Lovely tread I must say, cos it clears some many issues at a time...

Though, I was expecting somebody to talk about GOD being in THREE FORMS; THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, CO-EQUAL, CO-EXISTING ... GOD'S existence in the TRINITY is another mysterious aspect of GOD, that some of us are still ignorant of.

MAY WE RECEIVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD THAT WE MAY KNOW HIM MORE, AMEN

but jesus responded

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
John:10:33

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
John:10:34

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
John:10:35

in dat verse john 10:34 "is it not written in your law that ye are gods " meaning why do u take my words literally when it is also in your law dat ye are gods and u do not take it in its literal sense.

Can u see d CONTRADICTIONS

The contradictions you see are those from a heart that will not believe...no matter how clear the Bible may be you will never believe. Believing implies accepting without proof or evidence but you want a Christian to provide evidence for his belief whereas even you do not have evidence for your beliefs...For example! A muslim said a man can marry up to four wives, then I asked him why four, why not three, why not ten, why not hundred, why not one, why four? His response was; I DO NOT KNOW! Now even the muslim simply accepted a doctrine as true though he has no real reason for accepting it...but these same muslims fight the Christians for accepting that Jesus is GOD without evidence or proof. That is what I call inter-religious hypocrisy!

Vecto:

No point here at all.

Firstly you are cherry picking verses out of context. If you read the context of the verses you cited you'd see that it's about God refusing to share his glory with idols and fallen gods.

Jesus requested to be glorified. This negates your argument. You don't request for something you already have and isn't it awkward that this same glory was given to the disciples?

Read it and weep..

John 17:22
[22]And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
The request to be glorified shows that he had cast aside his glory and was on earth walking with humans. He longed for when He will return and wear the glory again.

Mind you, glory is different from glory. If Jesus said all that the Father has are His, then it means if God can control the angels, He can as well. Where did you see the disciples controlling the angels? Can you now see that glory is different from glory?

HerXLNC:
GOD exist in three forms: God the father, God the son, God the holyspirit.... TRINITY : The trinity is a mystery....during the water baptism of Jesus by John... There was a voice from heaven saying : Matthew 3:17 KJV
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

U can't unravel the mystery behind the TRINITY

in the old testaments...sacrifice involves blood and for the sin of the world to be forgiven and grace to abound there's a need for sacrifice of blood.... only one person blood can be shed for that cause hence God the son (Jesus) needed to come in human form to pay the price

The fact that another voice spoke during the baptism depicts they are different entities. The voice even said “this is my son in which I am well pleased” the voice didn’t say this is ME and I am well pleased. Jesus never preached trinity, the first century Christians didn’t preach it, he’s disciples didn’t preach it

What other proof, do the naysayers want? No matter how explicit the bible is, they will always choose to believe what they want to believe...

Jesus was WORSHIPPED even as a baby

Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him : and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him , saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Matthew 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Matthew 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Joh 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

JESUS The Christ, was worshipped as the Son of God...and If He is the Son of God then He is the only begotten of God and thus He is GOD!

@ alBHAGDADI You claim Jesus is God right? So I have a question for you. When Jesus was crucified, who was running the show? Who was in charge of the heavens and the earth? Please do reply.
Accoridng to your Quran, Allah entered a burning bush and spoke to Musa.

He was running the universe when Allah was in the bush talking to Moses.

Our God is so powerful that He can do what He wants. I don't know about your god.

I like the fact that you confirmed the authenticity of the Quran.

But while you were doing your research you skipped some suras which i have helped you dug out.

Maybe you can give us further explanations.

Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute. (3:55, Yusif Ali)

The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was. (3:59, Yusif Ali)

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. (4:157,Yusif Ali)

of course you are one of those who cherry picks

these are d preceding verses as part of a narration.

