I've heard from many Nigerians that Aliko Dangote is a beneficiary of Nigerian prebendalism and was and is very connected amongst Nigeria's corrupt political class. Whenever Dangote tries to invest outside Nigeria - especially outside West Africa, he faces a situation where he's just like any other businessman with no connection advantage at best or where it's his business rivals who are connected at worst. This is the reason he's always complaining about other African nations being corrupt whenever he tries to invest outside Nigeria. He complained about Tanzania, Ethiopia and now Kenya. That's reality hitting him hard - sometimes you're so used to corruption working in your favor it's hard to comprehend fair competition or corruption working against you.

Nope.It coz kenyans are amongst Africa most-educated & savvy people.That is why Kenya is Africa most developed NON-MINERAL economy for long time. Kenyans don't depend on extractive industries - like gold or diamond or oil - but on their hard-work and ingenuity. Therefore there is very little some of these countries can tell us. Joburg has tonnes of gold. Nigeria is swimming in Oil. Luanda is also a sea of oil. Ghana has gold and oil now. What can they tell us...remove their extractive sectors and they are nothing.
