Icon4s: I already explained it in my previous post..too be honest, Ajiboye is looking like a better option to this guy..anytime I see him in goal for us, fear just grips me!!! He doesn't inspire any confidence as a gk...you know a gk confidence rubs off on his defenders.. 2 Likes |

Icon4s: If Akpeyi did not move his feet, we would have said that was a bad free kick because he would have grabbed it easily. Keepers train with these balls everyday and should understand the movement. Would you blame the ball movement for the Argentina's goal too? Enyeama was not beaten on his side. he was beaten on the wall side. Two things, you learn when training as a keeper, i. Always cover your near post, ii. For freekicks, don't get beaten on your side. Unless, the strike was unstoppable/exceptional .. Getting beaten on your near post or on your keeper's side has to count as a error.. |

The evil spirits have targeted him at his club side after their success in the GWG. Akpeyi, Akpeyi, Akpeyi, how many times did I call you? Deliverance is calling you o. tbaba1234: On a serious note, no keeper is immune to blunders not even Buffon. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by somehow: 7:19am On Mar 03, 2018 |
I wouldn't call this "blunders" as you first put it. The first goal not his fault, normal goal, only exceptional GKs get to save that and we don't have them in abundance in the world. The second goal was partly his fault, he guessed wrong by first moving to the left before seeing the ball flying towards the right hand side.. Bad judgment from him. tbaba1234: |

Icon4s: How many players in the world can truly hit a ball from distance with power, curl and dip accurately consistently?? Its only messi and ronaldo have seen do this consistently over the years..There is just too few of them.. Sir, look at that fk again and tell me it has this attributes I mentioned that makes it difficult for goalies..the trajectory of that ball was not complicated at all, Akpeyi guessed wrong, he had enough reaction time to deal with that ball.. |

tbaba1234:Rohr is truly a blessing to our football. His Man Management skill is top notch. He is one the reasons the players are committed to the course. I hope our local coachesare learning... 8 Likes 1 Share |

Well the fan's statement (tweet) said these 2 goals, didn't cite other goals so lets not assume. And it was also bad judgment for Enyeama to stand too far left in a FK situation. As a GK, you don't stay too far wide just incase there is a deflection or a change of mind from the kicker. tbaba1234: |

Same way Messi scored his free kick against Etebor's Las palmas few days ago. He put it where the keeper was initially standing. Icon4s: |

bengine:I'm a real fan of Akpeyi but it reached a point especially against Argentina i need to dropped being a fan and look at things critically and even went back to Olympics why Siasia preferred Emma Daniel. Good you mentioned Ajiboye, pls do you think Akpeyi and others are better than Ajiboye?and if they are better on what criteria. Bengine, pls go and watch Sudan match again and be sincere, tell me any of our keepers put into consideration by Rohr that can makes those saves, may be Uzoho cos have not seen much of him. |

Humility017: Note: I called it very poor goalkeeping from Akpeyi. For Uzoho I would have also said same or even less. But what I am trying to point is the exaggeration given to it by Tbaba |

Sorry but no excuses akpeyi should be saving that free kick all day. His initial movement suggest he tries to guess where the ball is going which means he can't see the ball from that distance could it be as the good captain suggested he has vision problems? 1 Like |

forgiveness: Meaning his importance is not on the level of Messi or Hazard for Gent.. I leave it... I watch the games enough to know that assertion is false. The stats do not back it. |
