looking likely. I am also seeing a situation whereby 2 formations are used by Rohr. Tomorrow's tomorrow, I'm more interested in their wears than the football match itself But then i still would want to see how both Gks and FBs fair. solonnachi: 1 Like |

Certitude: Did I say I am the only one? Yes, you can vehemently disagree for Martins invitation, the same way people vehemently disagreed the invitation of Joel Obi siting it will disrupt team spirit and team cohesion but from what we are hearing from the camp there is nothing like that, their insinuation is void and nulled. Why can Aluko get invitation? |

Where's Ebuehi? Didn't he play. He's one player I would like to see start the game tomorrow, along with Joel Obi, Francis Uzohor, and Brian Idowu. Let's see how they would perform in the team. O pari TheSuperNerd: 3 Likes |

forgiveness:Can you point one person that kicked against Joel Obi citing team spirit as reason? Almost everybody supported the invitation of Joel Obi. The only caveat was his injury Seems like the only reason you list so many players for invitation is so you can gloat and say 'I told you so'. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

MetalJigsaw: It wont be a big blow, we better lose now than in the worldcup, we still have time to fix our self. back to history books, our best worldcup in 1994, we lost all but one of our friendly game against lesser teams, it was even worst in 1998, when teams were disgracing us in friendly, Holland beat us 5-1, I remember watching that game, our keeper baruwo "omo Alhaja" was so poor, I'm not sure he made the worldcup team. Win or lose nothing spoil 4 Likes |

oloriooko: Firstly, the number one aim of this team now is to build for the 2018 WC. And then secondarily build for future. Building for future is also hinged on performance in the 2018WC. Now, if the team loses 4-0 to Poland it definitely does not mean the team is useless. But this is a kind of result we don't just say "forget, it is just a friendly". I have personally tipped Poland as favorites in that game but I would be happy for us to win but even if we lose we should give a good account of ourselves thereby giving us hopes of a better game against Serbia. Now on winning against Argentina. Yes it is a friendly but it has become a major confidence booster. We tried a formation that worked. And it means it is a formation we can also play. We put that into the bag. If we had lost with that formation it would have been a major set back as the coach may not be too comfortable with us playing it. So it is important that we get results from the various options we experiment on. 4 Likes |

Humility017: Guyz on this thread are not even talking about the snub because we have young capable fullbacks and we've got someone like Deji-Beyreuther coming up. And when you consider that fullbacks might still come up through the U-20 and U-17, one will realize that Nigeria is not desperate to have Jordan. At least we have tried to convince him ( even promising him a slot in our WC squad). We can only wish him all the best 6 Likes |

World Cup: Rohr identifies Super Eagles’ major problem Published on March 22, 2018 By John Owen Nwachukwu Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has identified goalkeeping as the biggest problem with his Super Eagles team. The Franco-German said getting a replacement for Carl Ikeme who was diagnosed with Leukaemia, has been a major issue. He said his goalkeeping problem persists ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He told Przegld Sportowy, “It is true. Our problem is Ikeme’s illness (he was diagnosed with leukemia)’’ Rohr also said his captain John Obi Mikel will have to undergo rigorous training with the national team ahead of the 2018 World Cup. He said this was because the Chinese Super League was not too competitive. Mikel who plies his trade with Tianjin Teda, will miss out on the Super Eagles last friendly with Poland on Friday. Asked if Mikel’s transfer to China is a problem, Rohr added, ‘’It might be a problem once, but the level has risen there. “Before the World Cup there will be a break to bring the players to a good physical condition.’’ 1 Like 1 Share |

Martz101: Good. I was expecting this example to come up. The 98 team was just coming back together after a long time of inactivity. Remember we were banned from the 1998 AFCON. The friendlies reveled lots of holes in that team. But... that team had quality. We all knew that. Expectations were still high despite the friendly loses. Remember Rufai and Eguavoen were called back. Oparaku was dropped but recalled due to injury to Jero Shakpoke. These were some of the shake-ups that took place after those humiliating defeats in the friendlies. That team could play and we knew it. Then also whether you perform well in friendlies or not does not completely imply you will have a good tournament or not. But one thing is sure, any team that is not well grounded, if they start well in a tournament even if they were poor in friendlies , they will come crashing when it matters most. So it is vital that you do well in your preparations and still transfer it into the tournament. This will ensure the team stays on top even beyond the tournament. |

Icon4s: is good to do well in your preparation but does not translate to success in the main event, I remember before 2002 worldcup, NFA led by Ibrahim Galadima and our Coach Onigbinde "sitdown look" organised just one friendly for the eagles against kenya, just because they want us to look wonderful. I will love Poland to show us our weakness, I want lewandowski to bully our oyibo wall, all I'm clamouring for is the fans to reduce there expectation during this friendly, I will be very happy for us to win but i wont be sad if we lose 2 Likes |
