Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 3:22pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
bbclue:bbclue, The length of your program has alot to do with your visa application. I best suggest you go for a 2 years PGD program in a college that is reasonable with your previous studies/job role than a year program in university. The reason why I said this, is because most applicants going for a short term program (a year) in Canada are most times tagged by a Visa officer that such applicant is not a genuine student that is using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada. I saw some folks here saying going for a PGD in college is always tough to acquire visa, this is totally a falsified belief and I must refute that fact. If you can package your application tightly and present a convincing SOP to support your application, your application will turn out to be successful. So, please don't be deceived with that misleading ideology. All the best! 2 Likes |

Hello Forum, As a citizen of Canada, I am not familiar with the visas rules and regulations. However, someone has sent me the below message to which I would like to ask for your assistance. Thanks. " I am coming to Canada for a 30 weeks course but my study permit is one year. Will I be able to work 40hours/week for the remaining 22 weeks before applying for extension of stay for another one year. " |

Frank.R 1 year masters, which has academic consistency. UG related to intend masters program. Compared to PGd college 2 years UG related to pG course as well... Do you think there's higher rate for TRV to fly for the PGD compared to masters of 1 year duration ? Are you saying master of 1 year duration is likely to be questiond based on L.O.P stay ? |

jnyuwa02: Lol. No jnyuwa02. I posted just once and then re-posted when no one answered. Someone else was interested in the question and quoted me. We have to be tenacious in seeking and asking till we get answers so we can do the proper thing. Yes I was also concerned about having to submit my original certificates. This whole application + forms issue needs to be streamlined by the commission as it can be a bit confusing to applicants. Thank you for answering as usual. You are really of great help. |

Please I really need help here as I am confused right now! I'm looking for a school in Canada that I can apply to against Fall 2018 admissions. I saw one but it's a research based course and I don't even know how to go about contacting the supervisors and indicating false interest in research when I kno I'm not interested in research. I wanted to do an M.Sc in Public health in Canada but the deadline to upload documents has passed already for most schools meaning I have to wait till October to start my application again and I don't want that. Please is der any course I can do first to get accepted and then when I get der, I defer my admission and apply for public health instead? I studied biochemistry |
Hello everyone, I must say I am very impressed with the detailed information that have been passed on this forum by patriotic citizens. Good eye opener. I recently got an admission to study Master of Public Health. I am really taking my time to gather all documents required to apply for my study permit, also have been making my research to identify loop holes in denied visa applications and try to fill them when I start my application. Nairaland has contributed immensely to this. Did my undergraduate in public health and graduated 2016, started service 2017 and I will be passing out from NYSC on the 12th of April, 2018. My uncle will be my financial sponsor and he is a citizen of U.S.A and lives there. I have read all the documents he will need to provide to satisfy the financial support requirement during my application. However, I want to know...as a recent graduate who has no employment offer, no land or personal assets as ties to home country, no spouse, no child, and am the second daughter in the family, how do i defend my home ties and intention to return to Nigeria after my study in Canada? I anticipate your reply..thank you much Congrats to you. Please, may I know if you submitted any English proficiency test before applying to alberta? from the countries listed on the page, they dint make mention of Nigeria.kindly shed more light. thanks |
princetunex, You don't need to pay 100k to get PGD admission in Canada and visa processing fee cost 56k for paper route and 65-68k for online route. So, save the 200k meant for the visa process(as said by your agent) and go through the stress yourself by reading through the previous past thread 13 and asking questions. As for the tuition 3.5M check the school of your choice webpage, it will be clearly stated there. Also, explore to below schools, they are quite cheaper and admission process is easier to get. 1-) Algonquin college 2-) Durham college 3-) Seneca college 4-) Holland college PEI 5-) Conestoga College 6-) Nova Scotia community college Finally extend your research to www.google.com as it will be in best position to answer your queries at this early stage of yours. Been on this thread as a newbie for days, been reading and going through thread before applying and I must say you've been of great assistance.I am about applying to alberta university for fall 2018 as the application is still on for electrical engineering graduate. this are my questions and I will be glad to get answers; from several replies on here, 1) I can see different saying such as (it's better to apply to colleges for pgd instead of university for masters. my concern is I graduated with a 2.1 in electrical engineering, won't my application to colleges for pgd be questioned even tho I am well informed of the fact colleges offer more practical training for pgd courses which I am particular about, secondly; may I know if some colleges are still accepting application for fall 2018. I would appreciate if you can list some colleges. been trying to navigate my way on google also.but I love the information on here . thank you @frankrobbin 1 Like |

Hi house, its been a while. I will like to comment on the issue of using a company's soa, the company will have to show commitment by transferring the full funding to the applicant's care/account. Also a letter stating their reasons will go a long way. Above other documents the applicant will submit, a letter from the company approving he/she has been given study leave for the duration of the program will go a long way. |

If your previous study was done in english, just provide them with a letter of attestation from your school registrar saying the language of instruction during your studies was english. |

Good evening all.. Someome is to submit password this week for TRV approved. And school resumes September. My question is 1.When does the Visa starts counting ? 2. The duration of the course is 16 months.. What will be the duration of the trv. Is it exactly 16 months, beyond or less ? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Ratawu: 9:03pm On Apr 11, 2018 |
I Asapant: Did you mean passport or password? For your questions; 1. The visa starts counting from the day it was issued. 2. The visa is just for him to enter Canada. The real study permit will be issued when he arrives Canada which will cover the duration of his program but if hos visa expires before be finishes his course and he want to leave Canada and return, he can apply for an extension in Canada. |

It is normal that till date my cic Page hasn’t been updated to confirm that my biometrics has been received from vfs? |

TheCongo2: You can work even without a work permit as a student on campus for 20 hours a week when school is in session and 40 hours a week when school is out of session. If you want to work off campus however, you must obtain a work permit and allowed to work 20 hours during the academic session and 40 hours during the regular scheduled fall and winter holidays when school is not in session. So the answer is yes. Those 22 weeks that you are not in school and waiting the extension of your student permit, you can work full time so far you have a valid work permit. 3 Likes |

OFFICIALAEL: You must put the tracking number, not the reference number. Many people confuse this. It is 20 digit consisting of alphabets and numbers, 20180309CAABSTU19934 for example. You must input your birthday correctly too. |

Hello Gurus, I need a advise regarding my desire to do an MBA in Canada. I don't want to dive in blind, please I need your valued input. I'm currently in Canada for a three week holiday. I've decided to apply for an MBA in a Canadian school, that starts next year. I'm married with three kids 5, 6, 8 years old. I'll want my kids with me whilst doing my MBA. Hubby has a good job, he's staying back in Nigeria. I run a successful company thats 7 years old. I intend to shut it down while I'm at school. My questions are: 1. Is it adviceable to apply for my kids as I'm applying for my study permit or wait till I get it then send theirs in? 2. Will it be easier to get the visa as a business owner or as a staff (manager) of a company? 3. What evidence will I need in both cases above to prove that I have ties in Nigeria? Any additional advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance |
