I am having mixed feelings about his departure even though it was inevitable. I have been a fan of this great club for over 2 decades and I have witnessed dominant seasons under Wenger on and off the field. Titles (INVINCIBLES), increased sponsorship, revenue, fan-across the globe, the building of a wonderful stadium. However, over the past 7 years, the club has struggled to adapt to the changes that have occurred in world and club football and our position on the log buttresses it.

If there is a word that aptly defines being stubborn, it has to be Wenger as he is set in his ways and nothing will ever change that. He desperately wanted to prove a point about his philosophy regarding style of play and wanted to accomplish it by not spending. He did not fail to express his displeasure at the skyrocketing cost of players in modern football.

I knew Wenger was leaving when the club started speaking of a new club director and head of recruitment. It was apparent that a financial loss would occur if Wenger remained as fans became indifferent and divided. I desperately hope we get it right with his replacement as I do not want to see any British coach in our dugout.

Thank you Arsene Wenger for the memories, they are just too many to count. You had the eyes in spotting raw talent and when you get them, you develop them into world beaters. You define Arsenal and I hope we don't lose the philosophy of playing great football and winning. I woud definitely show support and loyalty to Wenger, irrespective of what he decides to do.

That being said, I am happy and excited about the new phase, the opportunities and possibilities. We need to get back into competing and not merely appearing in competitions. We need to start fielding a team opponents are scared of going into battle against. I want a coach who would make the players ACCOUNTABLE for their actions and players with a sense of LEADERSHIP on and off the field.
