Taymiia7: Go to the express entry room and ask tell them this. There’s a group for landing immigrants. You will receive more support there. |

Newman1010: Many won’t understand the value of your advise for him. He might not himself too. But for those that care, Canada election is happening next year with no guarantee that Trudeau will be re-elected. Trudeau’s government is the one that is making express entry and immigration easier “every secs”. If there’s change in government, there would likely be change in immigration policy. Let those that have ears listen to this. If you by any chance want to stay in Canada after study, go and read about express entry. Don’t lie in your app. Whatever documents/job you say you don’t have now, you cannot claim it later. So, if you don’t show BSc or masters now, you can’t enter and say you want to use it. You will have to wait. Else, you risk the implication of being caught e.g. deportation and or ban. I drop my pen. 11 Likes |

Kezbaba: That’s not an excuse. Go and get it. Pay for the exam, Prepare very well for it, and ace it. Everyone that started express entry doesn’t usually have it before starting it. I didn’t have proof of English until August last year. So, that’s your least problem if you can prepare well for it. 1 Like |

jnyuwa02: It seems you didnt read him or you just want to quote me wrongly. He said he had already SECURED a supervisor in the second option. I didnt say that securing a supervisor means admission is guarranteed. I said he has already secured 50% chance, which is true. Many applicants (thesis-based) even here on this nairaland that were denied offer because no supervisor accepted them. You're wrong again. Some schools in Canada would tell you that funding is available (just like his first option). If you've a high CGPA & good SOP, offer will be made and funding given. You dont need to apply for funding separately. Some schools would tell you that there is NO funding (his second option) no matter your grade or SOP. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 9:25pm On Apr 09, 2018 |
Slik07: Long story short, the first option is by far the best! I won’t get into the minutia again, he should choose that!! Everyone that commented obviously sees that differences between both are like night and day!! Schools that don’t require supervisors have a liberal policy. One might stand to gain admission and other benefits there as a result of such liberalism than ones with stipulations that one obtain a supervisor first and then they have no funding. Shhh!! |

Why not take out time to read the cic website. If you want to go on such an adventure the least you could do is read. It is clear a lot of us just want to be spoon fed. To your 2nd question it is better you say it as it is. This is 2018 and you finished service in 2016 so why are you talking of 10 years work experience. samo50: |

kylexy61: Thanks. I appreciate this. Resilience is important. To those that were not able to get admission, you have to try again. Canada masters admission is becoming more and more competitive with limited space for international student. So, if your GPA is lower, add US schools as a back up. No matter what, you will still get a good education and can immigrate to Canada after US study. If God 1 to bless you self, their Oga will do as he promise and he would scrap Visa lottery for immigration like Canada. Then we go show am say we are overqualified and not shitty. 1 Like |

Osemigho: Hi bro, You are one of the persons that inspired me. Thanks. A quick one for you, one of the conditions on my funding is that, i have a valid study permit during the duration of my studies, if i decide to apply for the express entry and i get it, what happens to my funding? Or is it possible to keep the PR and complete one's study with the study permit? |

xrisla: 1. Make Google your best friend. Search for “universities in CAnada.” They are not much, less than 40. You can afford to read through every school requirements and application process. Concentrate on reading about the academic department you are interested in and their policies for admission. 2. Make sure your masters is completed with a strong GPA. This will offset your poor undergraduate record. 3. Apply for a PHD program, not a second masters that is a Herculean case to make before a VO that you are a genuine student. 4. Many schools in Canada have full funding or one form of funding or the other for PHD graduate students with strong grades and excellent research skills. Take advantage of it!! 5. Look for alternative funding in Nigeria like the PTDF scholarships which awards aid to PHD candidates. Just Incase you get admission and no funding from Canadian schools. You can also pay for yourself if you have the money or someone is willing to sponsor you!! 6. If you follow these steps, you will be well positioned to win a visa. 2 Likes |

xrisla: You have not seen your elder o. lol. If you calculate your score and realize you have great chances, the best time to write ielts is 1 month to the time you are expecting your certificate evaluation result. I suggest that because I expect you to practice well. I started my certificate evaluation in April, did ielts in August, invitation and submission in September, and PR November. So, you need to calaculate and strategize. Before your ielts, you should also be working on getting the required funds as well. Above all, pray for favour But don’t deceive yourself and be praying alone. 5 Likes |

I meant ur friend (Sponsor) needs to do his homework(not you) to convince the Vo that he is very capable to sponsor you since he isnt a Father, Mother, Uncle or a close relation that most peeps use as sponsors. He will need to show financial documents(You can go through previous threads for that part 11, 12, 13). 2. When u said Diploma, do u mean PGD? If yes, then u have a chance. Having an HND and going for a PGD course shows progression so far the course u studied is in line with what u are planning of studying. Good luck Kezbaba: |
