You are very funny.

Your last underlined sentence is the thoughts of the people around, many of whom didn't know of Jesus deity. That was why they made that statement.

Moreover, Jesus was fully man and fully divine on earth.

If you say God gave him the authority to forgive sins just as the people thought (which he didn't say), then don't you think God was giving him His own responsibility? Why was Jesus so special that God gave him that much power to do things only He Can do?

Even the verse you quoted showed that some of the people said he was blaspheming when he forgave the man's sins. They knew only God can make such statement.

Now, why would God give man such authority when it is clear that many will see that to mean such a person is God?

That was God's aim.
.

"Why would God give man such authority"

This statement of urs clearly shows that u inwardly believe jesus isn't God but a man sent by God..

It is common these days to see people posing a question to Christians on social media and even in debates with the question always in one same manner. The question usually comes from Atheists, Jews, Muslims and even heretic Christians. They wonder why we see Jesus as God and worship him.

So they ask "Show me Where Jesus said "I am God worship me?" in those exact words.

You might become confused at this moment if you are not smart. Yes, you know you can't find anywhere in the Bible where Jesus said such in those exact words, so you might be quick to quote some classical verses that show Jesus Christ is God.

Well, the person asking that question has been trained in such a way that no matter the amount of verses you quote, he won't believe you unless you show him where Jesus said "I am God worship me" in those exact words. Now he has boxed you in the "exact words" corner. The only way you can get out is to pull him into the corner to make him see how stupid it is dealing with exact words. I bet you, he will be the one to open the door for the both of you to leave the corner once he realises how stupid it is. How do you do that? You flip the question back at him. You say...

"I'll be willing to show where Jesus said 'I am God worship me' in those exact words only if you can show me where he said 'I am only a prophet, do not worship me' in those exact same words. At that moment, he will start to realise the error of requesting for exact same words. To stamp it on him, if he's a Muslim that believes according to the Quran that Jesus was born of a virgin, then ask him to show you in the Quran or Bible where Jesus said "I am born of a virgin" in those exact same words. If he can't, then it means his belief that Jesus was born of a virgin is false.

The idea behind the above is to ensure you are not dealing with exact words. If the Jew, atheist, Muslim or heretic Christian can't show you anywhere in the Bible or Quran or any book where Jesus said these exact words "I am only a prophet, do not worship me" or "I am born of a virgin", then it means he shouldn't require of you to show him where Jesus said the exact same words "I am God worship me".

Once you have passed that, you can now ask a more reasonable question.

WHERE AND HOW DID JESUS CLAIM TO BE GOD?

According to the Jews, Christians and Muslims, there are certain claims only God can make. All 3 religious beliefs hold the same view about God in that regard. That is why I am going to use the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Quran to see if Jesus made claims that only God can make.

1. Who is the "First and the Last"?

Let's start by quoting the Quran

Sura 57:3
He is the FIRST and the LAST, and the Outward (His signs appear on all His creatures) and the Inward (Hidden). And He is the All-Knower of everything.

Now let's read from the Old Testament

Isaiah 44:6
New International Version
"This is what the LORD says-- Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the FIRST and I am the LAST; apart from me there is no God.

Since both the Quran and the Bible agree that God is the First and the Last, should a prophet refer to himself as such? But that is what Jesus Christ did in the verse below.

Revelations 1:17-18
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the FIRST and the LAST. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Can you tell us what Jesus meant when he took a title that can only be applied to God and applied it to himself? If he wasn't claiming to be God, then what was he doing?

God shares titles with men. I can mention at least three people in the bible who are designated with the title "King of kings".

When Jesus was crucified, he took upon himself the whole sins of mankind. God hates sin, so imagine how He felt when Jesus bore the sins of the world. It made Him forsake Jesus at that moment. Jesus was God made manifest in the flesh. The Sins which Jesus took upon Himself made God to forsake His manifestation at that moment. That manifestation had to cry back to the source which later resurrected him.

how? i hope you are not referring to "my God why has thou forsaken me..." Jesus was quoting psalm 22 that prophecied his crucification, the propagation of the gospel and the redemption of man. this is in several theological books already.read your bible.

