@Justwise While i understand that you have to apply strict measures as to how and who use the forum, i still suggest you accommodate people that can give or have given very vital and accurate information. All we should do is to look out for how they avail this information while also mentioning that folks should apply caution in who ever they get involved with. To be very honest with you, whether @Visaofficer1 or @Visaofficer0 is actually a visa officer or not, the quality of responses given today is typical of a knowledgeable person that might just be of tremendous help here. I noticed you deleted all his posts including the response to your question of him being a visa officer. Those information honestly are some of the most accurate i have seen on this thread in a long while. If i were you, i would have observed the moniker closely, observe how he/she interacts here or better still confirm from sources of his indulgence.( i noticed he even mentioned his name and where you can source about him) while also pointing it out clearly that people should be lerry of who and how the indulge with people they meet on here. Anybody can claim anything but what is more vital is the information given here and how they are presented. It quite unfortunate you didn't give him and members here a chance to get to see how he interacts with the knowledge he has. Disclaimer: i do not know@visaofficer1/visaofficer0 But i see much sense in his posts. 21 Likes 1 Share |

Austinpee4:Austinpee4, I agree on this, because the moniker by name visaofficer1 answers to queries are perfectly correct, most especially on the guy given 15 days ultimatum to provide a new bank statement and a letter from the bank attesting the genuinety of the bank statement, the guidelines given to the applicant is enough reason to show that the moniker visaofficer1 is an advanced person in immigration matters to Canada. I think, we need such an individual here, that will proffer perfect answers that will aid prospective applicants their study visa approval. I noticed he was banned twice by Justwise, which made him came back with another moniker Visaofficer0 . That wasn't too good. @Justwise , I crave your indulgence to look into that moniker and find a way to take off the ban you gave to him. We need such intelligent people here. Perfect answers with possible solutions. Thank you! 15 Likes |

justwise:I hope i can. But certainly, your action today didn't affirm the main essence of this forum and what it stands for. I hope you too would do better even as we acknowledge your effort in pinning out unwanted individuals, posts and atmosphere. It is certainly not about whether there is a visa officer here or not but most certainly about the quality and accuracy of the information provided to help people. But if we think everything and everybody is about scams, then too bad. A good strategy can help when you have to find out about one. Regards. 10 Likes |

Ratawu: Computing center/transcript unit isn't beside Faculty of science no more. It's now at admissions block beside Student Affairs/Niser Park. Go to Room 5. Don't just pay and turn back, expanciate on what you need the transcript for so I can give you adequate info. |

justwise:justwise, I'm not in any way persuaded that he/she is a Canadian visa officer. What I'm simply saying, is that the information he/she has, its something that is needed here. You should have given him/her chance to contribute their quota to this great forum. What the moniker has got to offer is very important. That was the essence of having this forum. We don't care if he/she is a visa officer or not. Let them contribute!!!! Edited: Within this short period of his/her stay, you can see how the moniker has gained popularity by intending applicants on this forum, everyone thought that a Visa officer(saviour) is here to solve all their worries, this is to show that if this moniker were to be chanced to stay on this great forum for a long period of time, then this forum will be above its sky limit All the same, the deed has been done, so we forge ahead. Cc: Visaofficer1 & Visaofficer0 , it's sad this could happen to you within 24hours of joining the thread. Please find a way to return back to the forum okay. But don't use the same name as a visa officer(It's not safe for you). Peace!!! 12 Likes |

justwise: We don't care if the person is a Visa officer or not, that doesn't count here, we are more interested in what he has to offer to the group...and for the past 24hrs he'd contributed greatly to this group. Justwise you should be flexible in situations like this and try to see things objectively. Don't deprive other people the opportunity of getting valuable information which is the ultimate aim of this group. 6 Likes |

When the first American visaofficer joined this forum 5yrs ago and started a thread i removed that thread and asked for proof that she is truly an American visaofficer, she quickly responded with email and names for confirmation which we did and was satisfied that she is not an impersonator. We currently have two American visaofficers here helping out without any issue. I asked this individual if he/her is a Canadian visaofficer, not just visaofficer but a Canadian visaoficer, the individual behind the ID gave unconvincing answer and continue posting. I blocked that ID and ask for a proof that he/she is actually from Canadian embassy. The individual decided to create another ID to tell me that his name is Clark and that he is a visaofficer then he went ahead to mention a website created by Immigration lawyer he knows. Clark who? There are thousand of Clarks out there, anybody can claim to be a visaofficer in a faceless forum like this, so i'm not fooled by that childish act. I expected a visaofficer from Canadian embassy to be professional and mature. 4 Likes |

