Ultrasound scan can raise person blood pressure sometimes ehn.That was how scan said my boy was below 2.0kg at 7months and doctors were giving different advises. We got "2nd opinion" it was still the same.He was 3.8kg at birth.God above scan result!

I think it is more dangerous to allow a novice/layman make a decision out of ignorance. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl. Letting the knowlege shine through especially expert opinion will guide him in making a firm positive decision.

Medicine presently is blighted by quackery . Ultrasound study is not exempted. That is why opinion obtained via correspondence should still be subjected physically to a thorough medical review by a qualified doctor.

What is this one saying? Some of you are so dumb in thinking and reasoning. There's no Picture of Op or his wife neither did he display the name or other sensitive details of the wife. Sorry about your wife OP. The scan result says she has a pregnancy co-existing with fibroid.Yes fibroid is a threat to pregnancy however, once it has happened, patient should book pregnancy early and should ensure she is seen by a specialist (Obstetrician) for proper antenatal care. The baby can be carried to term successfully with the issues of fibroid in pregnancy anticipated and properly managed.In the case of your wife, the scan result says there is an 8-10weeks gestational sac with no embryo in it.This means the pregnancy is not viable. I will however advice you have a repeat scan at LUTH as a second opinion (you cant trust all scan results as ultrasound scan is operator dependent). She should be managed there. Wishing you and your wife the best.

Blighted ovum with 2 large uterine fibroids seen. The fibriods should be operated and removed before your wife's next pregnancy.

Blighted ovum can be caused by lots of things ; eggs not good, chromozone of the sperm not good, problems during the fusion of the sperm and egg, etc

Please get another docs opinion to confirm if its actually a blighted ovum. If it is, it will naturally abort in max of 2 weeks time.

Doctors in the house please i need help on this scan result.

My wife is 2 months pregnant or so and she was feeling serious pains and weakness which i thought its symptoms of early pregnancy so she went for a scan yesterday. She said she have fibroid which is preventing the baby from growing. That she should go for abortion which she is not in support of even me and they told her that if she risk it she will be feeling pains throughout the pregnancy and and she might even loose her life after childbirth. Am scared hearing this

Pls help me analyze this scan result or help me with suggestions. She will be going for further scan tomorrow.

It is not everyone who eats palm kernel that goes about with a grinding stone dangling from his neck. I can't say why the man still needed another interpretation, but if anything, that reply is sound enough to motivate him to believe in the doctor's methods; and hopefully motivate him to raise cash if money is a problem. Op, it's good you have decided on seeking a second opinion, and in a teaching hospital for that matter.
Had same issues with my first sons pregnancy, the first scan was talking about aborting it.
On second and third opinion, things became different.
I have a healthy boy from that pregnancy, he will be 4yrs on Wednesday.
Seek a second opinion, and pray.

If the scan is something to go by, I think a spontaneous abortion( which might be responsible for pain and weakness) has occurred, however there should be a history of vaginal bleeding.

It's a psychological issue. The brain is working faster than the hands thus forcing the hands to meet up make the writing almost illegible

relaxer triggers fibroid, but I got something that will help, get bara (bitter melo) wash cut into piece boil with pap water for 10mins then allow to cool drink 1 glass cup on empty stomach once in 3 days it shrinks fibroid. thanks. the result is indicating fibroid

Hello lady, if your argument is based on that link you or someone posted above then i am really sorry for you. Neither you nor those who did the study can boldly say that there is any relationship between using relaxers and uterine fibroid. You can read the study all over again. There are lots of studies out there but strength of evidence differs. The strength of this study is not strong enough hence don't propagate what is at best a theory.