Psalm 22 which is a Psalm Jews recited when despair, trouble, sickness, pain, death and dark times were experienced. If one reads the whole Psalm, one will find that the ending of the psalm is a much different "sentiment" than the beginning of the psalm. It was a prayer used by Jews...not a statement of being forsaken by God.

That Psalm also prefigures Christ...... I bet the jews witnessing this were pretty shocked.

Not only does the psalm end in proclaiming God ....but it also mentions : "they have pierced my hands and feet , they have numbered all my bones" and other such depictions that clearly represent Christ.

You have to remember...hanging on the cross was VERY painful and to draw breath to speak...you would have to pull yourself up on the nails.....so in that 9 word statement....Christ says a lot.

Jewish education at that time largely consisted of memorizing the Torah. Just as, nowadays, hearing someone recite the first line of something well-known would bring the rest of it to mind.

Thus, Jesus saying the first few words of the 22nd Psalm would instantly bring it to the mind of all the Jews listening, just as we could probably remember the next Psalm when hearing “The Lord is my shepherd…”

Thus, His words were not a cry of despair, but a song of victory.

Jesus is not a representation of God but God Himself as The Word of God!

This doesn't mean Jesus is the entire God Himself.

Why most people do confuse the term of God for Jesus is because they don't understand it's about NATURE.

The don't simply understand the principle of the holy trinity

2. Who can forgive sins?

Jews, christians and Muslims all believers that it is only God that can forgive sins. We see that in the Quran verse below

Sura (3:135) These are the ones who, when they commit any indecency and wrong against themselves, instantly remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - for who will forgive sins save Allah? - and who do not wilfully persist in the wrong they did.

Now, if it is only God that can forgive sins, should a mere Prophet claim to forgive sins also? In the Bible verse below, we see the religious leaders startled when Jesus forgave the sins of a crippled man. They were startled cos they knew it is only God that can do such, so they said he was blaspheming. Jesus made it clear to them that a mere human can open his mouth to say I forgive you of your sin, but only a God can forgive you and restore what your sin deprived you of.

Mark 2:5-12
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,
“Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

You see Jesus forgave sins, something the Quran says only God has the authority to do. Isn't this Jesus showing that he is God?

3. Who is our final judge?

Old Testament

Joel 3:12
"Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side.

More

Psalm 9:7-8
The LORD reigns forever; 7
he has established his throne for judgment.
He rules the world in righteousness 8
and judges the peoples with equity.

Quran
22:56) On that Day all sovereignty shall be Allah's and He will judge among them. Then those who believed and acted righteously shall be in Gardens of Bliss.
(22:57) A humiliating chastisement awaits those who disbelieved and denied Our Signs.

If both the Bible and the Quran agree that God is the final judge of humans, should a mere prophet claim to be the final judge? That is what Jesus Christ did in the verse below. He made it clear that he will be the one to judge.

Matthew 25:31-32
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

Proof texting is just unacceptable and it's considered fallacious in debate. Just because two different people are designated with similar traits does not imply they are the same entity.

Jesus admits he received authority from God. The fact that he had to receive authority to do all what he did implies he cannot be on par equal with God.

The almighty has all power and authority. It's already native to him. Jesus also grants that authority to his disciples as well.

To forgive sins:

John 20:23
[23]Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

And to judge:
Matthew 19:27-28
[27]Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
[28]And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

6. Does God share his glory?

Quran

Sura 57:1
All that is in the heavens and the earth extols the glory of Allah.1 He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise.

In the old testament, we see God saying He will not give His Glory to another.

Isaiah 42:7
"I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.

Clearly, no Prophet will say he will be glorified with God let alone say he had glory with God before the world was created. But that is what Jesus said.

John 17:5
And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Is this the sort of thing prophets say?

WHY DO WE WORSHIP JESUS?

We worship him not only cos he showed us that he is God, but cos he also said that we should honor him just as we honor his Father and that everything that belong to the Father are his. Is that what prophets say?

John 16:15
ALL THAT BELONGS TO THE FATHER IS MINE. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you."

More

John 5:21-23
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.
Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,
THAT ALL MAY honor THE SON JUST AS THEY HONOR THE FATHER. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

We give him praise and worship since that is one of the ways we honor the Father.

