but emenalo was still active even though it was a local team every one knows...he was still playing...but in Gabriel case...he played no active football that season...
which coach will do that?
or call up....uchebo in place of imoh Ezekiel...or drop or ignore the likes of otigba just to part way for his boy azubiike egwekwe...

had it been an indigenous coach was still in charge...don't think some of this foreign groomed players will be on the GWG as it is today......

many a time the foreign coaches do better than the indigenous coaches not necessarily because they're better in tactics...but because of honesty and integrity....they uphold in team selection...
My oga i believe you are one of the monikers who always understand my simple comments cos i know icon4s will surely understand my point.

Pls read it again,I used Emenalo as a case study that not only local coach gamble but foreigners does.Emenalo left Nigeria in 1986 as a fringe eagles player went to states then Belgium later regional league with no clear performance and made WC team.

Pls as a coach would you take such player to WC?did you know if Westerhoff was a local coach he would be called $10k coach.

Let me tell you something about Rohr that make him different from other coaches,he really studied Nigeria political structure very well especially our NFF and only thing that can rubbish him is being biased and corruption and he learnt a lot after South Africa loss.

Did you know a lot of accusations came up after that loss, allegations of agents influencing called up.The NFF instructed Rohr that they must vet his list through technical committee,so the man had his unique style of doing things.

I understood you....
but I am trying to say...was that emenalo was still active and playing even though it was a regional league...but Gabriel's case was different...

moreover the messy things westerwolf tried then and get unpunished....no coaches date try such...because football over the years have improved...

it was bit more easier for Africa to win the world cup then...compare to now...

The bolded is of the reasons I said Shehu is the odd man out in that right back battle. He's got a mountain to climb and I'm loving it (the competition).

Just imagine Umar ahead of Kelechi, flanked by two wing wizards like onyekuru, Moses, Simon, iwobi, or a healthy Bazee. This is post Russian but feasible in Cameroun to start with.

Wetin you dey talk bros?umar ahead of who? Anyway you can only imagine.

Joel Obi Isn’t Injured: Super Eagles Spokesman Clarifies Player’s Situation

Joel Obi may not be injured after all and this will be cheering news to Nigerians who celebrated his call up to the Nigerian set up after four years in limbo, no thanks to injuries.
The team’s media officer Toyin Ibitoye informed on Saturday that the midfielder isn’t injured but he is being rested by the club this weekend and will be available for the tune up games.
‘Please Joel Obi is not injured. He is just being rested by his club this weekend. We are looking forward to having him with us for the 2 friendly games later this month.’
The Torino of Italy player was one of 28 players invited by Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr for the two pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia this month.

Kelechi Nwakali was spraying some very lovely passes in the centre of the park from a central attacking midfield kinda role... he was further upfront in midfield like an AM in a central role and always seen arriving just behind MVV's front men... I haven't yet checked the Formation MVV played with oooo... I just dey comment based om the little I saw in this video highlights shared by The Amiable Tbaba.

His goals were awesome... especially the second... I was like if the first goal was "Oh My GOD!" shocked ...then the second is "Ooooooohhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyy GOOOOOOODDDDDDDD!!!!!!" shocked shocked shocked My oh my.... but it was not just his goals that caught my attention, it was the way he was seen spraying those easy-on-the-eyes passes from his central role to the forwards diagonally.... Beautiful to see. I pray he keeps improving and can get his chance in the big leagues soon. I hope Arsenal can give him a chance if he continues like this.

any updates on ebuehi and joel obi's injury?

Joel Obi was precautionary. He felt pain in his thigh and Torino did not want to risk him. You have to treat my man like an egg. My guess is that, he will be fine.

Ebuehi, we do not know yet. Hopefully, he was pulled out as a precaution too

hehehe...well as much most want him in the world cup squad it is a bit of a good thing that joel isnt regarded as a sure starter for eagles..his injury issues could disrupt plans if he was.

Are you saying playing for university is good for national team cos i remember Emenalo was playing for university of Boston as a student but that was even before US 94.

After he left university he joined Moleenbeek through Keshi link and later had his contract terminated and went to regional league in Germany equivalent of division four before he emerged from nowhere and made the team.

My point is this there are some players coaches stick with irrespective of performance at club level in national team.

I know if Rohr is a local coach a lot would have question continuous invitation of Agbo Uche, this is a player that had not played a single minutes even in friendly.

I know Rohr as a local coach inviting Akpeyi would have been tagged a $10k bribe coach but as a foreigner he know what he is doing as if being a black man is a curse.

That's was not even the issue but why berating local coaches just cos of Gabriel whereas we have some foreign coaches that have made some questionable decision and we always find excuses for them

Truly the foreign coaches are the best and far better but the way some always come hard on our coaches without proof, like collecting 10k dollars before making WC,acts as agents, forgetting Westerhoff and Bonfrere Jo brought this to our system.

Well Stephen Okechukwu Keshi won highest trophy in Africa which his Afcon and made 2nd round at WC that made him all time best Nigeria coach if we want to based it on time spent compared to Westerhoff 5 years

I wish Rohr surpass this achievement cos anything short of quarter final at WC with this talented team would not be good enough cos am seeing some proposing lifetime contract,a good WC performance would do the talking and i wish my great eagles well and Rohr.
Sir I think tbaba1234 is justified in putting questions mark on Keshi's selection for the World Cup 2014. Your comparison with Westerhof taking Emanalo doesn't do justice to the truth. Look at Keshi's team to Brazil 2014. Only first 11. No bench. Is that what Westerhof did in 94? This shouldn't be about white coach or black coach. Look at the situation itself devoid of skin color. If Rohr does same he'd be criticized indeed some even still criticize his team selection and insinuate corruption. Keshi's selection for the WC was terrible. Was Keshi a terrible coach? No. He was a good coach who for reasons known to him and others like komekn made wrong selection. Doesn't come even a stretch close to Westerhof and Emanalo.

For one Emanalo that Westerhof took, Keshi took almost 11. We had just first 11. No bench. It was just too bad.

So musa can play the Left back, this guy is full of energy and can easily displace echiejile in that position.
