Frankrobbn1: Nobody knows it all here. We are just here to share notes and ideas to help ourselves. WHAT WOULD I GAIN FROM GIVING WRONG INFORMATION? I contributed to the question based on my personal experience at the VFS and that was my teacher. Truly, I completed IMM5707 from home and when it reached my turn to submit around 5pm since 07:45am, the VFS guy told me it was the wrong form and I had to spend another money to come the next day and filled the IMM 5645 with additional N3000 at their business centre. And when we argue it here, the concesus way forward was that because of the inconsistency of the VFS guy, people should go with the two forms and give them the one they want in which o totally concurred with. THEN WHY LAMBASTING ME AS IF I WAS YOUR KID. Don't behave as if you know it all and we need to respect each other. Thank you 5 Likes |

Hello sir, Kindly read through the application guidelines on the website of your intended uni. There are some courses in Canada that you don't need to secure a supervisor prior to admission but advised to submit in your application in good fate, and you would be contacted if you meet the requirements. These uni evaluates your transcript, recommendation letter and your statement of intent. Offers are made to students based on (1) their available project funding, (2) student's background and skills, and (3) interest alignment. Endeavor to contact the Graduate Program Assistant for guidance. They offer the best advise. Also, note that if your intended course of study needs you to identify with a supervisor before acceptance, you need to be strategic in selling yourself. I will advise you to read through the below link for more information; HINTS ON SECURING MSc ADMISSIONS IN CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES TIPS ON FINDING A RESEARCH SUPERVISOR FOR RESEARCH OR THESIS-BASED MSC OR PHD Part I TIPS ON FINDING A RESEARCH SUPERVISOR FOR RESEARCH OR THESIS-BASED MSC OR PHD Part II Otapiapia1: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hi everyone, I want to apply for my study permit via online method. I want to ask where can I upload documents like police report, educational documents, marriage certificate. I can only see a section for "client information". Thanks your responses are appreciated. |

jnyuwa02: Thank you dear. Also please what can be the word limit for a detailed SOP or page limit. I have written about 1300 words already, which has amounted to almost 3pages, is this too much? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 2:24am On Apr 15, 2018 |
Jewel80: There is no word limit. 3-4 pages I find are the perfect fit to explain all your situation and circumstances without leaving anything out. |

Yinkarolie: That is where to upload additional documents you want the VO to see that are not explicitly stated on the online profiling, upload to “client information.” You are looking at the right place. |

Officially - No. But I was contacted yesterday by a Prof in Oil and Gas Engr who asked me to immediately change my course from Ocean Engr with graduate school ; that he would be reviewing my application as he sees I posses the relevant skills to work in his research group and that there is a high tendency that he wld be accepting me for Fall 2018. He further went ahead to tell me the specific area I would most likely be researching on - which I noticed is very connected to ocean engr and also my current job role - fingers crossed. Any info from your end?? Famzyactivity: |

croyance: None accept a second class lower for a law program. Your best bet is an MBA program if you have a lot of work experience, some very limited schools will take you. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Ratawu: 5:34am On Apr 15, 2018 |
adecoal: It is better you declare it because these embassy guys are not predictable. If you tick "NO" and your medical report shows that you have the history of TB, then you risk being alleged of MISREPRESENTATION. Our people should learn from what happened to some applicants last year when they ticked "NO" to question in the form if they have been refused any visa before and unknowingly to them, the background check conducted by the IRCC with the U.S. Data base revealed that they have been refused USA visa on the past and misrepresentation with 5 years ban was their verdict. THIS KIND OF BAN IS AVOIDABLE. |

kingfintan:kingfintan, Going for a second degree on your discipline in Canada shows no logical progression. If you think an SOP can conquer this, then go ahead and present a rational explanation to why you opted out for a second degree instead of a PGD. But to be frank with you, most of this visa officers don't believe what is on your SOP when it comes to a case like yours, most especially when they have gone through your file entirety and find out that you already acquired a first degree. Whatsoever reason you present on your SOP will be unreasonable to them and will immediately conclude that you're not a bona-fide applicant that will leave Canada, even people with strong academic progression are still battling to be approved of their visas, talk more of a person that already has a degree and going for a second degree in Canada. What will be the person fate? My advice!!!.....Don't put your application at risk. Google more, you might find a course that is directly related to your previous studies for a PGD. All the best! 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by jnyuwa02: 7:19am On Apr 15, 2018 |
Frankrobbn1: They don't believe anything on your SOP except it is backed with sufficient evidence. You will only be preaching to the dead. All your explanations have to be convincing beyond the reasonable doubt. Personally never seen anyone going for a second first degree approved. Ps: However bleak I have painted the chances of success, I can actually see someone who is going for a second first degree winning a visa. A situation where you studied something you didn't like, but want to go for something else tangible based on working experience. For example someone who studied fine arts and came out and landed a job with an environmental firm and became passionate in that field and wants to study more in that area. Going for graduate school directly wont be feasible in that case and doing a first degree and acquiring the necessary prerequisite, would be the only way to go. A second degree doesn't mean you will spend another four years. You spend only two years to get a second first degree and proceed to graduate school in the area of your new found interest. |

Ratawu:Ratawu, Lol! Sorry to hear you passed through this during your visa application submission. The VFS official that instructed you to get the old IMM5654E might not be aware of the changes. As this new form was updated not long ago. Also, why I argued your post was that i know of 3-4 applicants that submitted their application recently alongside with the new IMM5707E but were not asked to go back and get the old form. To the above bolded word... I'm not lambasting at you Sir/Ma, but the way you commented previously that "Do I want the applicant to waste his/her money at the time of their application submission really kept me wondering why you said this and you kept on saying that the new IMM5707E form is wrong also made me to quote your moniker the second time". You should have come clean at the first instance and make it out spoken that you went through a traumatic stress at the VFS office not by telling me that experience is the best teacher and its a wrong form, while others has submitted their application freely without asking them to go back. Lastly, I don't know it all as you thought I do. I am open and I learn everyday, I am also far/not close of being a perfect person. This is faceless forum, each and everyone of us here is free to contribute their quota for the betterment of the forum, there are no persons that their specialty is to help people here. So, don't misunderstand this fact okay. Shalom! 1 Like |
