Muafrika2: This certainly will be something of great importance to the African nations. But it will not yield much if our porduction capability remains low. Africa basically depend on importation, but if we can harness our given resources with our collective knowledge then it will be a thing of pride but for now i see some countries like kotounu importing items from abroad and selling to other african nations. A Free trade zone is better of if it will test our drive for economic stability. We have agriculture which to me is a multi-billion dollar venture. We have wild life, natural resources. We basically have it all. We just need to be educated in these various areas of what we posses as a nation so when the time come for our generation to take over power we would be solely dependent on ourselves as Africans rather than seeking for intervention from the western world. |

Jay254: Socio media and intellectual gatherings is the key. We must start with talking. Telling others about this event. Try our best in including the girls and women. The women believes mostly on the youths than the old people who they know continue to say thesame thing over the years. I will come up with the website or if any of you can get an old website that is already funtional, then we can procure it amd start now. We need to start building it and more importantly getting audience and making more and more people aware of the new revolution. If we start now successfully. Before 2030 the youths all over Africa must have taken over government. This is a dream that desires much hard work and dedication. If we the youths spend so much time online on daily basis then lets use thesame time to develop our collective goal to taken over government all over Africa where the young and intelligent minds can transform Africa into a paradise that would be an envy to the entire world. Lets make Africa a visiting place rather than an exploiting region. My brothers if we can achieve this even the blacks in america and in europe will be proud to call themselves Africans rather than African American. 1 Like |

Jay254:What? What is in Rwanda aside from Kigali? Even then, Kigali isn't that developed. And are you really comparing it to a homicidal dictator with various human rights abuses in the Congo?? Yes, there government has been trying with education and tech, but just because one city gets named the cleanest is Africa doesn't mean the country is making it. Typical African mentality. 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, I would like to join this debate as someone sent this thread to me. This is hilarious to me. It seems the premise of this thread is to prove which African Nation is less bad lol. This is hilarious because where I am I have friends from Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ghana and ect, and there is a constant debate on which African Nation is worse . I guess one has to save face if you are online and in your own country. What's hilarious is that regardless of where you are from in Africa, you complain about the same issues, safety, water, electricity (to a point), corruption, bad and expensive health care and hospitals, education sector, lack of jobs ect. Trying to decide which one is better on a long internet thread is useless. We are all seen equally as bad in the eyes of foreigners, aside from South Africa for obvious reasons. Foreigners complain about the same issues in almost every African Nation from Kenya to Nigeria . I know some of you have superiority complex, but in general, no African country is seen in a better light . I wonder why threads like this are so long but not threads about the increasing Chinese investments in various African Nations. While you guys keep scrambling over which mediocre African Nation is better, everyone is talking about how China is recolonizing Africa . I guess trying to prove others are in worst situations than you makes someone sleep better at night. Collectively, African countries have failed. No first world country when most got their independence around the same time as Asian countries. You can blame European colonialism and blah blah, but that only works to a point. The best African countries with the best infrastructure or economies are ones where whites were heavily involved in their infrastructure, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa. You can claim all you want that blacks had a hand in building, but they were mostly laborers. My friend just came back from Botswana and Namibia and she was talking about how in all the expensive places you can only find whites, and that as a Black African they looked at her like she didn't belong. I am no patriot just a realist. I will say this though Country with better infrastructure and electricity-Kenya Country where most businesses are more likely to be owned by local than foreigners-Nigeria Country with less corruption----Hard as all African Nations are fantastically corrupt, they only look less corrupt when comparing with Nigeria |

My only other question is is there a Kenyan site where Nigerians are in Kenya's business like this lol? What's the point on going on a nairaland forum and acting shocked when Nigerians defend their country. What's the point on going on a Nigerian forum and berating Nigeria 24/7. You guys keep saying you want to change your subject but you can't. You need to prove to Nigeria that your country is better, but why? Most Nigerians here wouldn't be visiting Kenya. There is no purpose? Why is it so important to prove that your country is better? Are you getting paid to promote tourism in Nigeria ? You claim you are here to defend your country from Nigerians, but to be bluntly honest Kenya hardly gets mentioned in nairaland. Nigerians are too busy cursing Nigeria left and right to really think of other African Nations like that. If you want an honest and objective debate why not try the Nigerians actually living in Kenya? I don't even think Nigerians think of African countries like that aside from SA and the ones nearby. I would imagine this is the same with Kenya, so why so many of you guys here? For all the Kenyans here, no offense but what's the point of berating Nigerians in Nigeria? You guys claim its to fix their delusions and arrogance, but what's the point? Most of them wouldn't suddenly change their mind as evidenced by how long this thread is. 2 Likes |

shadowhunter15: It's the biggest forum in Africa. Just like our entertainment industry dominates the continent, nairaland will as well. No worries, it's natural(predestination). Other African countries on Nairaland shouldn't worry you. It's exciting. We get different perspectives. I want nairaland to even grow more, and see countries like Congo, Tanzania, Sudan, Angola... etc I won't be surprised if nairaland becomes more pan African in the future. It's inevitable... |

Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by shadowhunter15(f): 2:12am On Mar 25, 2018 |
Jay254:You are very confusing and nasty lol. As for the trade agreement, many here agree that Nigerian's don't really need it for now and that it won't benefit Nigeria. Nigeria needs to improve infrastructure and manufacturing first. It isn't being cowardly, but its an honest truth. Nigeria needs to tap into its huge market first before opening it. I hope Nigeria doesn't sign. Only people who are excited are the ones who need to expand their markets. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Nobody: 5:20am On Mar 25, 2018 |
KingGBsky:This is a valid concern. All African countries have pe-existing bilateral trade Agreements with a European European country with a trade imbalance, Europe bringing in finished products and taking raw products. This may be one of the reasons that the pacts may be looked at as a threat to the preexisting status quo. It was one of the major concern of EPAs too. That only one country in Ecowas for example needed to sign for European products to sneak into the block countries. It is possible to establish a control though. That a country can only trade with products that originate wholly from its territory. EPAs have a similar provision. This will take serious policing and institutions. Exactly. Most of our trade is with Europe. We export raw products to our colonial masters, which they transform into finished products and sell to our African neighbours. You see, the European import market is so strict such that it's impossible for an African country to export finished products. They have a million rules that keep changing. This means that African industries can never grow so long as our only trade partnership is with Europe. Kenya can start buying cassava floor, etc from Nigeria under the African Free trade Area. And we can start selling you our flowers, coffee, traditional vegetables. |
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by KingGBsky(m): 7:13am On Mar 25, 2018 |
Muafrika2: Our leadrrs signed this pact with them when they got their independence. The problem is that after so many years they are still dependant on the European nations. The world bank does not exist for the European or united nations but for the African countries to remain indepted to them. A Free Trade Zone signed at this money of time will be totally controlled by the powerful allies of our various African nations all over and it must benefit the European trade equality. Take a look at Nigeria. Nigeria is the biggest trade zone for China, America and other European nations. Nigeria invest in quality education outside the shore of the country. Same with power because China makes billions of dollars importing power generating sets in the country. Our roads are still being built by European companies, same with food importation. We are almost totally depended on them for a very existence. Crude oil which is suppose to have transformed Nigeria to the best among nations is still export outside the country and later imported back. Yjis is far the worded form of governance you can ever imagine in the entire universe. This has remain the same since the discovery of oil. Taking over government gives us light and a conscience for development. We don't need 10nyeats to build a nation. All we need is policies. Important policies isbwhat built Dubai from 1996 to this time. Which is just 22 years now 1 Like 1 Share |

Another thing we should we should take into consideration os the act and way our police are designed, anti-human. Same with the military. The government has made sure they put the police in place to opress the people and therebybrestrict their activities. In a country where the citizens don't enjoy total freedom there will always be fear of developmental drive. This hinders progress of human resources. Military are not suppose to grease the streets of a nation. They are only called upon if need be in times of war or territorial breach. In Nigeria the army are even used as escort to politicians. This and more are to be addressed. I am here in Cyprus today. I learn everyday on howba small island like Cyprus which is totally dependant on Turkey thrives and yet protect their territorial activities from the same Turkey, because a Turkish man needs visa to operate here. You will never see police stopping people on the road. Cameras are used in various locations to prevent police harrasinig citizens. It is not perfect here but it is splendid. Roads are not built with billions of dollars like our leaders make us to believe. Its cheap to build it really. We have to create a group of collective African minds. We have to believe we can achieve this then we have to act. 1 Like 1 Share |

