Prudento:Prudento, Your first year of study is what is required of you and not the 2 years duration of your stay. Tuition=? Room and board = 10kCAD Others = 3KCAD= Tuition + Room and board + others = Funds available for your stay. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Prudento: 3:05pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
Frankrobbn1: Please what do they really mean by "board", is the $10k wat should be there or you're giving an instance? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 3:44pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
Prudento: Board is your food. No total for room and Board a year is not always 10k. It all depends on region and school. The 10k a year from CIC is only an average. Many schools indicate th cost of room and Board on their fillings on the IRCC form or on your admission letter. You can also print it off the internet on the school’s website specifying room and Board. When you print, you can enclose the print out with your visa application so that VO knows where you got your figures from. |

Shoutout to all the gurus in the house. Welcome back Frank.. My question is concerning booking tickets. Is it a must for one to book a to and fro flight/ticket, for a two years program in Canada or just book a to flight/ticket because I hear at point of entry it raises red flag of some sort? 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 9:33pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
OFFICIALAEL: A one way ticket at point of entry only raises a red flag if you are on a visitor’s visa. But for a student with prolonged stay of at least two years, a one way ticket is fine. But if you want to buy two way and dash me the return by sending it back to Nigeria for me to reschedule and use on my way to Canada, you are welcome. |

Good day House, This might not be the appropriate thread for my question but would really appreciate any input. What is the possibility of getting my wife's SOWP approved with my approved TRV. I heard i would need my study permit (which would be issued at the point of entry) and a letterof enrolment from my school stating information about me and my course. But from my observation from comments here, i did not see any mention of these documents. Thanks in Advance! |

Hello house, i have been an active reader on this forum, and i must say this forum is one of the best i have ever belong to. Welcome back boss frank! Gurus in the house i need help from you all, i graduated from production Engineering department from a nigerian university in 2016, and finished my NYSC in december 2017 which was last year, applied for a course at brandon University canada which is Applied Disaster and Emergency studies, and i was given admission at the university, actually they offered me admission as a second degree student, meaning i am going to finish the degree in 2 years or 2.5 years and not 4 years.. i want to know if i should go ahead and apply, as am thinking they might delay my visa because it is another under graduate, but am not doing it for 4 years, rather am doing it for 2 years due to prior learning and the university recognized my first degree.i cant do a masters because i graduated with a 2:2 and i dont want a PGD because it difficult getting a PGD in that course, and Brandon University is the first and only university offering that course in canada, and no nigerian university offers same course, except similar courses and they are relatively new course here in Nigeria.i heard they dont grant visa to those who have undergraduate degree before. please house what advise can you give me, as my biological brother is my sponsor and he is an Assistant professor at a University in USA and my mom the co sponsor. Wount they say my biological brother is based in the US as a top lecturer in a university that it will affect me.. I need the house to help me. please help me house. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 12:50pm On Apr 03, 2018 |
kingfintan: This question you have posted numerous times and has been answered. The only new information you provided is the question of whether your brother based in the U.S., can affect your application. The answer is yes somewhat. Try and present your brother’s legal status in the United States along with his sponsorship affidavit and bank statement. If you have good ties to Nigeria, your brother been based in the United States should not effect you. |

tomiade1: There is a great possibility if you can show you have enough money to support her. 10dollars a year plus additional 4K for spouse and 3k for dependents. And she has to qualify for other requirements of the laws. There is a forum you can join on Nairaland dedicated to spousal work permit. So this is the wrong forum to post. Here is also a link to help you with knowing what to submit in applying for the SOWP for your wife to join you in Canada. The processing time is long! https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/help-your-spouse-common-law-partner-work-canada.html |

Hello!!! Gurus in the house I have a question, my girlfriend got admission in a college in Canada and we are planning online route for Visa application. My question is how do we go about the biometric? Is the fee payable alongside with the Visa fee of $150 the same time? I.e paying $235 at a go? Please someone should guide us |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 2:39pm On Apr 03, 2018 |
Linzo: The fees for online payment and biometrics are payable at the same time. You would be called for biometrics a few days later after you have submitted your application online. |
