very talented footballer, but he has succumbed to injury woes. since I started watching youth football from 1999,i think the 2005 set is still the best. please who knows the where about of Solomon okoronkwo (I hope I got it right) the lanky but skillful guy who seems to miss lots of goals?

I met Solomon a few years back, he was based in Budapest, Hungary at the time. I feel he could be be in Hungary still or moved back to Germany where his wife hails from.

Solomon Okoronkwo plays for BFC Dynamo in the fourth tier of Germany

No war.. We just discuss from our perspectives. Both of us belong to the same team.

Icon4s might be right that Uzoho is not yet ready because any mistake he makes in the national team could be the end of his national team career. I have always maintained that Akpeyi is not national team quality.

At the end of March, we should have clearer picture.
Yes war of love for super eagles.

Oh Uzoho makes any mistake end of national team career? No i disagree cos it's acceptable due to his age though Nigeria don't forget easily but he can still come out as a better keeper.

Ah Akpeyi not a national team quality?another puzzle for icon4s to solve.

Sani Kaita could have still played games for Nigeria but immediately after his error, his national team career was over.

Unless Uzoho becomes a top class keeper, any important mistake will not be forgiven. Too young for that.

"I don’t know how this sounds, but I’m happy he was sent off! This is a wrong time for our key players to get injured and be out of the season. The lesser games they play, the better chance of avoiding injuries. Balogun is important to us. Let him rest his legs a bit, praying he gets sent off again. This is selfish I know, but it could be helpful in the long run".

Sadiq Umar just turned 21 years, still under 23.... He was 19 when he played the olympics. There is little doubt about his age, he is genuinely a small boy.

I think he had a great tournament and will get better. Ofcourse, he missed chances.

I rate him higher than Awoniyi and Okonkwo. We will see why..

Musa Hails ‘Amazing, Inspirational Great Teacher’ Rohr After Visit At CSKA Moscow

Super Eagles and CSKA Moscow forward, Ahmed Musa, has expressed his deep appreciation to the Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, who paid him a visit at CSKA Moscow in a bid to foster stronger ties ahead of the 2018 FIfa World Cup. Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.

In a post on his Instagram page, Musa thanks the German for his generosity and support to him.

“Words cannot express gratitude I am feeling for what you did. I appreciate your generosity. What did I ever do to deserve you?,” a happy Musa states.

“You are amazing, a great teacher and have inspired me to excel in the game of football. I stumbled and failed but you taught me never to give up and keep on trying. I just want to say Thank…. THANKS for the visit.”

Since his return to CSKA Moscow, Musa has scored 3 goals and led the team to the round of 16 of the Europa League.

The forward is expected to be in the Super Eagles squad for this month’s friendly matches against Poland and Serbia.

I don't think the error alone nailed his national team career.

Prior to 2010 WC kaita club career was not that good and even raised a question why Seyi Olofinjana should be dropped for him.

Truly he messed up but aftermath his club career nosedived to a worsen situation and it reached a point he needs to come back to NPFL but things didn't works out as plan.

6 Super Eagles World Cup Group Foes’ Stars Shining For European Clubs

With less than four months to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com’s JOHNNY EDWARD highlights six Great players who will likely play against the Super Eagles in the Russia 2018 Group D. These fearsome six have been dazzling with heroic performances in the colours of their respective European clubs.

1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona,Argentina)

The Barcelona playmaker, Lionel Messi has been the standout player for Ernesto Valverde’s side this season in the Spanish LaLiga Santander and has been instrumental to the club’s unbeaten run so far this season in the league.

Having scored 23 league goals and provided 13 assists in the LaLiga (31 goals, 16 assists in 40 games in all competitions), Messi is the most prolific player on this list that the Super Eagles must be wary of at the World Cup.

The 31 year old Argentine captain is probably in the form of his life and coach Jorge Sampaoli would be hoping he replicates that form in Russia.

2 Luka Modric (Real Madrid, Croatia)

One of the most talented midfield players to have come out of Croatia right now is Luka Modric. He has been extremely consistent for Zinedane Zidane’s Real Madrid side this season.

Despite the Los Blancos being out contention for the LaLiga title this season, Modric has been one of the outstanding players in the team.

The versatile 32-year-old has played a number of positions with equal aplomb and class for Real Madrid this year.

Be it in a defensive or attacking midfielder position or even as a playmaker. Modric has been the go-to man for Real to unlock the tightest defence whenever the going has got tough.

Modric has completed 325 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 90%, of which 74% were forward passes.