The Angels said, “O Mary, Allah gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, well-esteemed in this world and the next, and one of the nearest.
[Quran, 3:45]

He will speak to the people from the crib, and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.”
[Quran, 3:46]

She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child, when no man has touched me?” He said, “It will be so. Allah creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
[Quran, 3:47]

And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel.
[Quran, 3:48]

A messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you out of clay the figure of a bird; then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leprous, and I revive the dead, by Allah’s leave. And I inform you concerning what you eat, and what you store in your homes. In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”
[Quran, 3:49]

“And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear Allah, and obey me.”
[Quran, 3:50]

“Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”
[Quran, 3:51]

When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, “Who are my allies towards Allah?” The disciples said, “We are Allah’s allies; we have believed in Allah, and bear witness that we submit.”
[Quran, 3:52]

“Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.”
[Quran, 3:53]

They (the disbelievers among the jews) planned and Allah planned; but Allah is the Best of planners.
[Quran, 3:54]

Allah said, “O Jesus, I am terminating your life, and raising you to Me, and clearing you of those who disbelieve. And I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return; then I will judge between you regarding what you were disputing.
[Quran, 3:55]

i will make it simple 4 u if u dont understand, who are those who followed him? Answer: the disciples when they said "Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.”
[Quran, 3:53]

Who are those who blaspheme??

I would leave u to answer that yourself!!!

Is this argument so necessary?
It is only necessary if u don't know the meaning of the word GOD.

The word GOD simply means "a supernatural being", powerful than humans. Satan was referred to as God (2 cor. 4:4).If u like write it in small letters (human mentality), its meaning remains the same. so, don't deceive ursef.

It is not wrong to refer to Jesus as God. of course, there are scriptures that refer to him as God. Humans can also be refer to like that. (PS. 82:6; John 10:34,35).

Understandably, God is a generic name for supernatural beings. it means too that all supernatural beings have their names that differentiate them.

Again, Jesus being God does not make him higher than the creator. Read John 14:10; Phil. 2:5,6; 1 Cor. 15:24-28; Heb.10:12,13)

Pls I’m not a Muslim.

Imagine you have a son, both of u have lived together for many years n have the same character n even look alike and have a plan to achieve s common goal, both of you can be said to be one...but it doesn’t mean your son is you. That statement I and my Father are one is not a figurative statement it’s symbolic meaning the are alike but not the same as it is with the example I gave above. Pls read Philippians 2:5-9 then draw your conclusions.

You even contradict yourself. When the Bible says Jesus is the only begotten son of God does it mean Jesus is God? Or does SON doesn’t mean SON again. Begotten there meant the only possession of myself. Remember the first and only thing God created was A spirit being and every other thing was created for and through him.

He cast aside His glory in heaven and wore a corrupt human form. That form was the manifestation of God on earth just as God manifested in a burning bush to Moses. That manifestation had to be baptized. Why?

Because Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, He had to subject Himself to baptism so that we all can follow His footstep. That was why John the baptist wondered why Jesus was coming to him for baptism when he suppose to go to Jesus for baptism of fire. What did Jesus say? He said He has to fulfill all righteousness that's why He's getting baptized. And that's why we get baptized like Christ for us to be like Him and to be called Christians.

Lol, why believe in 1 contradiction over another.

Lol and about d issue of 4 wives, the evidence is revealed in the Quran. in Quran 4:3

And give orphans their properties, and do not substitute the bad for the good. And do not consume their properties by combining them with yours, for that would be a serious sin.
[Quran, 4:2]

If you fear you cannot act fairly towards the orphans—then marry the women you like—two, or three, or four. But if you fear you will not be fair, then one, or what you already have. That makes it more likely that you avoid bias.

It is common these days to see people posing a question to Christians on social media and even in debates with the question always in one same manner. The question usually comes from Atheists, Jews, Muslims and even heretic Christians. They wonder why we see Jesus as God and worship him.

So they ask "Show me Where Jesus said "I am God worship me?" in those exact words. I will only make comment on one question u asked that muslim should show u where in d Quaran verse that says Jesus was born by a virgin pls kindly look up for quaran chapte 3 vs 47 and quaran chapter 19 vs 20. I think dis will guide u small

You might become confused at this moment if you are not smart. Yes, you know you can't find anywhere in the Bible where Jesus said such in those exact words, so you might be quick to quote some classical verses that show Jesus Christ is God.

Well, the person asking that question has been trained in such a way that no matter the amount of verses you quote, he won't believe you unless you show him where Jesus said "I am God worship me" in those exact words. Now he has boxed you in the "exact words" corner. The only way you can get out is to pull him into the corner to make him see how stupid it is dealing with exact words. I bet you, he will be the one to open the door for the both of you to leave the corner once he realises how stupid it is. How do you do that? You flip the question back at him. You say...

