Well from what l saw, defensively Ebuehi positions himself better than Shehu, and even though he attacks he is not easily caught out of position.

I gave the benefit of the doubt too Shehu more experienced and seemingly first choice.

This is Ebuehi second game and if he is clearly better than Shehu then isn't ot time for him to be dropped.

But this is what progression is about testing and evaluating players to establish who is best.

So far Aina has not really been tested.

I still think we need to look at tried and tested players who have been omitted from the party and not even been allowed an opportunity to compete.

Why is Sone Aluko out of favour?
Rohr isn't interested in his services. He isnt looking his way.

to be honest Ighalo played below par yesterday...he was always missing in the opponent team yard box....and could not make use of the aerial balls...not really interesting for me...

I will want Gabriel and Ajayi to be tried out...in the serbia friendlies....and Ighalo rested

Are you talking about Gabriel Rueben Then it's a no no.

Not goo enough.

No he is talking about Gabriel Okechukwu from CHAN.

The guy is Okay but we need to test many strikers, from the way Ighalo plays (and played yesterday) it is obvious he needs a partner, he is definitely not a center forward. I remember a SKY SPORTS interview where he said he had to leave watford because they were playing 4-3-3 and he was asked to play on the wings.
The only time he really excelled in his career was when was paired with Deenay. Super Eagles need to try 5-3-2 the last time that they tried it was against Argentina and it worked out fine.

Akwa United striker Gabriel Okechukwu has told SCORENigeria he is the first Super Eagles player in London ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup warm-up against Serbia.

The CHAN Eagles star had missed the first friendly against Poland Friday night due to visa issues.

“I am already in London, I arrived on British Airways by 6.45 am yesterday,” he disclosed to SCORENigeria

“I have been at the hotel gym to keep fit before the arrival of the team.

“I am so excited to be among one of the best young teams preparing for the World Cup, it is a good feeling, and I am now waiting on the whole squad.”

The Eagles are due today in London from Poland.

Okechukwu said he believes the Eagles can also go past Serbia on Tuesday in London just as they beat Poland in Wroclaw.

“I am glad we won yesterday and we can still win our second friendly against Serbia,” he said

Players play to win friendlies these days... Poland certainly wanted to win in front of their home fans..
Just imagine some folks claiming it was just a friendly.
Friendly or not would Poland want to lose that match in their own backyard? In front of their own fans

no...I mean Gabriel Okechukwu from CHAN..

from your question..it seems you have little knowledge of the players called up in the super eagles...then how come you know those borough players and obafemi Martins are way better than these crop of players you don't even know...
I even doubt if you do watch super eagles matches be it Chan team or the main team....

This is Nigerian team has a making of a champion. First half we were in the heart of their defence, 1st ighalo shot that went way over the bar, then ighalo shot that was blocked and nacho cldnt control in the 6yard box. Then iwobis dummy dribble, then ighalos. We matched them in the midfield with just two midfields. Joel fought, ndidi fought like a tiger. Nacho hussled, ighalo persevered. Whenever we break on the counter they hack us down. In a world cup game, the poles will receive nothing less than 2 red cards yesterday. Immediately Onazi came in for Joel our midfield collapse and Ogu was brought in to stabilize things, which he did and we had some few chances to kill the game. The only mistake Joel made was shooting on goal instead of releasing a free striker on the counter.
I look in awe a midfield combo of Joel, Mikel and ndidi. Joel, onazi and etebo. Mikel, ndidi and onazi. Ogu, joel and etebo. Ogu, joel and ndidi. Joel, onazi and ndidi. On Tuesday, start ndidi, ogu and onazi bring Joel in the second half and see.
These team will shock the world mark this space.
@ tbaba 1234, I sight you bro.

Point of correction: midfield didn't collapse when Onazi came; we were simply outplayed in midfield same as in Argentina game.

We don't need to control midfield to win matches. We just need good defense which we do and sharp attack which we have.

I agree with you that we will shock the world. I'm going further to say that we'll win the world cup.

The mindset of seeing criticism as a bad thing is that of stagnation and backwardness.
As a work in progress, this team has so many grey areas. As fans and people that watch the game critically, it is our duty to point out these grey areas in hopes that they are polished, that is what criticism is.

Unless we want to lie to ourselves that Uzoho is a finished product, most of the criticisms here are warranted.

It is left to the technical crew to work on these criticisms and get Uzoho to the shape that is befitting of a world Cup goalie.

