By Super Eagles Team B you mean the CHAN Eagles?

What are they playing friendly for? What value will that add to the system? When their mates were busy with friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

The only other national team that played friendlies this break were the Flying Eagles against Egypt. Great friendlies if you ask me? That is where we have the young local prospects you commented about.

The team B is not the CHAN Super Eagles but a group of players who are close to be part of the main Super Eagles. Also those dropped who could have made the team. Also most likely those who have a big shot of making the next Olympics team.

The NFF listed the above as the coaches for the team B although I still have some disagreement with the arrangement.

However, the team should promote competition for the current squad, a room to test likely candidates for the Super Eagles with less risk and also integrating potentials who are distant to the culture of the team.

The Nations Cup qualifiers starts after the World Cup. This should be a chance to prepare those who would challenge for places now.

Players like Alampasu could have been tested during this break.

Goals don't always tell the story of how good a striker is, against Cameroon he scored, assisted and had that brilliant dummy he sold for Mikel on the corner goal. Against Zambia he unsighted the keeper and made a routine save into a world cup ticket sealing goal.
He was the brightest spot in our last 2 friendlies, against Poland he showed an entirely different side with his relentless pressing and his hold up play was better than Lewandowski's on the day, in fact if my opinion counted for anything I would say he was the best performing striker on the pitch that day. In London against Serbia he won more fouls in that half than probably any player in the entire game and his hold up was also on top notch, he almost scored on his butt if not for a great save by their keeper.
Lets worry about creating the chances before we start pointing fingers at the striker because to play striker for Nigeria right now is to suffer. U never know whether to position for a cross or just time a rebound. Once our player approach the box they go for self when they should be playing with their striker. These guys are not machines, u can't not pass to ur striker the whole game then expect him to bury the first half chance he sees, that might happen sometimes but not all the time.

Striker will always be judged by goals.. Ideye is a very hard working striker too but his return is poor.

That's not true. A striker is judged by how effective he is playing with the team, the same goes for every other position because football is a team sport. In his last few games Ighalo has been very effective for the Super Eagles. The goals will come because he has been scoring goals all through his career. People forget that he was dealing with the loss of his dad at Watford and had a coach in Walter Mazzarri who had issues with half the players including him.

Strikers are judged by goals.. Marouane Chamakh was a hardworking striker at Arsenal but scored very little.... He can not be ranked among Arsenal most effective strikers.

Before Watford, Ighalo was NEVER prolific.. You have to go back to the Italian Primavera (youth league) to see Ighalo scoring several goals.

In la liga, he never scored more than 6 goals a season.. There is a reason why he never got invited until he moved to England.

That said, we want him to hit his best form but i can not be looking for other positives when a striker is not scoring..

Granada is not a goal scoring team,a team always fighting to escape relagation you dont expect him to score 20 goals there.

I am concerned about his form for Nigeria.. If he scores for Nigeria and does not score at club level, i do not care..

Ideye scored plenty goals in Ukraine but could not reproduce that form for Nigeria, Akpala scored a lot in Belgium but could not reproduce that for Nigeria, Ujah was a goal machine in Germany but failed to replicate that for Nigeria.

His return for Nigeria is poor, 4 goals in 15.. That needs to drastically improve in the WC..

Leave ideye out of this,even King Kanu did not score more than 12 goals in 87 appearance while ordinary Nacho has 8 goals in 14 games

Kanu was not a top striker for Nigeria and he was usually a support striker. And yes, even then his goal return was poor but he had other contributions. Important assists and all.

His general output has not been great for the super eagles.. Ighalo was invited on the back of his great Watford form but has never reproduced same for Nigeria.

Before Ighalo's goal against Cameroon, his last competitive goal was a penalty against Chad in 2015..

Two competitive goals, one penalty.. That is poor..

Kelechi has had a better return in his national team career so far..

I support Ighalo and he has shown that he can score... I just want to see it in the super eagles
