Hello House,
I like to ask this quickly.
Firstly, since the NASU strike is still on and school transcript can't be processed. Is it okay to use a copy of WES evaluated transcript for CIC study permit application??

Secondly, which is preferable to submit as part of application document, bank statement with a closing balance less than 20k or a fixed deposit certificate of that same account showing above 1M rolled over every month?

Lastly, can anyone here take through the steps involved in commencing paper application.

Thank you for all your contributions so far.

Cc: frankrobbn1
AyoPrudence,

Seems like your query haven't been answered and you mentioned my name.

Question 1: Please If you have your BSc certificate you can go ahead and submit it with your visa application, you must not wait for your transcipts. You may choose to include the WES evaluated transcript.

Question 2: I don't seem to understand what you mean by 20K, do you mean to say 20KCAD? You may decide to add the both statements to your application to prove strong financial backing.

Question 3: This was a vague question. I'll best direct you to www.cic.gc.ca here you can kick the process.

All the best

Barryston,
Congratulations on your admission.

Seems like you are lost here : You need to start reading from page 0 of this thread inorder to catch up. Also, start gathering your documents and make sure it's complete before thinking of creating a profile.
Online or paper route are all good, but none has an added advantage to your application.

Haven being denied a US visa before has nothing to do with your study permit application. Just come clean and let them know you have being denied US Visa in 2015 on your IMM form and you will be fine.

All the best!

Edited: Barryston, I'm sorry I don't accept Pm's, kindly ask me your questions here okay?
Thank you Sir/Ma.

Barryston,

Paying upfront tuition fees is not a prerequisite to Visa approval okay. But it goes a long way in letting the visa officer know that your primary intent is strictly for studies. However, In some case scenario, some schools don't accept upfront tuition fees until arrival, so in this case what you need to do is make sure you have both your tuition and living expenses in your personal account, letting the visa officer know on your letter of intent that your school don't accept upfront tuition but funds are already in your possession or better still, you wait for the instructions from the Canadian high commission to pay first year tuition, then you can now pay your tuition, while doing any of the both make sure your tuition and living expenses are in your personal account. Any of the three are good and your visa will still be approved.

Documents that will fly as per your status as a legal personnel.
1-) Employment letters
2-) Payslips
3-) Your personal bank statement
4-) Promotion letters(If any)
5-) letter of increment of salary ( If any)
6-) Your court letters
7-) Letter of intent/statment of purpose
8-) Call to bar certificate
9-) Your first LLB certificate
10-) Reference/introductory letters
11-) Work I.D
12-) Your child birth certificates
13-) Marriage certificate etc....

Edited: You may wish to add relevant documents from your profession.

This is what I can think of for now.

Leaving your family back home is a good tie.

Using your sister as a co-sponsor is good, but make sure she transfers your living expenses into your account as her commitment towards supporting your studies in Canada. If you have the money for your tuition handy, I best advise you pay up, while your sister completes a bank to bank transfer into your account for your living expenses.

It doesn't matter Sir, it must not appear with your company name. Just submit your personal bank statement.

Barryston,
Medicals are carried out by recongnized physician from the Canadian embassy. Doing upfront medicals speeds up application processes.
But to me, I best advise you don't go for an upfront medicals, wait until you are instructed to do so by the Canadian high commission. It's all about choice.

Please is ontario college graduate certificate the same thing as post graduate diploma cos am finding it difficult to select a course in college for PGD, I kept seeing ontario college graduate certificate, meanwhile I have searched in universities too for PGD but the requirement is GPA of 3.00 which is 2.1 but my result is 2.2

Guys, I am in the process of applying for my visa online and I'm a bit confused about something. I received full funding from the Canadian University I applied to, which was outlined in my admission offer. On the application form, what document should I upload in the field for "Proof of means of Financial Support"? Do I just upload my admission offer letter? I'm confused because there is a separate field for "Letter of Acceptance", which means that I will be uploading my admission offer letter twice. I just want to know how people who have applied for trv with funding from their school dealt with this situation.

PS: I will also include my SOA in my application, at least to show the VO I will have sufficient funds to cover my flight and other expenses before I land in Canada
Please what school is that. What qualified you for the full funding?

They usually have letters of offers separate from admission letters. But it looks like the school you got admitted to doesn't do that? If so, upload the admission/offer letter in each of the category required. No harm if it's the same letter. In the column of the form that ask you for how you intend to support yourself, make it unequivocally clear, write FULL SCHOLARSHIP. Yes include SOA for yourself and any alternative sponsor(s) like parents or spouse. Yes it shows your ability to pay the cost of your travel to Canada and can also act as a tie to Nigeria if your family is buoyant.

Best,

Thanks, I accepted the admission offer just two days ago. So perhaps they might send the separate letter of offer in the coming days.

York University. I got accepted into a thesis-based masters. And I contacted and secured a supervisor before I applied.

I think at York University (and most other Canadian Universities for that matter), most thesis masters students are eligible for funding. Though it is not guaranteed.

Hi Guys. It's been a little while I last commented here. I have questions regarding a friend's current situation.

She was recently offered admission into a masters program by the University of Alberta. This admission came with a funding of $21,000 and her tuition is $9,000.

The issue here is that the letter stated that the funding is for the first year. It also stated that funding for the next year is dependent on her satisfactory academic performance and also availability of funding!. That's the tricky part.

If she applies for TRV using full funding as her source of funds, it covers the first year but in the eyes of the VO, there's no guarantee that the second year is covered.

How does she tackle this issue considering that she doesn't in any way have funds or have family members with funds to sponsor her?

I just called two panel physicians to book a medical appointment and was told I would need my international passport or a stamped scanned copy of my passport from the Canadian embassy. The challenge now is that I submitted my passport to vfs with my application and I wasn't sent any scanned copy.

Kindly advise on how I should proceed

I visited their MSc Computer Science website and it appears they don't.
http://eecs.lassonde.yorku.ca/course/computer-science-msc/

"Upon acceptance as a Candidate to the M.Sc. program, the Candidate will be assigned an Academic Advisor who will advise the Candidate with respect to the degree requirements and assist with the Candidate’s selection of a Thesis or Project Supervisor"

Try and contact the graduate program admin. They will be in the best position to help you.

Hi! to my knowledge graduate certificates are basically just certificates with no credit transfer. PGD on the other hand earns you credit transfer points to a masters program or an undergraduate program.
I hope this helps.

Please your advise on this.

A friend of mine want to submit his application this month but worry on below issue.

He has paid all the tution fees, and have closing balance of 6m in his account.

Being a self spouse,he is contemplating if he could go ahead and apply with 6m plus as closing balance.

Please advice.
