Hello!!! Gurus in the house I have a question, my girlfriend got admission in a college in Canada and we are planning online route for Visa application. My question is how do we go about the biometric? Is the fee payable alongside with the Visa fee of $150 the same time? I.e paying $235 at a go? Please someone should guide us

You're going to be charged $235 at once and that covers the visa fee and biometrics. Then you will get a letter that you will take to vfs office in lag or Abj.

The fees for online payment and biometrics are payable at the same time. You would be called for biometrics a few days later after you have submitted your application online.
Thank you so much

There is a great possibility if you can show you have enough money to support her. 10dollars a year plus additional 4K for spouse and 3k for dependents. And she has to qualify for other requirements of the laws. There is a forum you can join on Nairaland dedicated to spousal work permit. So this is the wrong forum to post. Here is also a link to help you with knowing what to submit in applying for the SOWP for your wife to join you in Canada. The processing time is long!

Hello everybody,
Pls I need info on some issues

1. How do I pay online college application fees? Do I need a domiciliary account (with Canadian dollars) ? Or how is it done?

2. Who here took the IELTS academic? Did you take classes? Does one really need classes? Where did you get study materials from?

Thank you and have a great day

We are plenty in that boat bro. Although I applied for Masters in Mechanical Engineering, I have friends that applied for Electrical Engineering.

4 months strong bro, 4 months strong. Lol

Mention me when you hear anything, I'd do same.

Here are the answers to your questions
1. You don't need a domiciliary account to pay for application fee, you only need a master card from Gtbank, sterling bank, uba stanbic bank or a visa card from Access bank.

2. What are you using the IELTS? to study in Canada?, such English text is waived for Nigerians and some other nationalities except in some courses like nursing, but its also waved by up to 70% of the schools in Canada.

No. The most important thing is for you to convince the VO and go straight to the point without unnecessary stories .

1. You can use ur naira debit card. I used ma FCMB debit card for mine. So I guess any bank will do

2. You don't necessarily need to take class. You can download tutorials from YouTube and also download the app from play store. Best of luck

You can write IELTS through a self study. Get a lot of material for all the modules especially speaking test but focus more on Reading and writing to get a minimum of 6. Mind you, you need a minimum overall of 6.5

For the IELTS, you can read it up at your own pace and excel. I did mine and got band 7.5 on first attempt. So you can do it too.

Thank you and have a great day

seyo99,

Use the below link to order for your GCMS Note. It goes for $5, but you will require someone who is a Permanent Residence of Canada, a citizenship , a Visitor, or a student that is legally residing in Canada to help order this note for you. You will need to input their address on the form, fill the form and resend it back to them to order the note on your behalf.

Or better still, ask for the person's address over there in Canada, download the form and complete payment here in Nigeria.

Thank you very much sir, U really have been a grate assistance I do appreciate.. I will look into it as well..thanks
Frankrobbn1:

Kemdy97,

If you follow my advise and get a new acceptance letter (BSc computer Science) that is directly relevant to your previous studies/job role as a computer operator the better for you.
I don't know how to address your study gaps for you, as you should know what you've been doing all this while. As I said previously, if SAT will be the best option to cover your study gaps fine. But I don't see reasons saying you're preparing for SAT exams for 12 months.

The stipulation of the law is that “anybody” in Canada can order a GCMS note for you for $5. smiley
