Honestly, being old-school in some dynamics of the game is the answer to the overcooked super technicalities of the modern day approach to soccer.

In order words.... Sometimes to beat a high class all-modern approach requires some "old school tactics" in its purity and originality.. Lol... Kalu is one of those rising Nigerian players that will provide that... With time.

tbaba1234:
Gent: Anderlecht.... Some of the crosses by Samuel Kalu are top, top quality... Ground and air crosses. He is your old-school winger..

You attributed his falling down to stamina and all I did was tell you it wasn't stamina he lacked...I understand all concepts bro...I might not have gone full pro bro but I played to the highest level has a student..

Somebody give me Ighalo's stats at Udinese.

komekn:

I have watched him several times he is tall but he does fall over very easily. I didnt want to say anything because I have only seen clips.

He is tall but not strong.

I asked why for someone who is supposed to have so much potential why has he not broken into the first team of Roma. A total of 18 career games at the age of 21 is to be honest very poor.

He is not a replacement or even contender for the no.9 in the SE. He has a long way to go.

Crosses are not in the DNA of this present set of SE - they don't know how to give it, they don't know how to finish from it. Poor, poor, poor in that regard.

Even if Samuel Kalu comes in with crosses the fact that the team doesn't know how to make use of crosses might just be his undoing - after he crosses three times and nothing comes out of it, he would fold up. This is not an indictment on Kalu but on the team.

Maybe a Sadiq or Kayode will utilize the crosses better; or even Iheanacho.

Haha, football can be very funny.

The same Samuel Kalu can make a debut now and be making wayward crosses.

What have we not heard on this thread? It is always that player that has not been invited that is always the best.

Lo and behold Kayode has scored and the cycle is complete.

You are right. His versatility is what may seal his place in Russia in the end. I forsee six midfielders with Joel. Without Joel, we may take five.

But many don't understand.

I hope he is included among the five even if Rohr decides to take.

hello my good bro. If Iwobi plays through the middle then our two df midfielders must be very discipline. With kalu, martins and moses. Iwobi, ndidi, Mikel(Chelsea role). kalu's crosses won't be a waste with this forward line. moses, martins, iwobi, Mikel can nip in crosses. What's your thought?
MetalJigsaw:
Don't rule out Martins too

Bro! Please go back and rewatch that match u laid reference to..Martins was totally played out of position by Keshi which accounted for his dismal performance and I doubt if it wasn't deliberate since he was only invited after so much outcry by fans of the super eagles.

you guys should stop blaming coaches for players' bad performances, it's irritating pls, martins had his chances but failed to utilize them.

Just one goal doesn't necessarily mean he's back.
better to play kayode upfront than have Ighalo there....Ighalo has failed to utilize the chances he has been having...

kayode is a player that is not just a CF but can also cut in from the wings....

I tell you my brother...I am patiently waiting for someone to also blame oliseh for not inviting him.....
Martins is just like an Ighalo kind of Striker...I believe we need something better.

My point is cleared and people who really understand the game knows what am talking about.

Sadiq better than Ighalo?

yes nah....sadiq i rate better than ighalo...
Ighalo may be a poacher for his club but definetely not with the super eagles...
I see this sadiq like kanu nwankwo kind of player.....very technical and skillful too....I was always impressed with his Olympics display....he should get some of the chances Ighalo has been misusing....he will definetely make good use of it.

not same way he was when at inter Milan...
the earlier you guys wake up to reality the better it will be...

Lol... You are right shaa to an extent. Rohr rates Nacho even above Ighalo... He sees Nacho as his best forward but what Rohr needs is that player that can execute the no.9 role naturally in terms of holdup play, physical battles, and being a constant nuisance for defences. Nacho is another breed of forward. A hybrid attacker. Rohr wants a super top 9 and I know with time the Likes of Sadiq and Osimhen will lead the charge in that role followed by others who will rise strong but right now, Ighalo leads the way and maybe just maybe, we may see a Martins on the list.... Hahahahahahahahaha... Or maybe a Dessers. Time will tell aiit...

To be honest I have two ways of seeing this team...

No.1 is The team that we will field in Russia 2018

And

No.2 is the team's evolution and shape one and two years post-russia... At and After Afcon 2019, we shall see a major "gradual" influx of the new generation's remaining puzzle pieces. Watch out... wink

I understand the time is short...though.
but I will want rohr to name at least 4 good CF in his 30 man list...among these guys...2 best among them should be picked.....in respective of their pedigree...we don't care.
provided the best is picked...I believe with that....we may get a good CF...

Ighalo positioning and finishing is very poor...
those are the 2 core attributes of a good striker....
we need a forward with this two traits..every other thing can come after...

Manchester United's Tosin Kehinde has set his sights on playing for Nigeria and has already made moves to become a Super Eagle.

The 19-year-old, an Under 23 squad player at United, was born in Lagos but raised in the UK and is eligible to play for both Nigeria and England.

"Nigeria has always been a part of me. I was born there. My whole family are Nigerian. I come from a very strong Nigerian background so the influence has always been around me," Kehinde told BBC Sport.

Sir Humility,Ighalo is not good enough and you don't want Martins but you preferred Dessers and Sadiq better to add Osimhen, Awoniyi, Kalu,Onuachu, Olayinka and possibly we can find solution..

I remember Martins was scoring in La liga but when he was invited under Keshi, he did not play well at all that day.. Very disappointing..

Keshi played him as a LW, not a striker. Ideye was in the middle, with Moses and Martins flanking him. Mba was stationed as a AMF. That was why it was Musa that came for Martins not long after the break.

Keshi grudgingly invited him, and used the excuse of that match to exclude him from further call ups.

I remember Musa came in for him not long after the second half started. Musa played poorly too, and only the heroics of Oduamadi gave us the equalizer at the death.

Keshi continued to invite Musa, Ideye, Uchebo, Ujah, Gambo, players who were not at par with, nor had Martins' goal pedigree in the GWG.

To be sincere, Martins has not been treated well in the Eagles. I also think if he had access to the national team like Musa did, he would have beaten Yekini's records.

Everywhere he's gone, he's always delivered. Period!