makano: You are very correct, visa officers when they read application look out for elements of desperation and if they find one, can deny an application. Stay away from conveying high emotions in your SOP. Using words like "my great country Nigeria," "I love Nigeria" or any kind of begging that been offered admission in Canada is a great privilege that will change your life or anybody's life, is a giveaway. Stay neutral and convey only facts. Stay away from high emotions that show that going to Canada is a make or break. And this person asking if he tackled number 2, whether he would absolutely be given a visa, nobody can give that assurance. You can only do your best and hope for the best. The truth is you can submit everything and meet to all requirements and still be refused. The VOs are not easily predictable and enjoy considerable latitude in discretion. Best wishes! 1 Like |

justwise: That is right. I agree. His actions coming as VisaOfficer0 after been banned the first time as VisaOfficer1, is a giveaway. Certainly raises an eyebrow at least. There are names he could have chosen that allows him to contribute legitimately to the ongoing discourse. We are all for that. But that he decided to choose a name that would either create fear in people's mind whether there is a real visa officer here eavesdropping on our conversations; or one that misleeds people into thinking he is a visa officer due to his command of information, is the fatal error of judgement and hubris he committed. If Justwise will allow him come back with a less divisive appellation for a name, he is certainly welcome back to the table of discussion. 2 Likes |

justwise:To be honest, i didn't feel like posting again about this matter but this post drew my attention. @Justwise, is it about the fact that the moniker had @Visaofficer or the fact that all he posted were very accurate and very useful or that folks were assuming him to be a VO? The last i know prior to this ensuing 'Visa officer' issue is that the fellow was contributing without any mention of him being a visa officer, infact that wasn't buttressed in any part of his posts aside his moniker. Anybody can use a moniker. He didn't outrightly mention that he is a VO(Most VO on public forums won't anyway). It was you who asked him after you deleted all his posts and banned him not that he claimed being a VO prior to your question and i'm sure he registered a new moniker just to respond to the question you asked which some of us read. We all were interested in what he posted in response to people's queries and they were very useful. He did not asked for private PMs, money or advertised anything. Out of the blue, you banned him, deleted all his posts and answers to questions he had given folks who asked questions and possibly for those in similar situation simply because there is an assumption of a possible VO. It was very glaring that his posts were some of the most accurate and meaningful in a well written context and this is what we want here. It didnt matter if he is a VO or not. The least you could have done is to find out who he is, send him a msg and tell him the procedures here and be a little open and courteous for the simple fact that his post were accurate and helpful and just maybe it would have been the best approach. As much as i could tell, he has more information about this Canadian study path than a lot of us here. You don't just assume everybody has same intent because of what you had encountered previously. It's wrong. Give people the space to contribute when they have not violated any of the terms and conditions of being a member here. If they are of good or harm, time will reveal them to us. Simply advise people to apply caution as well as being careful and leave it at that. You expect someone to be mature and professional but you failed to show what professionalism is in your capacity as the moderator of this forum. Its not a good approach. There must be a structure before a flow. I admonish you to use all available resources available to you as the moderator here to make this place one of the most resourceful place regarding the Canadian study visa for both Nigerians and non-Nigerians using it. I take a bow out of this issue. Regards. 17 Likes |

jnyuwa02: Exactly! Already people here have started speculating that we have Canadian visaofficer in our midst, all i wanted to establish is whether he is one or not because the only person that registered that ID here is actual American embassy VO. He wasn't forth coming with a straightforward answer and when that ID was blocked he registered another one. I have to be proactive and when i see something suspicious i take appropriate action. Meanwhile my transcript in on transit to them as i speak infact its meant to get to them by close of business today. My grievance is they did not contact me in any way to give a deadline as regards my application. I have spent more that 80k just to send trancript and documents to these guys. Dont know what to do . Your candid advise is needed. |

nogara: So sorry buddy!! Why did you not upload to the portal directly before an official transcript reaches them? They are very strict and tardiness in submission is a negative against your application. I will advice you send a letter asking reconsideration based on extenuating circumstances of mail delay. If you have a tracking number so they know it was circumstances beyond your control, enclose it. Send the reconsideration request to the person who signed the letter of rejection. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by nogara: 10:52am On Mar 22, 2018 |
I will send a mail to that effect. They requested the transcript must come from my Institution. I seriously hope and pray they reconsider since its a cancellation and not rejection. But then, they never sent a reminder mail or whatsoever to issue a deadline before cancellation. jnyuwa02: |
