I don't agree that Nigerian youth are lazy, rather the elites, and leaders(Govt.) are the ones that are lazy. How do you explain it when a president was voted to change the old of doing, but he rather keep blaming the past administration for his laziness.

Some of us know you simply choose to be mischievious.

Did he say ALL youth of Nigeria are lazy?

Besides semantics, I put it to you, the Nigerian youth do not display enough creativity.

How much research, patents, world class artistic work would you find in our institutions?
Let me guess..that's government's fault.

Ok let's go to the number of our young people who have access to the internet. How many are involved in programming, animation, international research syndicates?

Let me guess...that's the government's fault.

Here on Nairaland, start a topic with a misleading headline and wait to find how many would spot the disconnect between the headline and the body of the message.

Let me guess... it's the government's fault.

The youth of Nigeria are lacking in creativity and please don't give me Nollywood and Afro music. It can take only a few entrants.

We need people who want to create and constantly think of solutions.

We need people who channel their energy positively and not in cult activities, Yahoo or drug use.

Talking about drugs, this poor nation is experiencing a new wave of drug abuse...tramadol, codeine, skunk etc.
That's what the nation is about.

Many Nigerians are of the misconception that the country is rich but the reality is that we aren't.

Yes we have the potential to be wealthy, but we are a poor nation in every way, shape or form.

It is your choice to accept the criticism.

You can go renegade and discount it.

Nigerian youths are not lazy and we always strive for excellence wherever we are. Our parents still think we owe them for raising us. Nigerian students are excelling academically in other countries but the story is different in Nigeria. And those that think the government don't owe them needs to rethink the subject. The government has a right to provide social welfare to its citizens and providing quality and standard education is one of their responsibilities too. I graduated from a state university back in 2004 and I paid #4000 in school fees in my final year. There is a deliberate plan to make public schools graduates invalid, this has worked well with primary and secondary school and I never enrolled in a private school. So, my brother, you are wrong to think that the Nigeria youth is lazy.

but I don't blame you though, you had everything handed to you, so we don't expect you to see through the nonsense your president said

I can make the statements I do here because i chose a different path.

If you want, I can massage your ego and proclaim the Nigerian youth the most creative, most entrepreneurial, most honest across the entire universe.

Send that lazy youth outside the country, and watch him do wonders! Your almighty prophet buhari just have a way of blaming everyone and everything else, except himself. Do you know the difference between "most" and "some"? your almighty prophet buhari used " most", implying that over half of its youth populate is jobless? do you think that allegation just stops at semantics? If what is said is the truth, don't you think Nigeria would have gone in blazes? Even if it is a fact that the average nigerian is lazy,he does not necessarily wait on the govt except the few touts they employ to do their dirty work,e.g, sarrki, omenkalive, madriguy, e.t.c. so how do you rationalise a country that a single minister uses over 100million naira to cut mere grass? that 100 million naira would empower 100 youths with if share among(with a share of 1million naira, sarrki will not be enticed to do BMC work). do you know the wonders some youths can with 1million naira? Almighty prophet Buhari allegedly did not account for a whopping 2billion naira ptf monies in his care; do you know that 2 thousand Nigerian youths could have been empowered with one million naira each? Should we talk about the $16 billion OBJ allegedly misused that was meant for power? do you know the impact that money could have had on the youths if it were judiciously used? What about Jonathan, the Ekweremandus, the dasukis, the patience, and all the corrupt criminals we have had-do u know what those monies could have done for the populace? #Bleep almighty prophet Buhari for insulting my intelligence! And Bleep you for being the useful illiterate!

We have 180 million Nigerians .

We produce at peak production 2.5 million barrels of oil daily. Multiply by 100 dollars (which it never is) means we make 250 million dollars daily . You must split that with your Joint venture partners . You probably keep 180 million dollars.
