Was he why they were 2;0 down? If you watch the replay, you would see that the midfield was not active at all and the backline kept making silly errors. The sub was good but he wrong person was removed. tbaba1234: |

somehow: Perhaps but removing Musa for another striker is something any manager can do, especially if you are looking for a goal... 1 Like |

You don't remove striker for a striker if you're looking for goals when you can add another striker to give yourself more options. Alan Dzagoev was useless in the midfield and even rated as the worst on that day, yet he left him for the full match. He used 3-1-4-2 formation, the back was so leaky and the middle kept losing balls. Moved Vitinho to the middle, infact the formation that day brought about their lost which should be blamed on the coach. All the same, Musa should apologize and everything will be fine. tbaba1234: |

somehow: If a striker is not effective, you change things around in search of a goal.. Musa was subbed out fairly early in the second half. 2 Likes |

krattoss: The most competitive and physically challenging league in the World the best is a matter of preference to me. But widely acclaimed by numerous authoritative bodies as the best. Not like Bundesliga rated 4th in Europe where one team has won the league 6 times in a row. Add to that has totally dominated for the past two decades. So it is safe to say the Bundesliga is a one team league. 1 Like |

gamaliel9: how do you rate contribution to the team, this guy at some point was playing for under20, under23 and national team without complaining, in 2011 AYC Musa was playing that tournament and as well playing in Holland, travel back after each match. what do you know about contributions to a team, you think is easy to boast 67 caps for a national team at 25 years. how many Nigeria players have 2 worldcup goals to there name, Musa started all the world 2014 qualifier games. Bros you must not fly at night to be called a wizard or witch, to be happy about your follow man downfall can make you one 6 Likes |

edi287: The main reason why England national team is not doing well is because they go for any player that did way prior to the call up, every national team should have it core players and gently inject in new players gradually. Musa is part of the core super eagles player, his the assistant captain, he has worldcup experience and for other non footballing reason like playing in Russia for some years will make the worldcup team if his injury free and can get some game time In the last worldcup player like podolski was called up and was even starting games for Germany even after having a poor season with arsenal, because he was part of the core Germany team. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 11:19am On Apr 11, 2018 |
Martz101: I respect what Musa has done for Nigeria in the past. I do not think it is right to dismiss all that he has done. However, if there are players that can contribute more than what musa can contribute right now, then they should be given a chance to prove it. This is why Rohr's March list was a disappointment, it should have been used as a chance to test some probables. Musa is no longer at the top of his game. England performances have nothing to do with "core players". England has always had core players... Germany went to the confederations cup with a totally brand new team and won it. 1 Like |

Martz101: Oga, musa is not a reliable person to give u goals when u need them, honestly he has enjoyed more call up than most people in super eagles and dont know the reason why. We have to look at his contributions so far and honestly I cant think of one except 2014 worldcup and only the argentine game. That guy need to give way for new players cos he definitely is not adding any value to the team right now. 2 Likes |

tbaba1234: The issue here is that there are so many players that can play that musa role right now but av not been called up or tested. If we consider playing him as a CF then we will have to look at his conversion ratio which is poor. Abeg musa has to give way here. |
