My predictions for this match are a 2:2 draw.

The SE do not have to go all out gung-ho we want to be compact but using the speed of our players to get them on the break.

The world cup isn't far away, it's a friendly don't want any injuries. It's a test of preparation, and some final tweaking.

Ighalo for me is pivotal to this game. I suspect Rohr will try two different formations all to get some variation and further understanding of his players.

I would like to see Aina at RB Idowu at LB see the communication between our CB's Ekong, Balogun it's that special understanding that creates a good solid defensive partnership to build things from.

Midfield without Mikel means the other Obi has to step up. I would have liked to see Sone Aluko getting a chance but NFF politics will not allow that. Because right now we really don't have many creative midfielders. I am not convinced Iwobi has the maturity for that role yet, good but more to learn.

The Polish midfield will not over run our midfield if we remain disciplined and compact. My first choice trio, Onazi, Ndidi and Obi.

Multiple options up front to choose the forward line from as well as differing combinations and formations. So its all good for Rohr to vary as the game progresses.

This will be a tough game Poland are at home and will want to win for Pride and Glory.

I admire his faith and resolve. But no player has turned down Nigeria and gone ahead to really cut it in international football.I call it the Nigerian curse. I am not wishing him bad ooo. Not at all. But those are the facts. Moreover the German production line is heavy with talents waiting and more popping up.

Before somebody mentions Olisadebe just remember Olisadebe did not turn down Nigeria. He nationalised and played for Poland. Alaba too never rejected Nigeria. In fact he waited and waited and no call came. The naija curse is real. Oga Kog45 please give us a run down of those who have rejected this beloved Gwg.

I think we need to go back to memory lane to talk about FB who willingly made themselves available, those that rejected us and those we rejected.

In 1980 we have a FB named Tunji Banjo who came all the way from England and made 1980 Afcon winning team.He was the first FB to play for Nigeria and had a memorable tournament with the likes of Christian Chuckwu,Segun Odegbami and Adokiye Aimesemeika.

John Chiedozie made himself available and had few caps for Nigeria in 80s

I remember we later had Reuben Agboola who made Senegal 92 team and had a good tourney.

John Shittu had a wonderful experience with Nigeria with Afcon and WC experience.

Abbey George also had afcon appearance for Nigeria

Efe Sodje had World Cup appearance with Nigeria

Sammy Sodje too had few caps.

Hope Akpan had few caps.

Sone Aluko too had few caps even represented Nigeria at U20 WC.

Good recently we have the likes of Vic Moses, Leon Balogun,Alex Iwobi,Ola Aina,Ebuhei, Brian Idowu and Ekong Troost doing well with eagles presently.

Justin Fashanu was a very solid striker who never identify with Nigeria like John Fashanu. He was the first black player to signed a £1m contract in the world though never get a call cos he was not even willing.I remember he came down to Nigeria with John for the first time in 80s through MKO Abiola and Sebastian Williams Father to Kojo Williams.

Remi Moses was an ex Manchester United great midfielder who played between 1981 - 1989 as a regular but still surprised nobody knew he was a Nigerian and no approached from NFF.

John Fashanu rejected us and had two caps for England in friendlies. He tried to get his way back after our qualification for US 94 through Chief Akinwunmi the father of present NFF vice President but outcry from fans and press stopped him.

Gabriel Agbonlahor rejected us but later came out and said he was never approached to play for Nigeria and he had two appearances for England.

Nnedum Onuoah was a solid player that was given a wild card to represent Nigeria at 2014 WC but turned Nigeria down, waiting endlessly for England invitation.Later regretted his action and his mother didn't help his situation cos she insisted that her son want England.

Ugho Ehiogu was never approached so i cannot really blamed him but he should have been a great Eagles defender if we approached him.

Carlton Cole was willing but the rules at that time ruled him out.The rule stated that a player that played official youth match is not allowed to play for another national team and Cole was ex England youth player. He came down to Nigeria with Okocha and Kanu believing they can turned things around but the FIFA laws was cleared.

Cole went back to England dejected and following week he got England call and made his debut in official match but funny enough the following week after his debut FIFA changed the law that youth players can changed nationalities,no way for him again though he had few caps for England.

David Alaba was ever ready but his agent didn't help his situation. He went through third party who know nothing about NFF and was told U 17 is for homegrown.A very strong member of Austria team, honestly a great loss.

Dele Ali to me never a Nigerian though his real root is Nigeria cos he never see himself as one, nothing to say on a player who don't really reckon with his parents.

