The pre-colonial maps which I posted show onitcha as being part of Benin Kingdom.
You claim to have a superior intelligence, yet you haven't proven any of your claims.
Intelligent people don't need to lie to make a point and telling the truth can only be guaranteed by proof which intelligent people can always produce.

I understand your inferiority complex which is due to your lack of historical relevancy, but you should try and rather speak the truth rather than throwing venimous lies born from great jealousy.
I just don't understand why you guys in nigeria actually believe in fighting against the truth.
The Obi of Onitcha carry's the Edo sword by the way.

OMANBALA1:

First of you should be grossly ashamed of yourself if indeed you are Igbo because you dont know a danm thing about Igbo history neither the one of the Bini people. I dont want to delve into who Bini influenced because it will turn to a mockery in this thread. Let me just say that the exaggeration of Bini Kingdom is not just shocking but pathetic and miserable.

Since you want to go there with me lets get it on...The influence Bini has on Onitsha is not up to 1% of Onicha culture...Other than the monarchy system Onicha probably borrowed from them and few titles like Iyasele, Osodi and very minor others what else? Onicha culture is 99% Omanbala influenced starting from ancient practices like masqurades, chants, title systems like Nze na Ozo, Nze na Ozo noble dance like ufie, egwu ota the Obi dances during Ofala, ancient shrines like Ogwugwu Omena the one Afam Ogbotobo sings about. Igba Odu /Ivory title an Omanbala cultural item. You are shamelessly ignorant and unintelligent ,my nigga. I hate talking to inferiors!

And what attire are you talking about ? Your Bini people just started wearing Nze na Ozo red hat introduced by Aguleri chiefs in the 18th century. You nobi only Igbo ,you be Eze Nri! Obi of Onicha never dressed anything like Oba of Bini, meanwhile your Oba and his chiefs copied cassocks introduced by the Portuguesse Rev. Farthers when they arrived during exploration. Dont let me tell you who is your true father, akali ogoli! Defensive for what? Your want me to shut up so you can insult my race.

Osita short for Ositadimma means it shall be well with you going forward. Olisadebe means may God preserve. Morka, Modu ,Mordi all has something in common ,muo a guiding spirit. Anioma people have a beautiful and strong culture and there are some names indigenous to them ,Ogude is one. Odiah is a typical Igbo name. Look, you cant just jump in here making unfounded claims with your neo-edonization and think you wont be kicked into gutter. Igbo man my left yansh! We see everything you are doing in your little closed facebook page. Bini wey no reach 20,000 in 17th century. Biafran war has dealt a disaster to the Igbo race! If not you will be cleaned out by little groups from Anioma!

I guess you just came back from your time travel, rest well kid.
I don't need to actually claim anything which I can't prove, I posted pre-colonial maps of Benin Kingdom.
It is a well known fact that Benin Kingdom fought against britain and gave it the hardest fight it witnessed in the region.
It is also a fact that Benin Kingdom was the super power of the region.
Go and hug a transformer if you don't like reality. Nobody can change the past.
I see you are in trolling mode, your inferiority complex and jealousy seems to have led you to this mental state. Try and calm down before you end up in psychiatric hospital.

jealous of what exactly? Onicha nor any Anioma town was at no time a part of Bini Kingdom, never. There is no proof of that is oral history nor traditions. The only place it exists is in your mind. Onicha copied Bini style monarchy ,shikena! And this is common in group in close proximity but you want to read something else out of it because you not contented in who you are. Heck, majority of Anioma towns didnt even practice monarchy but you wont know this because Bini kingdom is too far up your rectum .

It seems more and more obvious that this kid doesn't know the first thing about military strategy.
If most bantu-nigerians are like this kid then I guess it explains why the bantu-nigerians are not known for actually winning any war ever.
Guys, do you remember when Julius Cezar was scared in Gaul, so scared that he built two walls to seperate his troops from the ennemy.

Julius was so scared that he defeated a force 3 times his own force.

Historically, the Benin kingdom was actually very powerful. Some of the narrations about it are actually quite outstanding. At the height of its prowess, it was a mighty empire.

That said, cultures influence each other, it is part of life. Do you know there are so many words in the English language that are derived from other languages?

Do you know that several spanish words are borrowed from Arabic?

It is a normal part of life.. I am certain that some of benin culture was also influenced by neighbouring cultures. Our languages and civilizations are closer than you'd imagine.

There is no need to start debate over things that happened more than 500 years ago.

Not to spoil your fun but Bini Kingdom was great but ''mighty'' is subjective. I dont have problem with people identifying with their chiefdoms but honestly you guys are overhyping your village kingdom. And thats what it is, a little village with a chief magnified into a king and Bini didnt conquer any Igbo town...Its on record! You can salivate over your culture without involving the Igbo nation, thats my only concern. Historically ,Anioma has always spoken Igbo and practiced Igbo culture and worshiped Alusi ,the Igbo oracle . Yes ,there were some influences westward but it doesnt translate into subjugation.

Where in that video did Obi of Onicha say Onicha was once under the rule of Oba of Bini ? Obi Achebe ,the Agbogidi Onicha Ado is a well read and classy noble man who not only took the Nze na Ozo, conferred his son and became Ugonabo and also joined the prestigious Agbalanze noble class in Onicha and later became the Obi of Onicha. Oba Bini is not the only ruler he mentioned he also mentioned Igwe Umuoji and Sunewe of Ondo, Oba of Bini is not better than any traditional ruler in Nigeria. See, i am not from benin and i do not care about the crown. I do however love to read history.

No culture is isolated. History is dynamic. Cities have been captured, lost and some have totally disappeared. You can not say objectively that none of the historically igbo areas were involved in these dynamics. Having a city maintain its language or culture does not mean anything because leadership was not always expressed as direct rule.

The truth is that our knowledge is limited because history was not preserved well enough.

The most important thing is that the guy has Nigerian roots and could have an international career with Nigeria.

Thank you my man for this great observation.

Truly not good for the thread but some have exposed themselves as real tribal fellows.

If some can go haywire and turned what should be a great historical discourse into Edo vs Igbo then this country is sick.

Have u seen any player argue a setpiece with him in the gwg jersey?
Ain't that telling u something he is been appointed to deliver them..
Has his delivering been so poor for u to be hating like this?
You just don't get tired do u? undecided

your problem is you think every disapproval of his actions in GwG is hating....
why should I hate him...?
if rohr really approves of it....it goes to tell ..the coach still hasn't learnt his lessons... I pity him...because there will always be matches where well delivered free kicks gonna be decisive.

only a clueless coach wil not entrust players like nancho to play some of the free kicks after his awesome play against Argentina....and for a player like Moses Simon who sometimes plays that for his club....
I am a Chelsea fan but sentiments aside Moses is not good wit delivery of free kicks

I hope the history debate is over. There are more befitting sections on nairaland for such.

The most important thing is that the guy has Nigerian roots and could have an international career with Nigeria.

Thank you.I think we should stop saying a player is from particular part of the country, for God sake why saying a player is from Okija, what is our business with that, how many players do we know their states of origin talk less of villages.