His statements in the verse above show that he demanded worship. That's why his followers worshipped him on numerous occasions.

Mathew 2:11, Mathew 14:33, John 9:38, Mathew 28:17, Luke 24:52

His disciple Thomas even addressed him as My Lord and my God

John 20:28
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

So, where did Jesus say "I am God worship me"?

As we have seen, he has called himself the forgiver of sins, the resurrection, the truth, the final judge, the one who has glory with God and demanded we honor him the same way we honor the Father.

These are not the claims of a man, not even the claims of a mighty prophet. These are the claims only God can make. And this is why Christians believe that Jesus is God and worship him.

Next week, I will show you How God can die. Stay tuned.
No point here at all.

Firstly you are cherry picking verses out of context. If you read the context of the verses you cited you'd see that it's about God refusing to share his glory with idols and fallen gods.

Jesus requested to be glorified. This negates your argument. You don't request for something you already have and isn't it awkward that this same glory was given to the disciples?

Read it and weep..

John 17:22
[22]And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I do not actually know the fulcrum of your argument, but I'll make some guesses to aid me offer a response. I reckon your argument is that Jesus is God almighty himself. But there is a structural lapse in your offering which puts a strain on the edifies of opinion you hold out. First your position shows you are discussing two entities. Whether you agree or not is immaterial, for Jesus says in John 14:28..You heard that I said to you...the father is greater than I am. In the account of Colossians 1: 15, apostle Paul referred to Jesus as the "image of th invisible God, the first born of all creation"...Jesus thus was created, hence, he who created him must be greater. Is it any wonder then that Jesus on a number of occasion while on earth said he had come to do the will of the one that sent him. In fact, on the night of his death, the pain was so much that he wished things changed, but as it was, it wasn't in his powers to change the tide. Prior to the selection of his disciples, Jesus was said to have prayed all night to make the right choice, to whom was he praying, if he had that much power, why did he need to be guided. Again, whose voice came down from heaven to confirm Jesus' sonship at his baptism, perhaps it was Jesus'own voice that said to Jesus" this is my son with whom I am well pleased"? During the transfiguration , the same voice boomed from heaven but with the addition "listen to him". Throughout Jesus ministry on earth, he made it clear that he was a messenger, he never arrogated powers to himself, he referred his listeners to a Being greater than he. .. Your argument obviously touches on the relationship between Jesus and God the almighty. Whether we accept it or not, Jesus himself has accepted his position as the second in command, a perfect representation of his father. He did not say "no one comes to me except through me" but no one comes to the father, we all are going to the father, Jesus is a means, hid father, the end...Happy Sunday brothers and sisters

At OP and like minded Christians, you don't conclude based on assumptions when there are clearly stated words in the Bible on this issue. If Jesus is God (which he didn't claim), how do you interpret these:

+++ John 14:28: “You heard that I said to you, I am going away and I am coming back to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is GREATER than I am.”

+++ Matthew 28:18. “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.”

But if Jesus is God, how could he be given more authority? And who gave it to him?

+++ John 6:38. Jesus said: “I have come down from heaven to do, not my will, but the will of him that sent me.”

+++ John 7:16: . “Jesus, in turn, answered them and said: ‘What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him that sent me.’”

+++ Philippians 2:9, describes what God did after Jesus’ death and resurrection: “God exalted him [Jesus] to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name.”

@OP, next time you want to conclude that Jesus is God Almighty based on your assumptions, you mind consider these popular verses people like you quote:

John 10:30. "I and my Father are one." But such people forget to read the entire chapter. Or they simply ignore it.

Also, if this oneness means Jesus is God, how then do you explain John 17:11 "I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of[b] your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one."

There are other verses like "the word is God" in the book of John.

I am tired. GTG

Happy Easter guys.

This op is really confused just like his followers.
these are series of questions for minds that think so if you don't I don't think you know what you are doing then.

