Martz101:

My friend calm down, you dont need such hate speech and insult, now to the festival our "Ofala" was influenced by the IGUA festival, you can investigate on that in your spare time.

for the kingship system, the western Igbo practice very similar one with the benin people, where royal family are recognised, I'm sure you've had about the saying "igbo ewe eze" it means igbo dont have kings but it only apply To the heartland igbo area which include the imo, abia and some part of ebonyi.

You tried translating the names I listed which even made you look more confused OLISAdebe you said means God preserve but you forgot to tell us that OLISA is a benin word for God, we all know what igbo call God, and in imo or abia that name should be CHIdebe or CHUKWUdebe.

Bros onitsha was not the only region greatly influence by the great benin empire, present day rivers, delta, bayelsa, ondo, ekiti and even lagos was influence too.

So lets stop derailing this thread, but if you really wanna talk more about it, we could continue probably via WhatsApp

Igbo enwe Eze doesnt literally mean Igbos have no king, its figurative. For instance, your Oba has the final say in your village and nobody can contest what he says but the Igbo has a well developed chieftaincy institution that is very powerful like Agbalanze, Nze na Ozo and Ndi ichie...We will question our kings if need be. Again you have no sensible proof to your Olisa claim ...You debate like a little kid, everything is hearsay...lol. I bet you thought its gonna be a walk in the park...no so fast

Not to spoil your fun but Bini Kingdom was great but ''mighty'' is subjective. I dont have problem with people identifying with their chiefdoms but honestly you guys are overhyping your village kingdom. And thats what it is, a little village with a chief magnified into a king and Bini didnt conquer any Igbo town...Its on record! You can salivate over your culture without involving the Igbo nation, thats my only concern. Historically ,Anioma has always spoken Igbo and practiced Igbo culture and worshiped Alusi ,the Igbo oracle . Yes ,there were some influences westward but it doesnt translate into subjugation.
@the bolded. I think the keyword used by Martz101 is 'influence'. I do not understand how within the immediate context of the word used by him, it is now being read as 'conquer'

There is an ulterior motive behind that claim. A lot of internet wars has been fought because people are telling what Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie called DANGERS OF SINGLE STORY. I hate talking about tribal stuff here but there is need for me to alert everybody of the motive behind what these guys are pushing before it becomes the only truth. I never said western Igbos didnt borrow anything but we need to clarify things before your land suddenly becomes mine. Yoruba call stone okuta, Igbo call it okwute, they call water omi,we call it nmili, their amen is ase, Igbo is isee but none of these group can claim ownership of these words because its understood they are shared.

Now ,compare that to my Bini friends who think everything originates from them...Its so irritating. The Igala and Idoma use the Igbo days of the week and we equally borrowed from Igala ...For instance the use of the phrase Agaba Iduu has Igala origin and we equally has alot of Igala migrants in Anambra. We have good relationship with Igala people and they speak good Omanbala dialect. But when people start making sttupid claims you handle them like sttupid people. Most of these Bini people are heavily ignorant but they dont want to learn...People are throwing a hypothetical map around without any major landmarks to back it up.

The Igbo race is probably the most diverse ethnic group in Nigeria and an ancient Igbo adage gives credence to that....Igbo na asu na onu mana akwaa ukwala obulu ofu. Enugu and Ebonyi area call God Obasi and Anambra Olisa but somebody is somewhere claiming they introduced Olisa and has no proof of that....Such person is senseless. They claim Obi of Onicha dresses like Oba of Bini but no proof, you ruled over Onicha but no proof and even Onicha people have no memory of that. Show us your proof other than your fake made up territory in a map.
I appreciate your angle. In all I like such discussions if only we can can do it in truth and fairness without insulting each other. I take pride in all. I read Chinua Achebe avidly as a child and I imbued some igbotic elements therefrom. We can be enlightened by you based on what you know, disagreements can also be done in fairness.

I am not comfortable with the way European coaches change our players position[though not only ours ooo that Bolivian at Man U], Mourinho 'killed' Michael[Mikel] Obi,a potent attacking midfielder,Gbenga Okunowo,a solid midfielder was turned into a defender at Barcalona by Van Gaal, now, that coach at Gent has turned Ndidi into a defensive midfielder while the guy is a superb central defender

You see ,I am a strong proponent of one Nigeria and I see good and equally some bad in every ethnic group in Nigeria and I believe we can make that country great if we can elect a good leader who will understand the ethnic diversity of the country and find a way to make us all come together and work toward similar goals. I see you have decided to use your macof name.
It would be nice if you would stope lying for once, I used the name historyworld031 and I never claimed to be a medecin student.
You erronously made that claim. I laughed at your expense for a while until I corrected you. I am a mathematician and my student days have been over for some time now.
The simple fact that you are quoting (with "macof" handle) a comment of mine in which I am outing your alternate handle without mentioning "macof" is a proof of how right I am. Why don't you just use your real identity and stop claiming different ethnicities.

Baba I'm not for Ezenwa, Akpeyi and Uzoho again ooo. If we take them to the WC, I will watch the matches with the mindset that there's no gk between the sticks.

I'm all for recalling Aiyenugba and Ejide. Not one of them oo, the two of them.

What logical statement has he actually made ?
You give him proof more than 7 times and he keeps claiming there is no proof.
Himself he proves none of his claims, instead of proving his claims, he just throws insults.
WHat is there to respect in him, he is a troll who keeps claiming different ethnicities while insultin Edo.

Sir are you reffering to VICTOR MOSES or who

Pls forget it Victor is the real man in eagles though he can be erratic sometimes.

Sir,Samuel Kalu to compete with Moses?pls moses deserves more respect.

I never belittle him....
you and many others here have always emphasised the need for competition in the super eagles.....
Moses inability to release the ball on time can always undermine our counter attacking progress....
I am a fan of him...but when it is obvious he is at a miss road.... better one expose his flaws just same way we praise his strength....

kalu presence in that team gonna add more competition to the team....no one knows what that lad gonna turn to be tomoro.
from experience I have come to see we can sometimes do without Moses but definetely not mikel.....

Moses is a player that have got potentials that could put him on world class if we'll judiciously managed.... good runs and ball control...if only he could work on his set piece and learn release the ball when necessary and a little bit selfless......

please bro..it's enough let's drop this debate...
it is turning something else and derailing the thread...
I am bini by tribe...and all through my upbringing I have read books some way back in school others through folktales on how mighty the Benin empire was back in the old days...and the conquering of kingdoms and lots more...

but of a truth i believe every tribe in nigeria definetely have same stories that paint them in supremacy..... no one can tell the true story....
so let's leave this story....every ethnic groups will always believe to be the supreme including we the binis....
so let's respect and appreciate each other differences....
good to have such large numbers culminate into one country.....

good afternoon...and how are you doing today?

My mistake, I did say this: "This guy (omanbala1) is clearly the same person as that idiot calling himself macof. He speaks the same way, with the same words.
He (omanbala1) keeps changeing names and claiming different ethnicities while repeating the same venom against Edo.
This troll (omanbala1) needs to be ignored."

I just forgot the word "macof" was on it. Nice of you to use the opportunity to claim I am a liar and that you are "exposing me again".
Very opportunistic of you. I actually recognize when I am wrong, and that comment did have macof on it.
Although it is telling that rather than claim you were not the new handle, you threw in insults on the behest of the alternate handle.
Apart from that, you made the msitake of using the same nomenclature in your alternate handle and also you make the same logics mistakes in your new handle. Why pretend when you have been outed. Have some honnesty and stop lying. Now show me when I claimed being a medical student or a student at all.