"I'll be willing to show where Jesus said 'I am God worship me' in those exact words only if you can show me where he said 'I am only a prophet, do not worship me' in those exact same words. At that moment, he will start to realise the error of requesting for exact same words. To stamp it on him, if he's a Muslim that believes according to the Quran that Jesus was born of a virgin, then ask him to show you in the Quran or Bible where Jesus said "I am born of a virgin" in those exact same words. If he can't, then it means his belief that Jesus was born of a virgin is false.

The idea behind the above is to ensure you are not dealing with exact words. If the Jew, atheist, Muslim or heretic Christian can't show you anywhere in the Bible or Quran or any book where Jesus said these exact words "I am only a prophet, do not worship me" or "I am born of a virgin", then it means he shouldn't require of you to show him where Jesus said the exact same words "I am God worship me".

Once you have passed that, you can now ask a more reasonable question.

WHERE AND HOW DID JESUS CLAIM TO BE GOD?

According to the Jews, Christians and Muslims, there are certain claims only God can make. All 3 religious beliefs hold the same view about God in that regard. That is why I am going to use the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Quran to see if Jesus made claims that only God can make.

1. Who is the "First and the Last"?

Let's start by quoting the Quran

Sura 57:3
He is the FIRST and the LAST, and the Outward (His signs appear on all His creatures) and the Inward (Hidden). And He is the All-Knower of everything.

Now let's read from the Old Testament

Isaiah 44:6
New International Version
"This is what the LORD says-- Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the FIRST and I am the LAST; apart from me there is no God.

Since both the Quran and the Bible agree that God is the First and the Last, should a prophet refer to himself as such? But that is what Jesus Christ did in the verse below.

Revelations 1:17-18
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the FIRST and the LAST. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Can you tell us what Jesus meant when he took a title that can only be applied to God and applied it to himself? If he wasn't claiming to be God, then what was he doing?
Re: How To Answer The Question "Where Did Jesus Say, 'I Am God, Worship Me''? by xbrus: 12:58pm On Apr 01, 2018
Continue to confuse yourself and others who like to be confused. Take every word out of context from everywhere just to prove your point. The words of quran about God is plain. The onenes of God is the foundation of islam, I know deep down in your mind you know even you don't understand what you're saying. If jesus didn't say "I'm not God " and for that reason you think he's qualified to be called GOD,then every other prophets that didn't say so are also qualified as well. Christianity is full of contradictions

Stephen was a first century Christian and he recognized the trinity.

Act 7:55  But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,  And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

Jesus preached baptism in the trinity without which you cannot be saved!

Matthew 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mark 16:16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Peter the disciple of Jesus, preached the Trinity

Act 2:32-33  This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.  Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost , he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

So sir, you see that you error is borne out of making remarks about a belief you do not hold. If you do not believe in Jesus then do not bother about the Bible because no matter what the Bible says you will never believe. The prophets spoke of people like you:

Romans 11:8-10  (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; ) unto this day. And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

Stephen saw Jesus at the right hand of God. How’s that possible when trinity means Jesus is God abi they are not one entity as your trinity says?

But to me Jesus is not God, God is God and Jesus is the son of God and they are different entities. They are not equal, they both exist in spirit form but one is greater than the other (God is greater than Jesus) read Philippians 2:5-9. I learned all this from the Bible. Even the word trinity sef cannot be found in the Bible. Jesus never said he was God and God never said he’s Jesus. God only said he is One God not 3 in one God like trinity.

Actually, it is you who needs to be taught. Did Jesus actually said he is God? When he was teaching his disciples to pray, How did he start? or Was he praying to himself? The night before he was killed, he was afraid and he went to a quiet place to kneel and pray to himself abi? Jesus said he didnt come to do his will but the will of the one who sent him. He said the father is greater than he is. Colossians 1:15 shows that Jesus has a beginning. He was referred to as the first born of all creation. God even GAVE him a name above all names. When Jesus returned to the heaven, he sat down at the right hand of someone, abi he was sitting at the right hand of himself? The bible refer to God as Almighty God and refer to Jesus as Mighty God. Abeg, when Jesus was about to die, who did he beg to remove the cup from his head? He was talking to himself abi?

See, dont come here and deceive people that all these is a misery. Cos that is your cheapest way out of you little or zero scriptural knowledge.

I don talk.

If you were opportune to be alive when Jesus was teaching His disciples, would you have believed if He had said He was the Father? No, you won't have cos the Father you've heard of is so glorious that uncountable angels sing His praise. You won't believe cos Jesus was right there with you eating and talking, perhaps wearing the same kind of shirt as yours. It's so cos He left His glory in heaven just to save you. He didn't come with His glory, so it was difficult to accept Him as God.

John 1:10-11
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.

But a time is coming when you will see that same Jesus coming with His glory, fear will catch you.

Luke 21:27
26 Men will faint from fear and anxiety over what is coming upon the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Well yeah d truth never contradicts itself, d truth is truth, no falsehoods, no corruption, no contradictions, or CONTRA TRUTHS

Logic tells us that, if the truth is not universally acceptable, also what falsehood is will not be generally acceptable...Christianity is just one of the hundreds of religions you have to contend with...you still cannot tell a Buddhist he is wrong in his beliefs as they account for the 4th largest religion in the world...not to talk of the New Age movement which is gathering momentum real fast...so you see Mr Muslim, it is best to keep to your beliefs and let others do the same...the end shall justify or rebuff our beliefs!

in others again, i believe u may have seen dis in previous threads dat u were a part off.

Jesus neva said to worship him but thy lord thy God in heaven. Again d following verses:

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but ONE that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Matthew:19:17 (jesus himself confirming one God).

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
Mark:12:32

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mark:12:29

Now lets look at jesus christ as d son of god
What is d definition of son?

'A male child, a boy or man in relation to his parents; one's male offspring".
"A male person who has such a close relationship with an older or otherwise more authoritative person that he can be regarded as a son of the other person."
"A male person considered to have been significantly shaped by some external influence."

There are also many verses in d bible dat call ppl son of God: KJV
Read 1 Chronicles 22:10
Luke 3:38
Romans 8:14
Job 38:7

Frm dis bible verses above we can call various ppl as d son of God
Frm dis we can conclude dat christians falsely believe christ as a biological son of God instead of as a man influenced and guided by God

Lets even luk at dis, God dat destroyed nations for ppl worshipping anytin other than him will now turn around
and present his son for ppl to worship, is dat not accusing God of Double standards, not to even to mention fathering his own biological son from one of his creations isn't dat accusing God of incest.Glory be to God. There is no other God except Allah

Please respond because in the oda threads i posted dis u ran like u always do
Read the below verse to know why Jesus spoke to those people in that manner.

John 1:11
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.

But Jesus didn't speak English. This rubbishes and dismisses nonesense you put up shocked

When a language is translated to another, the later loses its strength, hence corrupts the original. How can you be sure Jesus said those words. Try harder again with your copy paste
Those that have read the Bible in its original language have all affirmed that it carries the same meaning as the translated versions.

Empiree, is this all you can come up with? grin grin grin

All i did was to present scriptural evidence...which really is not verifiable evidence and you do not have to accept it but I believe the revelations I get from the Bible to be true and they show that your remarks about the first century Christians, Jesus and his disciples are all wrong...I guess you must have your own bible where it says Jesus never preached the Trinity...

Trinity is simple. Trinity says there are THREE PERSONS and each are in each other, by each other, for each other, with each other and on each other...Muslims preach oneness as a number. Christianity preaches oneness as unity. Muslims says there is only 1 GOD but Christianity says there are THREE PERSONS united. That is why we say Jesus is GOD, the Father is GOD and the HolyGhost is GOD, THREE PERSONS but yet one...

Isaiah 48:16  Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

THREE PERSONS BONDED AS ONE...

The trinity is revealed in the union between a man and his wife...a man and his wife are two different entities but when they CLEAVE TO EACH OTHER they that were once two people become one, this is the oneness of the Trinity!

Genesis 2:24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:5  And God said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, and the two will become one. GNB rendition.

Herein lies the secret to the Trinity!

you must an illiterate to think you can justify Bible verses by quoting Qur'an

Quran see Jesus as messenger, no more no less. But the Bible interpretation was deeper
The Quran is a book of lies that opposes the truth of the Bible. Even as much as it is a book of lies, it's lies still bow down to the truth of the Bible.

My quoting of Quran verses is not to validate it, but to show that it bows down to the true word of God.