Q. Who's God
Ans. Jesus
Q. Is Jesus the son of Mary
Ans. Yes
Q. Who created Mary
Ans. God
Q. Who's God.
Ans. Jesus
Q. Jesus is the begotten son
Ans. Yes
Q. Who's his father
Ans. God
Q. Who's God.
Ans. Jesus
Q. Did Jesus die on the cross
Ans. Yes
Q. Who resurrected him
Ans. God
Q. Is Jesus the messenger of God
Ans. Yes
Q. Who sent him
Ans. God
Q. Did Jesus worship while on earth
Ans. Yes
Q. Who did he worship
Ans. God

These are just a little if u cld comprehend how can you say Jesus is God sent by God and he's God who worships God I.e he worships himself does that make sense.?
Almighty God said there's none like unto him.
Just like u and I we eat Jesus ate so your God eats..?
You used the toilet Jesus used too do your God uses the toilet too..?
You sleep Jesus slept does your God ever sleep..?

I would want to ask you a simple question and be logical.
You are there where Mary gave birth and you held small baby Jesus at your age let say you 30-40 years a baby crying with blood and you raise him up and say you are my God small baby I would worship you forever till I die.

I put it to you was your God created..?
if I say you are human then it means your generation too are human and they have the traits of human right.
So as Jesus died your God too had died once before that's pathetic your God too slept and ate too bad bro.
Fix up your self and your mind stop being myopic if something don't conform to common sense leave it bro.

The lord your God is one neither sleep nor slumber overtakes him.

He did not say "no one comes to me except through me" but no one comes to the father, we all are going to the father, Jesus is a means, hid father, the end...Happy Sunday brothers and sisters
you are closer to the truth! He was a messenger and not the owner of the message.
They keep contriving and putting words into the mouth of that innocent man.
To know who Jesus truly is I advise you guys to study the Quran. The last testament

If you have all these verses and understand Quran, try and seek understanding and interpretation of the Bible. E.g is like a person that knows how to read and decided to pick a book on how to perform a surgery, after reading the whole of the and decided to enter into a theatre room to perform a surgery. You and I knows the end result after surgery. And accept you are a good scholar you know very well as a Muslim you cannot read and interpret Quran, likewise the Bible you can never read and understand it without the inspiration of God or going through the schools and having a better knowledge of it.

Who is the god of the muslim ?
Muhammed was the prophet of allah not the prophet of the righteous God of the Christians.

Allah is not God Almighty but god of the idol worshippers :

Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:

Bukhari
Narrated 'Aisha:

..................
The Prophet added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous." (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you.

Was Khadija not a pagan ? A pagan worships his or her idol by the name of their gods or idol.

Idol worshipper b4 muhammed used to perform . The muslims do so now.

They used to Tawaf , the muslims do likewise.

They used to throw stones at Satan , the muslim do the same.

They used to kiss the meteorites or black stone , the muslims do so now.

Islam retained many aspects of pagan religion in the name of one god .

Why is allah related to allat, the goddess idol , in name?

Allah SWT says:

أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ اللّٰتَ وَالْعُزّٰى
"So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza?"
(QS. An-Najm: Verse 19)
وَمَنٰوةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الْأُخْرٰىٓ
"And Manat, the third - the other one?"
(QS. An-Najm: Verse 20)

أَلَكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الْأُنْثٰى
"Is the male for you and for Him the female?"
(QS. An-Najm: Verse 21)
* Via the Beautiful Qur'an https:///QLwc8B
تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزٰىٓ
"That, then, is an unjust division."
(QS. An-Najm: Verse 22)

Volume 2, Book 15, Number 72:
Bukhari
Narrated Aisha:

Abu Bakr came to my house while two small Ansari girls were singing beside me the stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. And they were not singers. Abu Bakr said protestingly, "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah's Apostle !" It happened on the 'Id day and Allah's Apostle said, "O Abu Bakr! There is an 'Id for every nation and this is our 'Id."

Their Id is satanic worshipping.

The god of the muslims is residing in the kabaah

Ode ni e. So the Arab Christians that call God Allah also worship an idol?

alBHAGDADI:
I don't think you understand what I meant by God making Himself manifest in flesh.

To make you understand, I'll have to flip the question back at you.

Who was ruling the universe when God entered the burning bush to speak to Moses?

If you can't answer the question then it means you don't know how powerful the creator of heaven and earth is.
Answer this
If a king goes to war with 30,000 soilders -
Then:
Who is the next person that watch over the affairs of that kingdom?
