Do you know how underpaid we are in this country?
Do u know the challenges it takes for one to survive in this country?
Do u know in maslows heirachy of needs we are still trying to get basic needs?
How can I get creative when I'm still busy trying to get what to eat, to pay for basic health care which is not even basic.
Just how can u agree with a man that says 60% of u are lazy and illiterate, how can u?
U might be one of the privileged few to enjoy the best the nation has to offer, but make no mistake alot of youth are suffering.
My brother in as much as this country has been made difficult by baba, I refuse to take this international insult from him.

No talk say I give you assignment. Please provide the quote dissecting each line so we know where exactly he said 60% of the youth are lazy.

That's the problem, the lack of creativity, why should a masters degree holder, MSC holder be doing security job when he was sent to school to be creative and create things in his or her environment? Oh no, it's the govt!.

Why end up doing what doesn't require formal education after spending 10-12 years in school? what then did the school do to your intellectual growth? oh no, it's the govt.

An educated person is the one who does things different from the way uneducated ones do.

Thank God you never experienced it.

whatever the governments both past and present have done were allowed by the youth who form the major parts of the population. the youth should take responsibility and take back the country by carefully [b]selecting those with track records among them to lead. i am not talking bout noise makers, i am talking about those who started things on their own with no corrupt background and see if this country won't move forward.

Nice point, but do we have youths that can fill this positions?

Its actually in harsh environments our creative ability is put to test, most of what we enjoy on earth now came in the era of nothing, and alot of innovations came from the era of wars. creativity hardly strive in comfort.
And how did your govt harnessed the creativity of the biafrans ingenuity in the war? A sensible govt could have asked questions on how biafrans did it? every now and then Nigerians are doing marvelous things that need support, but aren't. The Anthony Joshua's of our time is making great exploits as a result of the comfortable environment he grew up in. Victor Moses would have likely perished if he had stayed in Nigeria after his parents deaths - but a comfortable environment did it for him. You don't realise that out of every 10 successful persons that made it despite the harsh conditions of the country,90 perished as a result;which is not necessarily their fault. All we are asking for is the level playing ground, that the basic amenities required of any sane govt are provided for the people: that way we can identify those who are truly lazy. Abolish quota system so that we can identify the lazy people; restructure this country to regionalism so that we can identify the lazy regions; provide 24hrs light so that we can identify the lazy persons;fund and upgrade our educational institutions so that we can identify the lazy ones...

Yes, because the youth allowed this. go and check all the striving nations on earth, the youth made them so.

What can old men do without the support of young and vibrant youths? so if Nigeria is backward, check the youth, it's caused by docile youths.

Buhari is few years to his grace and have little or nothing to gain on earth again, he's saying things the way they are, if you like, don't stand up and have things changed for the best.

Was Nnandi kanu not a youth, who protested against the evil in the country? what did youths like you do? you antagonised him? Even you who is talking is no different by supporting Buhari's statement. Buhari is bereft of ideas to manage human beings to bring out the best in them. Simple.

Did he say ALL youth of Nigeria are lazy?

Besides semantics, I put it to you, the Nigerian youth do not display enough creativity.

How much research, patents, world class artistic work would you find in our institutions?
Let me guess..that's government's fault.

Ok let's go to the number of our young people who have access to the internet. How many are involved in programming, animation, international research syndicates?

Let me guess...that's the government's fault.

Here on Nairaland, start a topic with a misleading headline and wait to find how many would spot the disconnect between the headline and the body of the message.

Let me guess... it's the government's fault.

The youth of Nigeria are lacking in creativity and please don't give me Nollywood and Afro music. It can take only a few entrants.

We need people who want to create and constantly think of solutions.

We need people who channel their energy positively and not in cult activities, Yahoo or drug use.

Talking about drugs, this poor nation is experiencing a new wave of drug abuse...tramadol, codeine, skunk etc.
That's what the nation is about.

Many Nigerians are of the misconception that the country is rich but the reality is that we aren't.

Yes we have the potential to be wealthy, but we are a poor nation in every way, shape or form.

It is your choice to accept the criticism.

You can go renegade and discount it.

These folks don't know how to manage the human resources. I,for one,is not motivated by hard times, especially avoidable ones created by humans because i easily become depressed by it. let me tell u something..I wouldn't have been this literate if not for my mum because i was the dullest in class(a public school). But,fortunately for me,my mum changed school for me and i started attending a small private school which was able to manage my case. I was a hard case to handle, really! After then i was able to read and write easily! If i had continued in that underfunded public school,i would have ended like most of my colleagues; but the new level playing ground brought out the best in me. And this is the reality in the country, most talents of Nigerians are lying fallow because of the bad system which buhari is upholding. All the prevalence of crime, drug abuse all that shit, are symptoms of a failed system and leadership!

The people that are lazy in Nigeria are the politicians. They are the ones that wait for oil money. Instead of your president to think what to do during recession, he was wasting our money to look for oil in North. Lazy president. Take note our youth are the most hardworking people in the world. No youth from america.and Europe can survive this harsh environment., they will commit suicide.

I have probably been to over 21 countries. So telling me to go abroad to see how things function is misguided.

I have studied the Nigerian character and I mean the typical, we are averse to truth.

Yes, many have a daring spirit but much more think the nation is wealthy and they have been shortchanged down the wealth chain.

Truly, they have been shortchanged but they have not been given their aliquot share of the little.

Presently, the man you love to hate is the one doing everything to change the narrative but deep down their is a prejudice that many of you have such that any suggestion he makes is followed by resistance.

Funny it is the likes of Fayose and Atiku that you look up to.

It takes 2 to tango.

The environment is hostile because the people are hostile. This includes the youth.

Nigerians love to extricate themselves from all the ills of their society.

If Nigeria is bad and it is not you giving or receiving bribe, it is not you involved in exam malpractice, it is not you who is involved in Yahoo or prostitution or drug abuse, then tell me who is?
I have read your previous write up and I ignored reacting given that you were making sense but these have made me see truly how shallow you are. imagine what you said "environment is hostile because the youths are hostile ". Now look at ogoni land how can these supposed inhabitants being youths survive? and you want them not to be hostile when their life is threatened?. look boy if people like buhari ever had a small factory since his days as youth the prostitution and crime will reduce. you have a business struggling to hold ground then government task forces come by bordering you and after paying one another comes. no electricity, no good roads no pipe borne water but we pay tax, how can your business survive given that you will provide all these amenities yourself. or is it the fault of the youth that there are no quality schools, good functioning hospitals, poor security? is it the youths fault that there is no electricity or good roaf, pipe born water. is it the youths fault that businesses started in Nigeria fail because the business climate in Nigeria is too harsh for start ups? your President it a fool and most lazy of all elite in Nigeria.

Yes some are engaged in Internet Fraud - Yahoo Yahoo

But a majority are trying to make ends meet. We went to school in an already broken Educational system, but we still do TDB's because we want a better life.

How many youths write Jamb every year, how many of them even get addmission?

must they go to school

How many youths graduate every year? How many of them pass out of NYSC every year?

looking for oil money jobs

I am a Nigerian youth, and I'm working my ass off to make a better life for myself.....

where do you work(i can bet its in oil money job)

Go out of the country, and see how Nigerian youths are excelling--Why? duh, because the Country where they reside is organised.

Nigerian Youths are the brightest and most hardworking any day anytime..........

they are not bright if the cannot fix their country
they are desperate not hardworking

in the eyes of the world
as usual you will make mouth online but too lazy to go out and vote and defend the vote