shadowhunter15: You kicked of reaaalyy well in your earlier post but like with everyone in this thread, you couldnt stand the test of time. Inevitably, you start defending your own. Four posts down the line you have the qualities of everyone in this thread. You started by posing what every Nigerian has tried "why are kenyans here, and are Nigerians ever on Kenyan sites?". Sorry to tell you that has probably been asked a million times here. So here is the response, and I hope all newcomers refrain from the same question henceforth: You wont find Kenyans creating country comparison threads in Kenyan forums like you find here. This comparison thread was started by a Nigerian. You get the drift? You cannot start discussing about me and then ask me "why are you joining the discussion which is about yourself?" Its inevitable that I will join to correct any misconceptions and try to paint the right image about myself because I know myself better. Even though you may be saying that, Aha! this guy is lovely and all stunning, you will as well be saying untruths like he is insane and inebriated! Bottomline; if you start discussing me, it first shows that: 1. my life alone is enough concern to you even in my absence, and 2. you should expect me to come into the discussion because it is LOUD. Its not like its a private convo. If it was in a private chatroom, no kenyan would be there. We are not shocked that Nigerians are defending their country, that is precisely what we expected. What we are shocked with is that you find it shocking that we are defending our country. What did you expect? When we defend ourselves its shocking but its not when you defend yourselves. By the time you got to your second paragraph, you were on straws, really. You were hardly indistinguishable from the multitudes that have tried that line before. You wish to lie that Kenya is the last thing in Nigerian minds, with no threads about Kenya. So who created this thread and why? There is a thread about Kenya almost every day in this site, unless you are new. And almost all are started by who? Yep, Nigerians! Ofcourse! And when Kenyans contribute you get mad! What do you want? Either you stop the projection on us or start threads and wait for the inevitable. We may be 5000 kilometers away but online, we are just next door. It is even worse because the speed of our internet is something else, we see your posts here earlier than some of your neighbors. Dont even mistake our presence as promotion for tourism, that is just a side kick for our presence. Our presence here is precisely because well, you cannot keep off our mentions. Wondering why we dont pose the query to the Nigerians here ? Because we dont care ! Should we go about asking everyone from overseas that funny question? It is only in a thread like this that we encounter such questions, and its possibly a unique thread in the world. I have never come across this kind of thread anywhere before. Frankly, I dont think there is any way you can spin it to put the blame on Kenyans. 5 Likes |

TayserMahiri: Kenya as well as Ghana has really done well and have developed over the years. I think the have a youthful president also who is educated and knows what it takes to create some form of transformation. This is highly commendable, africa has to he set in the right foot to make it explorable to the future quest. Individuality of African nations is not the way forward but connectivity. Africa has an impending enemy in the western world. Nothing works genuinely in Africa if its not being perpetuated by the united nations, world banks and IMF which exist to make international laws that controls africa in a methodological movement. This must be broken Africa must have a government that does not depend on the European nations. The act of collection of loans from the western world is an enslavement of the African culture and society. This must be stoped collectively. A united Africa will be a fear in the western world. If the African Free trade zone was a possibility then it would be a massive step forward. 2 Likes |

TayserMahiri:The thing is, Kenya barely gets discussed here. I looked at the beginning and for the most part a lot of the thread started out positive. There were a few negative accounts from Nigerians, but they were mostly checked by other Nigerians. Then a bunch of Kenyans came with a hubris that matched the hubris with a few Nigerian trolls and now we have 1600 pages. I admit i'm not as active on this site anymore, but from time to time I check and I hardly see threads about Kenya. I see more about attrocities in Nigeria that makes me sad. You must be actively looking for threads about Kenya to find them so easily. Even yesterday and today I didn't see any thread about Kenya on here, but the way you tell it all Nigerians are obsessed with talking about Kenya and bursting for country comparison. I decided to take your advice and looked through threads featuring Kenya, and almost all of them have no traction. I stand a hundred percent with what I said. The thing is its almost the same Nigerians you people have been arguing with it for 1600 pages . You guys must be really invested in this to not let this go. There is also a difference between defending and being an insultive asshole. Most of you have crossed that line. Same with some of these Nigerian trolls. |

KingGBsky: Youths in the countries you mentioned are more involved in the governance of their countries than in Nigeria. I saw the man responding on behalf of govt concerning the release of Boko haram girls was an old man (not sure if he was a spokesman or minister but he is an old old man). There are no such old people in Kenyan government I think the average age of our ministers for instance would be around 40s, but the youths need to do a lot more. One thing I dont know though is whether Africa can succeed in uniting if even our countries as they are find it hard to unite, Nigeria again being the best example. In Kenya we are so politically divided that nature itself has decided to separate us (kiddin ) |

shadowhunter15: Since Kenyans are not interested in Nigerian threads, they will easily spot the ones with Kenya, more than you. With the way you are hopping around threads with Kenya, are you not sure you are the one with issues? Went through your last few posts and you seem fired up on Kenyan threads, picking up fights with every kenyan you come across even when they didnt talk rubbish. Of course its the same Nigerians over and over because this thread somehow created acquaintances over time.
