Hi all, I have searched everywhere on nairaland for this but could'nt find anything useful. I am about to apply for tier2 UK visa and tier 2 dependent visa for my wife and child. I however have another child born out of wedlock who is now 6years old and I intend to bring him to the UK too.

People tell me it is not likely to be approved because his case is more complicated. His name appears on my marriage certificate (single with a child) and my name is also on his birth certificate. His mother is willing to provide every necessary document and is in full support of this.

Could you please advice me on what to do, documents to provide and how I can proceed with this? Thank you.

cc: justwise ekpotek

What you need to show proof that you are the father of the child (birth certificate, photos) and a letter of consent from the mother permitting you to travel with the child. The mother can say that it’s better for the child to be with his father for needed support and better education in the UK.

If there is no visa sticker on your passport and that of your son; and no refusal letters attached. Then there is a mistake somewhere. It is better you contact UKVI.

Hello, I am in same boat with you. How did you contact them at Sheffield please? My uncle and his wife submitted theirs on the 13th Feb and they have not been contacted since then.

At last, their passports have been returned and visa granted. Thanks y'all

If you have a valid USA visa and your departure flight to USA is within the same terminal building, then you have no problem as you will not be required to leave the terminal building. However, if you intend to leave the terminal building or change terminals for your connecting flight. Then you will need a transit visa.

If you are travelling on the same airline i.e British Airways...it is unlikely that you will need a transit visa (as long as you aren't changing terminals). However if you are travelling on different airlines or you have to get your luggage in heathrow and connect on your onward journey, you definitely will require a transit visa.

Good day Prof. Justwise, been ages. How are you and your family? Please i think am ready to commence my plan trip to UK with my family and intend it to be in september. as at now i have about 700k as my balance while my wife has about 450k in her account. we r hoping to fund it more before putting in our applications. Do you think this is sufficient for a family of 3; myself, wife n a little boy of 5yrs old? Moreover, is it advisable to indicate that our only sources of income is salary? when do you advise we put in our applications? you may wish to provide other additional info pls. Thanks

Good day, I’ve been following this thread and it’s been truly helpful.
Now I submitted my documents for a short term study visa @ TLS Abuja, since the 1st of March, I received the confirmation email from Sheffield on the 8th of March, we’re just a few days to the end of the month and I haven’t received any email again, going by the 15 days processing time, should I be worried?. Also I can’t track my application from the tls website because I am unable to reset my password and login to my portal. I am getting worried as it is very close to the time of the training program I plan to attend.

Ask your husband to call or email them, it should be a mistake from the embassy

That is the main problem with your case, it doesn't really matter that your daddy will be paying for everything the problem is that you don't have strong tie to Nigeria. The embassy will not believe that you will return back to Nigeria at the end of your visit so getting a visa will be tough.

Good morning justwise and co. I have been following the thread with keen interest. I plan to travel to the UK early next year in March to sit for the plab2 exam. I want to plan it carefully so as not to have problems. My main issue has to do with my salary account and sponsor. I earn 340k monthly. I'm repaying a Microfinance loan of 1 million of which 106k is deducted from my salary every month. It will end in November this year. By the time I make expenses for family and remove savings to my savings account the account is next to zero.
Secondly my sponsor who is my mum is residing in the U.S. She has agreed to send money to me monthly before I travel. My question is this.
1. Is it ok for my salary account to be next to zero?
2. My sponsor wants to send money via bank transfer which costs $75 each time she does so which is expensive for her. Can she use Western Union or MoneyGram?
3. Is it even alright to transfer money to me monthly without causing problems for the Visa application?
I plan to budget 2million for the trip which includes my air ticket, accommodation exam fee and feeding for 34days.

Avoid any unexplained payment into your salary account by all means
