips on contacting a prof.

Does your sponsor have other financial commitments apart from you ( like younger siblings) because your application seems tight enough.

Also I’d advice you tell your dad to pay the living expense fee into your dom account

Ensure the bank account he used for the application is not his business or company account ( with no lump sum deposit that isn’t accounted for)

Restructure your SOP

And pray!

Please dear members your contribution is needed. My cousin is given an acceptance letter in a university in Canada but with below requirement:

Admission Status: Probationary
Requirement: Must have a CGPA of at least 75% after two (2) semesters with no failing grades
Degree: Master of Applied Science
Major: Industrial Systems Engineering
Route: Thesis
Valid: Spring/Summer 2018 to Winter 2019
Condition(s): None

He is yet to send the official documents in order to receive the "unconditional acceptance" letter and then proceed for visa.

He wants to understand what this probation means and its consequences.

Thanks for your cherished contributions.

When he fulfils the requirement, his enrollment status will change to Full time instead of Probationary

If he is planning to resume Summer, he needs to start making his visa plans already as it's two months away.

No need to get a passport yet.

The only thing is, your TRV will expire on the last day of validity of your passport.

you will get a new passport in the Nigerian embassy in Ottawa and you will get a study permit extension too.

Congratulations

I would simply be careful guaranteeing anybody's approval of TRV. We all know it's a privilege, not a right. Render advise and wish good luck and best. You can meet all requirements and still be denied. Masters or Phd. And I have seen some PhD students denied on sundry reasons. That is the nature of discretion. And whether you can qualify for PR in the future is not part of the calculus for determining TRV qualification.

You are good to go. Canada and I think Mexico are the only two countries that don't require travelers to have a minimum of 6 months into the future passport validation at the time you enter their country.

Hello,
In Uwindsor, you can't continue for more than two terms on probation

A decision Is made by faculty of graduate studies at the end of the second term.

If you fulfil the requirements on your offer letter, you will get graduate credit for graduate courses.

The probation could be because of any of these reasons
-Your cousin didn't meet requirement for admission to the department but he has relevant experiences or leadership experiences in his field.

-Your cousin is changing from his previous field of study to a new field.

Best wishes

How do you fend for yourself after giving the 24 million away to the three people you are supporting? You need to have like 30 million to comfortably make a claim. So many things are considered like how many other people are dependent on you. And where do you hope to get money for their other prospective year of support would be looked into. I wish best and would advice you support only two and the third person you need to find another sponsor for. I have never seen someone support 3 people at the same time and that person scaled through. Not impossible though if you have a lot more money than what you stated.