We are on the brink of great things here, we shouldn't let pride and stubbornness hinder us.

Can Francis Uzoho shoulder Nigeria's World Cup ambition?

It is scant consolation, but there is some comfort in the knowledge that every national team has a weakness. Unlike club football, with its billionaire oligarchs and rampant avarice, in international football, God or fate or genetics (take your pick) deals you a hand, and you have to roll with it.
Well, it's consolation for the opponent, of course. Not so much for the team in consideration, so tantalizingly short of a full house. There is, as such, a tendency to magnify this flaw, in the same way a pimple seems to draw the eye, and fingers.
This perfectly explains the borderline hysteria around the uncertainty of Nigeria 's goalkeeping situation. By no means is the national team overflowing with world-class talent, but whereas the youngest average age of all the World Cup teams imbues a sense of hope and potential, there is no such comfort between the sticks.
There is young Francis Uzoho , though. Still only 19, he has a modest career in the Spanish third tier as credential, and in his favour, the trust of the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr.
That latter has ensured the former consideration has not adversely affected his chances, and on Friday he started in goal for Nigeria for the first time.

Given the peculiarity of his situation, as well as Rohr's, it was imperative that the German tactician reach a decision quickly regarding his preference, and also back his horse, as it were. Ikechukwu Ezenwa, incumbent in the position for much of qualifying, had yet to convincingly stake his claim, and has played one game this year for club side Enyimba.
It appears now that Rohr has shown his hand. The early signs are decidedly mixed. There were bloopers, shaky handling, and instances of weak kicking. Twice, he was completely at sea on set-piece deliveries, one of which resulted in what might have been the opener, had the referee's assistant realized the ball had crossed the line.
Then, in the second half, there was a calm, and greater authority in his decisions. He seemed more relaxed in his area, more in-control.
This pattern, considering the context, was to be expected. Making his full debut in the packed Stadion Miejski, nerves were not only understandable, but inevitable.
The greater testament was his growth through the duration, adjusting to the demands of the game as time went on. By the time he pulled off a big save one-on-one from Robert Lewandowski, his confidence was brimming.
It is imperative now that he starts again on Tuesday against Serbia in London, not least because this represents the baseline being raised in a sense. Building on this new level of confidence is surely the best way to get Uzoho where he needs to be for the World Cup.
He is not the finished article, by any stretch of the imagination. However, it is time to look reality dead in the eye: Vincent Enyeama has torpedoed, once for all time, the idea of a return, and Ezenwa isn't any more reliable.
There will be no perfect goalkeeper springing fully-formed from the sea, no Nigerian Gianluigi Buffon appearing out of nowhere like a foundling carved out of onyx.
What we do have is a collection of middling options, with which we have to make do.
We must accept that there will necessarily be mistakes, and work both with and around that.
Uzoho showed, in that second half at least, that he is up to the challenge.
How the technical crew handles it from here on out will be key in determining whether or not he rises to the occasion when the Super Eagles kick off against Croatia in June.

Thank God you are not our coach. Go and tell Southgate to take Rooney to the WC. Rohr’s preference is visible to the blind.

Same here. Reached the same conclusions myself. Ebuehi positions himself better both offensively and defensively. And he knows how to dispossess without fouling. he's definitely a more refined player than Shehu. And don't forget that Ebuehi was playing with injuries yesterday as well.

Tyronne Ebuehi would be our starting RWB/RB in Russia. Mark my words!

A big Congrats to the team.Winning a lewandowski led poland is not an easy feat.

My Observations:
Brian did well but
does not get involved in Wing plays,he is not a ball playing WB and is too defensive minded. He is the reason for our weak left side. We need to give Aina another chance.

Shehu did well in the RB position but Ebuehi is still ahead of him anytime, any day.

We have Aluko, and what of Kingsley Sokari? even Nosa lgiebor has been completely forgotten.
To strengthen the team, we don't need an Agu since we have so many good players in his position. We need a Samuel Kalu, Sone Aluko, Ajiboye(Aiyenugba) and a fit Onyekuru , and we are set for the world cup.
That Samuel Kali is in red hot form. A good dribbler, pacy, full of agility and a goal threat too

I think Onazi will do fine as an AM as well. It depends, Joel may be instructed to do more going forward. He is very confident with the ball. I've always believed he is one example of a versatile midfielder.
