Nigeria's population is about 10 times that of Liberia and so are our problems 10 times that of Liberia (if not more).

Kanu should not think because George Weah is president of Liberia he too can become president of Nigeria. Being President of a complex union like Nigeria is a very big responsibility to shoulder. Ask Goodluck and Buhari how far.

Maybe kanu need to try out something new.
Maybe that's why he's giving presidential post a shot.
Let him try. He will add it to his CV... He may later find himself in Senate or house of reps.

Exposition I think...

Good Evening Papa TheSuperNerd

You have any idea what is going on with the team B of the Super Eagles? I expected a friendly in this international break, even on a small scale with some young local prospects.

By Super Eagles Team B you mean the CHAN Eagles?

What are they playing friendly for? What value will that add to the system? When their mates were busy with friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

The only other national team that played friendlies this break were the Flying Eagles against Egypt. Great friendlies if you ask me? That is where we have the young local prospects you commented about.

The team B is not the CHAN Super Eagles but a group of players who are close to be part of the main Super Eagles. Also those dropped who could have made the team. Also most likely those who have a big shot of making the next Olympics team.

SUPER EAGLES B/OLYMPIC MEN TEAMSalisu Yusuf (Head Coach); Imama Amapakabo; Kennedy Boboye; Fidelis Ilechukwu; Alloy Agu (Goalkeepers’ Trainer)

The NFF listed the above as the coaches for the team B although I still have some disagreement with the arrangement.

However, the team should promote competition for the current squad, a room to test likely candidates for the Super Eagles with less risk and also integrating potentials who are distant to the culture of the team.

The Nations Cup qualifiers starts after the World Cup. This should be a chance to prepare those who would challenge for places now.

Players like Alampasu could have been tested during this break.

The CHAN tournament requires/required home based players, that was why the selection was home based. Not that it restricts us from having foreign based players as part of the B team. That is why I disagree with the arrangement.

Salisu can not head the B team and be part of the main team. It just can not work if we are serious about maintaining competition in the Super Eagles.

This arm needs serious attention and it can grow into even attracting sponsors if they play delightful football and bring in good records.

We should not wait for CHAN before organising the B team. We should organize friendlies even locally during the breaks.

Good to know, I just wish we will be fast enough and invite in one of the friendlies. That will keep Scotland away for a while till he gets capped.

if you cap him for a friendly, Scotland will want to cap him competitively sharp sharp.

The only advantage we may have over them is that Nigeria is more likely to win continental trophies and qualify for the World Cup than Scotland, so basically, a more successful international career awaits him with us as against them

He has shown that finishing only 4 times in 15 games...
Goals don't always tell the story of how good a striker is, against Cameroon he scored, assisted and had that brilliant dummy he sold for Mikel on the corner goal. Against Zambia he unsighted the keeper and made a routine save into a world cup ticket sealing goal.
He was the brightest spot in our last 2 friendlies, against Poland he showed an entirely different side with his relentless pressing and his hold up play was better than Lewandowski's on the day, in fact if my opinion counted for anything I would say he was the best performing striker on the pitch that day. In London against Serbia he won more fouls in that half than probably any player in the entire game and his hold up was also on top notch, he almost scored on his butt if not for a great save by their keeper.
Lets worry about creating the chances before we start pointing fingers at the striker because to play striker for Nigeria right now is to suffer. U never know whether to position for a cross or just time a rebound. Once our player approach the box they go for self when they should be playing with their striker. These guys are not machines, u can't not pass to ur striker the whole game then expect him to bury the first half chance he sees, that might happen sometimes but not all the time.

Striker will always be judged by goals.. Ideye is a very hard working striker too but his return is poor.

Rohr combs Europe for strikers

Apparently not satisfied with the performance of his players against Serbia last Tuesday, the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has vowed to get prolific strikers that would deliver at this year’s World Cup.

The Eagles, after labouring to beat Poland 1-0 on March 23rd, 2018, the team played below expectation in the next match against Serbia at the Barnet Stadium in England four days later. Rohr has since spread his dragnet to search for potent strikers and unique players that could transform his team to a world beater.

In a chat with NationSport when asked if he was looking for prolific strikers that can score goals more easily for the Eagles, Rohr disclosed that he has put the machinery in motion to upgrade all the departments of his team in readiness for the 2018 World Cup

“We are still ready to take someone really stronger than those players we have. Each weekend we are monitoring a lot of players with our scouting team”, the Franco- German football tactician replied.

That's not true. A striker is judged by how effective he is playing with the team, the same goes for every other position because football is a team sport. In his last few games Ighalo has been very effective for the Super Eagles. The goals will come because he has been scoring goals all through his career. People forget that he was dealing with the loss of his dad at Watford and had a coach in Walter Mazzarri who had issues with half the players including him.

Strikers are judged by goals.. Marouane Chamakh was a hardworking striker at Arsenal but scored very little.... He can not be ranked among Arsenal most effective strikers.

Before Watford, Ighalo was NEVER prolific.. You have to go back to the Italian Primavera (youth league) to see Ighalo scoring several goals.

In la liga, he never scored more than 6 goals a season.. There is a reason why he never got invited until he moved to England.

That said, we want him to hit his best form but i can not be looking for other positives when a striker is not scoring..

Is ighalo not on form for his chinese club? 30 chinese league games and 16 goals,is that not a good stat?

Granada is not a goal scoring team,a team always fighting to escape relagation you dont expect him to score 20 goals there.

Please can you tell me the nigeria striker that has more better stats than ighalo from last season till now? Maye onyekuru who play as a winger?

I am concerned about his form for Nigeria.. If he scores for Nigeria and does not score at club level, i do not care..

Ideye scored plenty goals in Ukraine but could not reproduce that form for Nigeria, Akpala scored a lot in Belgium but could not reproduce that for Nigeria, Ujah was a goal machine in Germany but failed to replicate that for Nigeria.

His return for Nigeria is poor, 4 goals in 15.. That needs to drastically improve in the WC..

Players are invited by their club form,if they invite a player that is not getting goals you people will say the person is not supposed to be invited.

How is your MD playing that you want him to always score goal? How many chanced did super eagles created against poland and serbia that ighalo fail to convert?

Leave ideye out of this, even King Kanu did not score more than 12 goals in 87 appearance while ordinary Nacho has 8 goals in 14 games

His general output has not been great for the super eagles.. Ighalo was invited on the back of his great Watford form but has never reproduced same for Nigeria.

Before Ighalo's goal against Cameroon, his last competitive goal was a penalty against Chad in 2015..

Two competitive goals, one penalty.. That is poor..

Kanu was not a top striker for Nigeria and he was usually a support striker. And yes, even then his goal return was poor but he had other contributions. Important assists and all.

Iheanacho is not ordinary..

And it's a good thing too she was called up because our ladies were initially billed to head to France with 17 players as 6 pulled out due to injuries, club issues/commitment and work permit stuffs (Oshoala esp.)

I'm sure the Super falcons thread will carry this news soon...
