Each time I come here, I just end up being sad and depressed. When I see old people with long employment histories, properties and all that being rejected I begin to wonder if there is any hope for a young person with few years of experience, money in the account (fixed deposit) and no travel history.

All those people that spoilt our name... Taking nonimmigrant visa to migrate.

Well someone who seems to know much about denials gave me this reply yesterday on another group I belong.
Saw some truth in this but then what do they really want? This might apply to those who seek medical visa for child birth but look at it on the whole. This is how they view us.

Nigerian GDP per capita is a little above $2K in today’s standards. So, the wealthy in Nigerian standards might not mean much to a US consular officer. For instance, I am pretty sure, one who is making 10 or more times as much as the average person, is considered wealthy. Yet, this person, most probably will not be able to go under a burden of $30K and pay for it, if the child birth is complicated. Think about it, the wealthy Nigerian is making US$ 30K per year. Say he is 40 years old and he has been working at this capacity for the last 10 years. If he is lucky, with a wife and keeping up appearances of his successful life, he has a savings about $10K and I am being overly optimistic here, myself being from a 3rd world country myself. How can he expect to pay $30K for birth of his child in the US ? People who can pull this off are independently wealthy, like oil barons, real estate moguls etc in their own countries. Not someone working for wages or running a small scale business which is considered successful. US consular officer looks at this person’s condition and guesses if the mom will be a public charge in case something goes wrong or will she and her hubby be able to pay for the whole thing. And they will err on the side of caution every time.

My visa appointment is in a few days time. I have zero interest in remaining in the state. I got into a competition, which I really want to win because it will help me on the online project am working on in Nigeria. I have already started the project some years ago and so far 100,000 plus people in Nigeria have used it. The money will be used to expand/improve the project.

The organizers have paid for flight, hotel and all that. I arrive a day before the event and leave a day after.

I am already going through the different pages on this thread, just get sad when I see some transcripts.

hello gurus...i was the guy that ask for steps on how i can upload my passport on my ds160...your opinions have really helped me in Accomplishing that and I'm really grateful ...now on scheduling an appointment... I created the usual account on ustraveldocs and filled in my details in 'my profile' ... Completed the steps and added my dad in the family tab since we'll be traveling together...just saw my dad is showing as dependent...my question now is will it change anything during the interview or should i fill my dad's details in the profile and add mine as dependent because I'm actually the dependent one here grin

Apologies for the bolded grin
I really need to schedule as soon as possible...appointment is fast being booked....
Now till February 30th scheduled already shocked

Hi everyone, I am about to start the process of filling the forms for a family vacation, please I need to know if we should all fill separate forms, and if so, my kids are 5 and 3 years old, I noticed there is no provision for "does not apply" when it comes to spouse, what do I fill for them? Finally, how do I link all the forms, i.e, mine, my spouse, my 2 kids, together, so we can book for a family interview.

One more thing, I noticed in the aspect of relative in the US, I did not see uncle or inlaw as an option. I only saw spouse, fiancée, sibling...please help, or should I say I do not have when I do? That will be lying, or are those people not considered?

Thanks for the much awaited response.

Input your e-mail address, click on that "Forgot your Password" at the bottom and change your password or you call the CGI peeps and tell them you want to update your email address with a new one. You already have a profile with them and can not just start afresh like that even though you can fill another DS160 and use to update the former.

(to link the forms will be on the travel section where you will be asked if there are other persons traveling with you, there you can add their details

Your uncle or inlaw is not an immediate relative. click NO and another question comes up asking if you have any other relative in the US, then you can say YES

Thanks for the much awaited response.

Thanks bro for the quick response. But then, will the names automatically appear on the appointment page for family interview? and also, when filling for spouse and kids, they will individually be filling that they are traveling with their family, how does one handle that...?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by corrall(f): 3:47pm On Mar 17, 2018
Also, is it important that all applicants have the national identification number including children...?