Manuel Akanji truly identified with Nigeria through his Father Murphy Akanji,a good CB who but funny enough he was never approached by NFF before he made his official debut for Switzerland, another loss.

Kenneth Otigba waited patiently but never get a call until recently when he was named in Hungary team, painful,Otigba refused to honour Hungary euro invitation cos of Eagles.

Oh Emma Olisadebe really wanted Nigeria but NFF didn't see him as someone that can compete with the likes of Kanu,Aghaowa,Yakubu and Agali until he naturalised and turned out for Poland.

Truly those who rejected Nigeria never had a good national team career.

Modified... Efan Ekoku was another FB who willingly turned out for Nigeria and he was member of prestigious 94 afcon winning team and also US 94 squad.

Dickson Etuhu had great time with eagles especially at Afcon and WC,he turned out for Nigeria with no hassle.

This guy has shown consistent integrity from day one making it clear that he wants to play for Deutschland and not Nigeria.

However, we have consistently bent over backwards publicly and behind the scenes. He has refused but nobody is asking for his head and calling him unsavoury names. Smacks of a double standard seemingly, I wonder why ❓ Particularly seeing the extent of hate speech Tega got.

I know some will not like this. I am not convinced that he is better than Dominic Iorfa.

Anderlecht were in terrible form anyways.. They have now won three games in a row.

Onyekuru would add value to the team when fit but there are few spaces for grabs.

It is no news that Onyekuru adds something to the Eagles team that is currently unavailable. Something which can cost us in the Finale.

It's for good. Germany didn't have an x-factor player in 2014 yet they went all the way. I doubt if they even have one now.

Don't get me wrong: individual players with outstanding abilities can make a lot of difference but since we don't have we have to rely on our strength as a team.

He said earlier "his father did not want him to play for Nigeria". That is a different statement from the one above. The one above is more of a direct commitment to Germany by the man not a man saying what his father told him.

The way, the whole Tammy affair played out turned out to be disrespectful. That is the main reason, he gets stick. Talking about red carpets and all. A simple respectful statement would have sufficed.

Perspectives, I am not convinced Iorfa is better than him.

Dominic was a bonafide regular at Wolves playing good quality on the deck football since the age of 18 winning considerable accolades in the process.

Then comes Mendes into the Wolves equation, new Portuguese manager and he was eased out for Portuguese players. Has to go to a kick and rush team like Ipswich Town.

They are in the same age range.

Educate me what makes Jordan so.much better ❓

House, i tink Super eagles RB/RWB depending on formation is the most competitive position in the team cos the 4 players competing for one(if its 3-5-2) or 2(if its 4-4-2) spots are all playing week in, week out for their various clubs. Shehu, Aina, Ebuehi, and Victor Moses. Final 23man list for the worldcup will really be tough for Rohr if all these players are fit come June. I guess Idowu will be happy and thanking his luck that he is a left footer and has only Pa Echiejile to contend with. The summary is that, Idowu has more chance to make the world cup list than Ola Aina cos even if the latter can play left back too, Rohr will always go for a natural specialist in that position...Goodmorning house

Germany is a compact, direct, pressing team. They heavily rely on wearing teams down.

Nigeria is a counter attacking team even when favorites, I am not particular of the ability of Henry to dribble but on his ability to hold possession.

Possessive players attract players in that way freeing teammates. Watch Onyekuru's clips, both club and country, and you'll notice he usually has at least two markers on him. You dig?

Attacking Midfielders are playmakers, something Moses is far from. Moses' best ability for country is his confidence, which comes from him being exalted cause he is a regular for Chelsea. He is the total opposite at club level.

honestly, I kind of want us to lose today.

Not a humiliating loss. The kind of loss that would make the fans and opponents applaud us.

I beieve through mistakes we would get better.

It's better we lose now and know our weaknesses before the wc.

Also I hope too many changes will not be made because that might upset the tempo.

We have identified our weaknesses from games past and have been working on them.

My expectation is for us to see if we have improved on our weaknesses and not for us to lose so as to identify new weaknesses. Even if there are New weaknesses I would not want them to be too bad.

You are as good as your recent stats. Stop looking for excuses. Later u will shift goal post for another player who plays outside England. Is Iorfa among the best in the Championship currently? Capital NO.
Aina is, and he is in the SE set up.

We reward performance.

komekn:

Dominic was a bonafide regular at Wolves playing good quality on the deck football since the age of 18 winning considerable accolades in the process.

Then comes Mendes into the Wolves equation, new Portuguese manager and he was eased out for Portuguese players. Has to go to a kick and rush team like Ipswich Town.

They are in the same age range.

Educate me what makes Jordan so.much better ❓
