I will give this quick lecture on fuel consumption and sludge, how they relate.

Newer cars from 2002-date have variable valve timing systems, these systems work with oil flow/pressure to determine timing settings. You will notice most engine covers with inscriptions like VVTI IVTEC, CVVT etc... its all same technology every one just wants a special name tag.

Now here's the snag.

You buy a happy toks car, it's a sprinter.... 0-60 in 10secs ( tongue it's a bloody Corolla) 6months later it stops sprinting, 1 year later it's a log of wood and engine vibrates when ac is turned on, finds it difficult to climb hills and fuel consumption has almost doubled.

Now here's a bit of what happened (Nigerian 20w50 sludge context)

The timing settings are set to a retar.ded position when inactive or without any instruction from the ecm. With sludge in the mix, it is almost always in 1 position. The OCV (oil control valve)has oil strainers that keep dirt out of the device, and once engine develops a sludge issue oil flow stops. Engine will not throw a rod, but timing setting become epileptic, or get stuck in a retar.ded position, making the engine very in efficient.

Pics below show what the OCV oil strainers will look like when engine has mild, sludge, and when it is clean.

So take out time and clean your OCV strainers, you will get better fuel mileage. wink

We can motivate each other on to greater things. I joined this this solely because of what I read here, unfortunately I have been making excuses for myself of how I can only achieve an average of 60k per week after commission for past 10weeks.

Not until last week I saw earnings @ daveonoja and @ifeanyimark post that I told myself I have been sleeping on bicycle. Lol

Summary
Earnings after commission : 109k
Offline and perks : 4k
Tolls : 5k

Vehicle Fueling analysis:
Vehicle: 406 Manual
Fueling : 27k
Total net income : 109k+4k minus 5k =108k
Minus bonuses of 18k = 90k
So it took 27k fuel to get 90k Actually Income.
Therefore we can say that for every 1k fuel purchased I will make 3k plus as Actually Income (Net income minus tolls).
This analysis has been constant on my Peugeot 406 for the past 8 weeks. First Two weeks were a case of jjc who didn't know ANYWHERE in Lagos.

Let us have your analysis on actual income for fuel to car analysis

Let somebody out there be encouraged. You can do it.

Holla @romeo the only guy here I have met in person and all who have made this thread great.

If you see a red wine colour 406 with NBA sticker on windshield Na me be dat. If you dey enter elegushi for night u fit corner me dia some nights.

The sacrifice to make more money on the road is a story for another day. Meanwhile make more money and put more vehicles on road to stabilise income.

Thanks

It has happened to me three times. This happens when you try to calculate the trip fare while the trip is still on. Some of us often try to see how much the trip fare has grown while we are driving and the trip is not yet ended. The app misbehaves at this point and by the time you finally end the trip ( after all the traffic, long distance, two hours drive), you will simply see one ridiculous #1,200 as the fare. MY ADVICE: Don't check the price while you are still on trip. Wait till the end of the trip before you touch the app
bro this is not true.. I check prices from beginning to the end of the journey and it has never happened to me.. It's better to check during the course of the trip so if it's not working u negotiate with the rider while the ball is still in ur court.. To avoid stories that touch

On another note...some drivers hav cultivated a fraudulent practice...of showing riders munched screen from previous trips so as to collect more money....pls if u are involved in such you hav to stop it it wld cash up with you...this happened to my sister recently and I have decide to fight d driver to the core I have given him 24hrs grace to do d needful or I will publish his detail everywhere and take him to taxify.. she complained that she took taxify from Ago to festac and at d end of d trip the driver showed her 2700 and she was shocked but ended paying .....I checked her trip history only to see 1300 there, called the driver, he said it was taxify that charged her...I then requested for a munched screen of the trip history so as to end d issue if I see 2700 there cos we had sent the trip history from her own fone to him to see....but he is asking me why should he send it... why munch a screen of past trip and show riders...it is disgraceful
