gallivant:Mr man! Hate us, love us, if Nigeria sneezes, Africa catches a cold. Nigeria with all her woes remains the GIANT of Africa, you can dispute that, but it's your damn business. Label us loud and arrogant folks we don't give a hoot because it is not our fault if our confidence outclasses your timidity - we are what we are, and like it or not we are and the world has to live with us. However, WE are our own biggest critics and will always call a spade a spade as it is evident through most our comments here. Let that sink into your thick brain boy! All that said, I repeat that Nairobi is like a city inside Lagos. Do not get intoxicated over this thread comparing Nigeria with Kenya, it's a wake up call to Nigerians, to ginger their leaders to live up to their responsibilities. By the way, you have taken advantage of our platform to showcase your country and we are happy we made it possible. We can never hate nor envy your country because no African country can match the combination of human and material resources that Nigeria is bestowed with. 1 Like |

4kDdullard: You are the clown. In fact its not just New York, other TOP cities can show why you are a clown Paris - 105.4 km² Berlin - 891.8 km² Singapore - 693 km² Kuala Lumpur - 243 km² Cairo - 528 km² Casablanca - 220 km² Capetown - 400.3 km² The reason Lagos is big in size is because it is overpopulated and invests in horizontal development instead of talls |

Everyone in the world can see you are intoxicated to the point of requiring deliverance from yourselves. The truth is that when Nigeria sneezes, everyone takes cover to avoid infection. Meanwhile, there has been serious flooding in Nairobi the past few days... Surely, the self acclaimed world 3rd best destination must have an effective and world class drainage system or is it just hype?? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Guys calm down, Kenya and Nigeria are both s*holes. Just look at our GDP per capita for both countries. Corruption is rife in both countries. One character you notice in the world is that usually more developed countries have less corruption. If you look at Africa, we have some of the highest corruption in the world. If African countries truly desire to come out of poverty and relieve itself of the stigma the world places on it, Corruption must be tackled, big time. Independent, strong institutions. Effective judicial system(eradication of delays, and punishment for bribery of judges) We all know of President Buhari and his massive anti-corruption campaign, but recently it has proven to be not effective as we have increased in the ranks of corruption ratings by Transparency International (TI). Buhari seems to be all about asset and wealth recovery and not so much about punishing the perpetrators. Should there be a death penalty for corrupt officials? Then what about the ordinary civilians. Corruption has infiltrated every stratum of society, from the police officer to student to the rich and poor. They need some type of punishment as well so as to end this menace! Does anyone have any suggestion on how Kenya and Nigeria can effectively tackle corruption? |

nwoke37: We need a death squad for corrupt officials. Every weekend all corrupt individuals should be rounded up and shot five times in the head. None other way can work in Africa 5 Likes |

nwoke37: Experts believe that the more the bureaucracy, the more people government funds get through and the more the corruption. The checks and balances put in the name of this clearance officer and that confirmation signature only make it worse. They are usually the cause of the problem as they get kickbacks, gifts, etc in order to release the funds. Being the checks of the system, they encourage misuse by being the first to illegally draw out from public funds. The solution is to reduce these people. Money should move straight from the exchequer to a ministry or a state/County government. That way if it gets misused you don't have 20 people passing the blame on each other. And its easy to prosecute offenders. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Danielnino00: Each city has its own flaws with its appropriate measures to curb the same environmental setbacks, its good that Nairobi has a visionary governor who's tackling the issue of drainage system not to repeat itself again following the massive torrential rain experienced past few days..meanwhile check out for makoko slums in Lagos, worst than Nairobi a dirty city indeed...This brings deplorables but they won't change a fact
