You see the mental laziness we're talking about?

Upon your advanced age and your so called educated status, you still don't know it's called Rolls-Royce.

Something a simple Google search would have done for you and save you from this national embarrassment.

Lol. I was about to say this exact same thing....but I decided to waka pass. They won’t read. They won’t improve themselves. They just want to hammer! Lazy bums.

I was with you and your position till you decided to engage that nitwit.

This is a nitwit who decided to defend RCCG with the dullest excuse about land belonging to RCCG.

Please no harm meant but I think you won't get anywhere jaw-jacking with that fellow.

Please stick to your position. You have very valid points. Please learn to avoid people who won't use metrics and facts to argue, instead base their positions on sentiments. If Nigerian youths were as creative as some of these people say they are, we would obviously see a huge difference.

Please you are to smart to get involved with lazy people like the guy you are engaging.

Sir, you seems to be mixing things up just to justify your paymaster, anyway ta ni eleshishin o ba gbe leyin. You can check my post and you will realise that I was a pro Buhari until baba began to sing a different song contrary to the one he was singing before election.

There is no gain lying to ourselves, baba has tried his best but I think there are better young passionate Nigerians who can deliver us rather than sticking old men of analogue ideas in the digital world.

As most people have professed there is no country in the world where the youth don't engaged in social vices and Nigeria is not an exception. The only difference between Nigeria and developed Nations is that while the latter create a just and egalitarian societies that support hardworking men rather support the former support nepotism, Godfatherism and other anti-development vices.

YES. Nigerian youths are lazy.
They are also used to being told they are lazy which is a surprise that Buhari's words said in a certain context is generating furore. Every student in school, young worker in the office and apprenticeship intern is being told this same thing everyday.

In northern Nigeria, there is 60% unemployment and a growing drug epidemic. Maybe some people like politicians who tell lies but if you want a President who lies maybe they should vote for Atiku.
In other words you're lazy

Please I do not appreciate your insults. I didn't address you in the first place so I don't understand why I have to have a "paymaster" simply because I don't agree with you.
You do not know me in any way, shape or form, yet you are forming keyboard intellectual and internet warrior. I don't care about your so-called political stance, because it does nothing for me. Focus on the topic and hand and stop beating about the bush with inanities.

The Nigerian youth is morally, ethically and intellectually bankrupt. Your argument reeks of my position. You don't know anything about me but you have gone to town that I must belong to a paylist of praise singers. It is your type that thinks that you can do better than what we have.

Old people you say?
Please go through history, past and present, and tell us how many "old" people are presently at the helm of world affairs:
At the drop of a hat:

Malcolm Turnbull (Prime Minister of Australia)-63 years
Theresa May (Prime Minister of Britain)- 61 years
Angela Merkel (Chancellor of Germany)-63 years
Mariano Rajoy Brey (Prime Minister of Spain)-63 years
Donald Trump -71 years.

These are the present day world leaders who I didn't have to check the internet for.

At least according to you, these people in "sane climes" cannot be said to be youths, yet they are at the helm of affairs in these countries. If I did a lot more research, I would find more compelling cases to shut your nonsense logic about age and leadership.

If you don't have anything tangible to say to me, please face your front, and don't quote me. It's too early to be engaging foolish people in foolish talk this morning.

Some of us know you simply choose to be mischievious.

Did he say ALL youth of Nigeria are lazy?

Besides semantics, I put it to you, the Nigerian youth do not display enough creativity.

How much research, patents, world class artistic work would you find in our institutions?
Let me guess..that's government's fault.

Ok let's go to the number of our young people who have access to the internet. How many are involved in programming, animation, international research syndicates?

Let me guess...that's the government's fault.

Here on Nairaland, start a topic with a misleading headline and wait to find how many would spot the disconnect between the headline and the body of the message.

Let me guess... it's the government's fault.

The youth of Nigeria are lacking in creativity and please don't give me Nollywood and Afro music. It can take only a few entrants.

We need people who want to create and constantly think of solutions.

We need people who channel their energy positively and not in cult activities, Yahoo or drug use.

Talking about drugs, this poor nation is experiencing a new wave of drug abuse...tramadol, codeine, skunk etc.
That's what the nation is about.

Many Nigerians are of the misconception that the country is rich but the reality is that we aren't.

Yes we have the potential to be wealthy, but we are a poor nation in every way, shape or form.

It is your choice to accept the criticism.

You can go renegade and discount it.
It is your life, your future. Play it as you wish.
so you're blind enough to see creativity expressed in intangible ways by the Nigerian youths? Some hawkers take time to arrange their groundnuts into a pyramid before carying it on their head. Have you seen the dynamics and complexity of washing a car in traffic in order to make ends meet? In what other way do you want creativity expressed with so little government support? Perhaps you're one of those lazy, fat youths that got every comfort necessary for life from the government on a platter of Gold

Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity is characterised by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions.
Arranging groundnuts into pyramids rather than selling it conventionally is making connections. Washing cars in traffic is generating a solution.Besides, I used these as everyday examples. Can your ants sing songs that gets worldwide recognition in native languages? Next time, think, then type.

I watch in dismay as one Hausa guy was suffering and sweating it out on a river, probably fishing, he was lying face down on a big calabash, using his two legs as a paddle to move around on the river.
I saw this at Argungu on my way to Birnin Kebbi, I first thought the guy was mad, the residents of the area said thats how it's done in that area, why not a canoe and a paddle?.

Another daft post.

But coming from someone who thinks Liberia is part of the "sane" world, there is no need to respond. You obviously are too slow to get the drift of the argument.

It is a waste to try to make a case to someone who believes that when you build on RCCG land and leave thereafter, you should carry your house and go and leave the land.

I think you should apply the above to yourself.

If you think RCCG is being honest by encouraging people to build on their land and asking them to leave the land when they leave the church, then I have nothing but utter sympathy.

I just had to put that out there to remind you that I do not indulge simpletons. You are already establishing a pattern by claiming Liberia is a "sane clime" after telling us that you should build on a land that ultimately won't belong to you.
So I think it is your integrity that needs to be checked because you are not being honest in your assertion.

So after typing all that, the only workable example you gave was singing song? Lol so that's the only creative or innovative stuff the Nigerian youths can do? Apart from comedy and singing. What else? We already have all these in abundance elsewhere in the world and this won't take you up the ladder of innovation and creativity. Where are we on the ladder of innovation/creativity world wide?

There's not time during the PMB interview where he stated that Nigerian youths are lazy. What he said that should be commended, is that Shell is investing $15bn in Nigeria.

There's so much misinformation in the social space and we should endeavor to dig deep before commenting on issues, otherwise the fake news on comments by the President about the youths being lazy will be considered to be true.
