If you are an economist here, let us know your comment about what the minister said. People that don't understand what she is talking about and the implications should keep quiet instead of praising or condemning what they don't know.
Like president, like minister.... clueless monkeys everywhere "As at May 29, 2007, Obasanjo left a Nigeria with external debt of almost zero. Our total debt was $3.348 billion, which included debts incured by the 36 states of the federation"...

initially i had my doubts about the minister's competence... especially in fiscal policy implementation.... but based on how they managed to stir us from recession to growth in a relatively short time (Venezuela and Russia still in the doldrums) i am inclined to be less critical..
I can deduce from comments on this forum that those who hate Buhari do it out emotion Not based on facts. The minister just made some points but we fail to see those points just because our emotions has beclouded our sense of reasoning. It's well.
Now Femi Adesina will come out and start calling us names because that's what he and his cohorts are good at - Someone can't criticize this yeye government again without getting a lash back loaded with insults and abuse from them.
So Mrs Finance minister, having said we don't need the help of father christmas ( world bank), how will Buhari's body language help us to effectively assess and pay back these trillions of naira we owe as debt? Doesn't she know that data from any Nigerian financial institution are more often than not unreliable and riddled with all sorts of fraud? Believe it or not, World bank will do a more excellent job at assessing our debt profile anytime any day.
I strongly believe that this so called finance minister doesn't understand a single thing about Nigerian economics or accounting, not to mention running the financial institution of a 3rd world country like ours.
This APC party and her leaders are a huge joke. #lazy&dullNigerianLeaders.
my main p with this woman is that sh took options A first; to cut back spending, lay off workers, in a hope to manage dwindling resources nd led the govt to refuse to borrow, thereby, killing countless nigerians, ruining biznesses, creating recession b4 sh changed to the obvious option of expansionary policies to improve aggregate demand and then increase growth...my take is sh should be held, responsible for the death of those that committed suicide and asked to leave..sh is an amateur!!!!!!
Some 38 million Africans are threatened by starvation this year from a food crisis that relief workers predict could last for generations because of AIDS.
Relief workers say the devastation from AIDS is combining with the effects of poverty, war, bad governance, corruption and erratic weather to cripple the ability of societies in sub Saharan Africa to recover from famine.
"The stark message is this crisis is not going to go away. We will have a perpetual crisis," said Brenda Barton, the World Food Program spokeswoman in Nairobi Kenya
"We are seeing a redefinition of famine, of humanitarian crisis as we know them," she said.
Within the United Nations the new definition is known as "new variant famine." It means that despite the best efforts of aids group and donors, population losses to AIDS are wrecking agriculture, economies and health systems. (CBS News)
Your Buhari is a drop out, why don't you try and appeal to us with Buhari's policies/achievements so far? you are still using the last election slogan 'MAN WHO MEANS WELL FOR NIGERIANS', we are woke bro, the only campaign that is being run by the people free of charge is sowore 2019, the rest have to receive a salary to sell out, keep sleeping

Issafela: While speaking with journalists at the ongoing Spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund. The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun has said Nigeria does not need the help of the World Bank in assessing its debts level.
“We don’t need the World Bank if they want to come and help us, great, but we don’t need them,” the minister said while emphasizing that Nigerians and the Debt Management Office (DMO), are all the FG needs in assessing the nation’s debt level.
She also said the Nigerian government had no other option than to borrow to bring the country out of recession.
The Minister said, “There were two options to end recession; one was cut back, lay people off and wait for oil prices to recover or be more aggressive, expand your budget, take on more debts and invest in infrastructure in hope that you will get growth going to develop more revenue.
We’ve expanded our budget, we pumped money into the economy, we made sure recession was not prolonged.
We are now back into growth, we need to accelerate that growth and focus on revenue mobilization which in turn will reduce our debt pressures. If we were still in recession, we’d have far bigger problems.
I think what people haven’t realized is how much work had to be done to make sure that that recession was as short as possible because that would have caused real pain for the people. We shortened it, we had to borrow to do so and we make no apologies for that.”
dodelight: Another gaffe! She will soon come out to deny it. She's obviously frustrated that the world bank is not buying into their kangaroo economic plans.
Then 'The Lord of Shit and Mess Clearing', Femi Adesina will come out to insult us again that we don't understand simple English...
#BuhariMustGo!

soberdrunk: AUNTY SPEAK FOR YOURSELF OOO!!! Dear World bank she doesn't speak for all of us!!!
Maybe she is speaking for “a lot of us” just like Buhari abused a lot of us by calling us uneducated, lazy people who are waiting for free oil money. Imagine the free loader who has been enjoying free government money since he started primary school to joining the army and getting one juicy position after another. He is a real shege barawo banza.
