Testimonytime: Why not contact the helpdesk about the difficulty in booking the follow up appointment. I'm not sure you can use your husband's profile. |

njidekachi:The acceptance of lab test results from naija is dependent on the Doctor and not the hospital. So what you do is to call Doctor and ask if he/she accepts test results from naija. Getting accommodation in Richmond, VA aside from Airbnb is usually difficult but you could find based on referral from Family or friend where you'll have to pay a token (possibility is slim). One has to put ears to the ground to find that kind. |

Thanks Justwise and all the numerous contributors in this thread, please I have the following questions: 1. Please can someone post or recommend affordable hospitals with experienced doctors that have handled international patients. Personal experiences if possible would be highly appreciated. 2. Can someone give me an estimate of how many millions I should have in my account to be able to get this process over and done with efficiently. 3. We intend going for the interview sometime later this year, are there any advise or other information we can get. Just like Tescos "every little helps. 1 Like |

AroOkigbo: DW has neither gotten an acknowledgment email nor VOA letter up till now. Also, none of the people she knows that applied for VOA last week got any. Why can’t anything work seamlessly in this country? Have you gotten the letter now? |

Google passport office number and call them to expedite n pay over the phone. I think chibertha also put up their number on this thread. Visa on arrival has no way to expedite. Just hope n pray or keep sending emails. Call Air France Customercare line to add baby ticket n pay over the fone. Weperwema: 1 Like |

Hello All, I'm new to nairaland so following up on all the conversations has been overwhelming. I'm currently in the U.S to have my baby. I applied for drop box (b1/b2) and got my visa in January. travelled late Feb at about 32wks. At POE I was sent to secondary inspection and the stamped a May 1st return date which is approx 1 week after my EDD. They asked if i told them at the interview that i was coming to give birth, i said no, didnt have an interview. They seem shocked at first and had never heard of drop box. I'm sure I can't travel with a 1 week old newborn. I'm really confused. my original return trip is mid May. Pls I need your urgent advice. Thanks. |

Silver2010: This is a very tough one! Once you overstay by less than 180 days, your visa will be cancelled and it will be very very very difficult (not impossible) getting another visa to the U.S. If its more than 180 days you will be banned for 3 years and you get a 10 year ban if you overstay by 365 days or more. In my (very limited and inexperienced) opinion you have four options 1. Come back to Nigeria and have the baby 2. Do Nothing, Overstay and bear the consequences 3. File for an extension (it is advisable to file for extension 45 days before your authorised stay expires. Note that processing time takes 3-6months AND there is no guarantee that you'd get it) 4. Get the baby out at 38 weeks, get baby's documents and leave in 3 weeks. You can do this by a)Fasting and Praying for the baby to come out early b) being proactive and scheduling an induction or elective CS at 38 weeks. It is definitely a tough one For now, relax and take care of yourself and the LO 16 Likes |

MyEkwueme: It depends on Cost, Travel time, ease of adding LO to ticket and Personal preference. We have had great reviews on Qatar here and Mixed reviews on BA. Qatar has very strict rules about flying pregnant women and you have to abide by the rules to avoid being turned back (someone recently posted that she wasn't allowed to board). BA, is not as strict. Travelling from Europe to the US is way shorter than travelling from the middle East. The flight from Doha to US is longer than the one from London.e.g. Doha to JFK (New York) is about 14 hours but London to JFK is about 8 hours. Adding LO to your ticket is way easier and cheaper with Qatar... People have added their LOs with less than $100 on Qatar but I don't know anyone who has added their LO with less than $300 on BA (and indeed any European airline) Also, depending on the ticket you Get, you may be eligible for free hotel stay at Doha. Although sometimes this is dicey. My mum was eligible for hotel but was not given when she got to Doha (she said most Nigerians on her flight were not given the free hotel accommodation)... My husband was given when he travelled with Qatar (a week after my mum) and it was the same class of ticket as my mum's. Personally, I never travel to the US via the Middle East. I ALWAYS travel through the UK amd book the longest layover possible so I can go into London as it is second home to me. When I had my baby i went with Virgin, went into London, ate, slept, bathed and continued my journey (both legs). If you do have a UK visa you should consider breaking your journey as it is very refreshing especially if you have family or friends living in LONDON (I capitalised London because unless you want to spend a few days, it doesn't make sense making your way out of London to other parts of the UK). So, the choice lies with you! With all the advantages Qatar offers, I will still fly BA if I'm going to the US. 4 Likes |

Weperwema: Google Chicago passport office, call and tell them you need appointment for tomorrow cos you have to apply for visa. Go to the passport agency and you will pick up passport same day. When passport is out, apply for visa on arrival. Look for the process here Adding a baby on air france is not a big deal.. call the airline and tell them to add your baby. It can also be done at the airport. 1 Like |

Silver2010: You are in, you are in... 1. Request for extension 2. You can schedule induction from 39 weeks. Again this depends on your doctor What city are you? |

MyEkwueme: I must warn you though... When booking BA please make sure all your flights are BA. BA has an agreement with American Airlines (AA)and sometimes the flights to or from the US will be via AA. My DH and I have had the misfortune of flying with AA from Philadelphia to London ( we purchased BA tickets) and it was a terrible experience. So when booking your flights please ensure that it is BA all the way. I have learnt my lesson and I always check now! 1 Like |