3 Sergio Aguero (Manchester City, Argentina)

Sergio Agueeo has been highly impressive in the English Premier League for Manchester City who are closing in on their fifth league title. The Argentine striker is a part of an incredible Manchester City’s free scoring team who have opened a 16 point gap at the top of the league.

The 29 year old who is one goal away from his 200th career goal for the club at the time of this report, has scored 21 goals in 23 appearances in the EPL this season, notching up six assists in his seventh season at the club.

Aguero has been called up for Argentina’s friendlies against Italy and Spain this month. He is one forward that will definitely keep the Nigerian defence nervy when both teams clash in their final group game at the World Cup in Russia.

4. Albert Gudmundsson (Iceland, PSV Eindhoven)

Gudmundsson has lit up Dutch second division league in Holland this season with seven goals and five assists for PSV Eindhoven U-21 side.

The 20-year-old who has scored three goals in three international appearances has been frightening for opposing defenders with his pace and skills.

He will be looking to make a bigger name for himself in the World Cup 2018.

5. Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City, Argentina)

Argentina will be delighted to have in their ranks at the World Cup in Russia, a transformed Nicolas Otamendi.
Until Pep Guardiola’s arrival, Otamendi struggled to settle into the English game when he arrived from Valencia, Spain as he was often the man caught out and exposed, or simply switching off in crucial moments.

But under Guardiola, the 30 year old has improved his game. To spell out his improvement in this regard, Otamendi has made more passes (1734) than every single player in the top divisions in England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey and Portugal, according to squwaka.com .

He has scored four goals in 27 appearances this season, won 34 tackles with a success rate of 43% and has made 44 interceptions, 93 clearances and eight blocks.

6. Gylfi Sigurdsson (Everton, Iceland)
The 28 year old Gylfi Sigurdsson

has regained his old form for Everton.
Gifted with amazing playmaking skills and tactical versatility, Sigurdsson is also exceptional at taking free-kicks. He has scored four goals in 25 games creating 35 chances and three assists.

Sigurdsson has also completed 475 passes in the colours of Everton this season with a pass accuracy of 76%, of which 76% were forward passes.

me that my father is Abia, my mother is Delta, I was born in Lagos, raised partly in Lagos and partly in Abuja. I have only been to Abia once, 16 years ago, but I visit Delta more.....where will I claim?

In most African nations, anywhere your father is from, that is where you are from....any other English wey you wan talk, na you sabi grin

At least, you will have an understanding of how those foreign born players feel. Such an occurrence is not limited to FBs, there are many Nigerians having identity crisis because of all these migration stuff.

Lucky for me, I have never picked anything from Lagos or Abuja and there are just as many Igbo people in these places, unlike somewhere like Kogi.....I might not be deep into my Igbo heritage, but I still feel a kindred spirit with any Igbo person, plus, I don't see much difference between Igbos and Niger Deltans, maybe because of my roots.

Nna, no cause confusion. Takes more than spending time somewhere to be an indigene of the place. Na una wey no dey move from one place dey propagate this kain thing, e no go work for waka waka people.

Messi, Aguero, Caballero In Argentina Squad Vs Italy, Spain; Dybala, Tevez Out

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero top the list of 22 foreign-based stars invited by Nigeria’s Russia 2018 World Cup grpup opponents Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli for next month’s international friendly fixtures against Italy and Spain, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The two-time world champions will face Italy at the Etihad Stadium, home of English Premier League leaders Manchester City on March 23rd and then take on Spain four days later at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitan.

Sampaoli also handed invitation to Manchester United and Everton defenders Marcos Rojo and Marcos Funes Mori who last featured for the Albiceleste in March last year due to long-term injuries.

Chelsea second choice goalkeeper Willy Caballero also got the nod for the games following some impressive showings in the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup.

Other regular names in the squad are Paris Saint-Germain forward Angel Di Maria, Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero, Nicolas Otamendi, Javier Mascherano, Lucas Biglia and Ever Banega.

There was however no place in the squad for Paulo Dybala who recently returned from injury for his club Juventus, Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi and Carlos Tevez who rejoined Boca Juniors.

Messi missed last November’s 4-2 friendly defeat to the Super Eagles in Russia as he was rested by Sampaoli.
Argentina are drawn in Group D with Nigeria, Iceland and Croatia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

THE FULL SQUAD
Goalkeepers: Sergio Romero, Willy Caballero, Nahuel Guzman

Midfielders: Javier Mascherano, Leandro Paredes, Manuel Lanzini, Giovanni Lo Celso, Lucas Biglia, Ever Banega, Angel Di Maria

The only Nigerian born youth player I can stick out my neck that he is playing with his true age. This boy is hugely talented, with the right attitude, he will certainly make it.
