NoDulling4here: Spurs had not lost before juve. Barca has improved their defense massively but this is the worst barca in years. players make up the unit. pique and umtiti are great. alba also. Roberto is OK, not great. iniesta is not same as before, can still be magical. busguet is amazing as always. then Suarez will score when something is created for him. offensively, it is now actually all about messi for barca. watching them against Chelsea, you'd know that without Messi, they can be very average. And they need to score goals to win CL. look at their goals scored this season, it's declining. I agree about needing a crazy player like messi and Ronaldo. but this city team is Complete. they get goals, possession, energy, speed and creativity in their team. everybody is important but not crucial to their playing style. players just fit in like a part of the puzzle. to me, that's much better than the odd one superstar for a team. 2 Likes |

jelel6:You are just ranting over an overhyped football league, with tons of cash and money spent and a press that their hands and mouth rushes like a water fall... Go and check the head to heads epl vs laliga Italian league has gone into obscurity, even when Italy dominated, they still had to slug it out vs Spanish teams,... Try and wake up from your delusion, crosses are far better to watch than police football, ddg to lukaku, knock down, shot that's all, you wanna compare madrid football to what's been played in the epl, spits only man city can hold their head high, a 5th place selling club in the suburbs of Spain knocked out a money spilling, biggest team in Britain not by luck but dominated them in both legs playing expansive eye catching football, you came out to rant... NoDulling4here: I agree completely with you. Liverpool and City are Great. I would Say Spurs is even balanced than Liverpool. They were so so so unlucky against Juve home and away. I Think experience is overplayed here Sha. Spurs didn't lose because of lack of experience to me. when you're attacking for 70 minutes and only have to defend for few minutes, you tend to lose concentration when that time to defend finally arrives. Barca has been a victim of this against Chelsea in 2012 and in the past, are they not also experienced? playing well and losing is part of the game simple. 1 Like |

phaamsaam: Oga you're just spewing thrash trying to uplift your God-forsaken two horse-race league. Had to leave guest mode to correct all your jargon. Football is a big sport. Goes far beyond all the head to head trash that you're saying. I wonder what you expect from a league that accommodates the two world best players for over a decade. Hope you know that the EPL is the most watched league eh? Then I guess the majority of football lovers are watching an overhyped league right? Only El-classico pulls more crowd(relatively) than any other game in the UK. Like it or not, the EPL remains the best, competitive and most thrilling league. It is unpredictable, and that's exactly the other name for football. Your dumb league on the other hand is the exact opposite. Between two clubs and rarely, three. You take a walk in the park against the lowlife mid table clubs at weekends and come for the real show in European competitions. Unlike the English league. Every game is indeed important. EPL over LA Liga anyday. Argue with your battery. 4 Likes |

jelel6:You seem insistent on carrying on this argument, so I'll just give the facts about it and put the whole thing to rest. English teams did dominate, but it was only for three consecutive seasons and not as long as people here claim (claims based on hearsay I might add as I'm sure most of them never watched the UCL). The golden era for English football in the UCL was from 2004/2005 to 2008/2009, a period of 5 seasons punctuated by a Spanish dominant season in 2005/2006 during which they won both Uefa competitions defeating English teams in both finals. In total they dominated for 4 out of those five seasons, you're free to conduct your research as Wikipedia usually keeps a record of each UCL season. One other thing you should know is that there was never a season in which both R. Madrid and Barcelona were knocked out by English teams (it might happen this season, who knows), Barca was knocked out on three occasions (Chelsea 2005, Liverpool 2007, Man U 2008) and won it for the other two seasons (2006, 2009), while Madrid was knocked out once (Arsenal 2006). For the dominant seasons(2005, 2007, 2008, 2009), English teams had 2, 3, 3, 3 teams in the semi finals respectively which is why some of these newbie fans who heard tales of those glory days seem to think it was longer than it was. The first one (2005) wasn't really a dominant season as both semi final teams (Liv, Che) got there against the odds and qualified through tightly contested matches in which they were predicted to go out (you can also check this out), I added it for the fact that 2 of out four semifinal teams were English. This takes me back to earlier point above about English teams dominating for 3 seasons; they produced 4 quarter final teams in 2 out of those 3 seasons and 3 teams in the semifinal each season. The sad part about that dominance though is that they only won it once, so it's easy for those who never watched the UCL actively back then to dispute the dominance nowadays. I used to argue a lot back then, and the basis of my argument is this 'how can you claim that the EPL is the best when their teams can only win one UCL despite having 3 teams in the semi finals for 3 consecutive years?' To put that in perspective, the first time a league did that (in the UCL, I can't say if it was done in the old format, but I doubt it) was 1999/2000 by La liga and they played an all Spanish final. This was followed by Serie A in 2003, also an all Italian final; can you see the true dominance here? We even saw an all Spanish final in 2014 and 2016 with just 2 teams in the semi final. In the Uefa Cup/ Europa League, the same scenario occurred in 2006/2007 and 2011/2012 also an all Spanish final, so I'm sure you're now beginning to get the point. My advise to you is to ignore these type of arguments as you're not going to win by any kind of parameter, most times when people start this kind of argument, I just point to the Uefa coefficient index (you really need to study this in order to grasp the magnitude of the Spanish dominance, it's one that has never been seen before). The Uefa website shows the index record for the past 5 years, but I'd recommend you look for the ones earlier than that if you're interested in that kind of thing. I hope you appreciate my 'long essay' anyways. 3 Likes |

Bacteriologist:Epl deluded fan go and sleep... As u choke with your loss yesterday.... No wonder the two team league allowed their boys atletico and sevilla,( even bilbao had a taste of the cherry) to continue dealing with the epl, Fulham, middlesbrough, Chelsea comes to mind.. Those two clubs would dominate all the 5top leagues put together... That was coined from a quote from Jose on his second coming to the epl... If you wanna continue to be delusional and not see the light that's your headache .. The stats are there, the history is there, the blind can see... Would love to see atletico play Arsenal Arsenal in the europa so much for all the noise of being competitive when the league ended in December, and the points difference between the top two is as wide as Lagos lagoon.... The truth is the epl is competitive in mediocrity and below average range.. It's what I call pseudo--competitiveness... When more than 90%of the teams are competing along the mediocrity barometer, they think it's tight, difficult, but when they meet the best, they just cant up their pseudo competitive state 7 Likes |

Maiconyoung:if u wanna watch interesting league, go and watch naija league....you will see competition....epl is interesting because it's a competition of averageness, if arsenal plays Valencia now, will you say arsenal are favourites?...No.... La Liga has quality teams because of techniques...epl is about kick and run, I do admit it's interesting...i watch epl very much but you must call a spade a spade and shovel a shovel.... English philosophy of football doesn't work in the modern game of football, you need brains. I respect your points but we must first define the context of our argument.
