oga.. an apology shows strength of character. Even if it were a guy who did it, it would have still been a rare thing especially considering the magnitude of the fight. This is someone whose LATE mom was abused. She deserves credit for that, and it is something we all can emulate.

Even with Onyekuru and his brilliant club performances last season, who has he benched in the SE? Maybe Isaac Success who was even never really considered as a serious candidate.

Onyekuru's chance of making the final 23 is even slim. So why would Rohr invite Kalu and Olayinka?

The thing is we don't need those players for now. If they were CFs now I would say they have a chance.

Let them keep playing and let's see if they can raise their club performances next season. The future is there's if they continue doing good.
Am not canvassing for their invitation cos i stated it that after WC even Oyekwuru,Kayode, were not given enough chance to impress or what of Agbo,so post WC gonna sweet for Nigeria football cos we have them in abundance.

Ighalo with 4 goals today. The scoring spirit that manifested today please I beg you to withhold your hand and make your self manifest against Croatia, against Iceland, against Argentina, against our opponent in the round of 16, against our opponent in the quarter finals, and against our opponent in the semifinals. After that you can withdraw your hand. Amen.....

it will only manifest if there is adequate supply to him

Okay Ighalo has silenced some of us saying we don't have good headers in the team. Not too long ago, Ogu also scored with a header. We've also seen Musa and Victor Moses make crosses for assists lately.. But what we are still asking for is stiffer competition. let the Olayinkas etc bring it to camp. By so doing, we will not only make the build up to Russia fierce in camp, but also be taking the first step to integrating the likes of Kalu for the future.

BascoVanVeli:
Ighalo was rated a perfect 10 by whoscored 4 shots and 4 goals. His goals were in the order of Pk, right foot, left foot and header.

Sir time is not too short cos Enyeama made 2002 WC a month or less to WC.Joel Obi came into the team just of recent and made the team.

As you said Rohr is very conservative in his approach but if he want better performance at WC need to give Dele and Ejide a chance cos our friendlies showed that Uzoho is not ready for WC.

CYRIEL DESSERS for World Cup

Sir, Thank you for the CYRIEL DESSERS shout out. We seem to forget that the Enyeama we hail today was a raw 19 year old in 2002. He replaced like shorunmu (shorunmu kept against Argentina and Sweden) against England and acquitted himself well. Saved a Beckham free kick join. All am saying is let's give Uzoho a chance. My drama director used to tell us that during Rehearsals we can mess up and forget our lines and cues, but when we get on stage and face a crowd, we will perform. CYRIEL DESSERS!!!!!? ABI NA CYRIL

Lokosa: I Can Help Solve Super Eagles’ Striker Problem
April 21, 2018 10:22 am

Kano Pillars forward, Junior Lokosa, has hit the ground running in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season, scoring 15 goals in 16 games.

In this interview with Completesportsnigeria.com’s (CSN) ADEBOYE AMOSU, the 24-year old speaks about his humble beginning and his desire to play for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia…

###CSN: Junior, there have been conflicting reports about your nationality, some say you are a Togolese. To some, you are a Beninoise, can you clear the air on this?

That’s a bit funny and interesting. Well, like you said, this is a big chance for me to clear the air on my nationality and set the record straight.
Junior Lokosa is a Nigerian, a Lagos boy from Badagry. I guess that settles the conflicting reports, like you said.

###You have no doubt made a name for yourself in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season, what has the journey been like?

It has been tough like most African kids who started playing football on the streets. Unlike some kids who never enjoyed the support of their parents, mine was different.
Myself and my young brother who currently plays for a club in Egypt – I can’t remember the name now, enjoyed the support of our parents and that gave us the confidence to push hard, determined to make it in the game.
I grew up in Ajegunle Lagos and you know what it means to live in that kind of vicinity. We see football as something that can give us a better life as it has happened to some people in the past.

###What has the journey been like for you, from playing for First Bank in the Nigeria National League then to becoming the number one striker for Kano Pillars?

I must confess it has been tough but the grace of God has kept me going. You know what it takes in this part of the world to become a footballer, lots of hardwork and luck.
But I have always believed in myself: that I could cut it at the highest level of the game. I joined Kano Pillars from First Bank during the second half of last season.
It was like moving to Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich for me.
The fans are passionate about the game and it is a beautiful place to play football.

###How were you able to settle down in the team especially with experienced strikers like Gambo Mohammed and Adamu Hassan ahead of you in the pecking order back then?

Last season was like a learning process for me. I must thank the older guys for helping me settle down in the team. Kano was quite different from Lagos in a lot of ways.
The weather can be very cold and at times extremely hot. But as I be Ajegunle Boy man must double up (long laughter).

I don’t see myself as a finished article yet and it is always important to stay humble and learn from the older and more experienced guys even though you are playing ahead of them.

###You have hit the ground running in the NPFL this season with 15 goals in 16 games. Was it your target at the beginning of the campaign or has it happened by providence?

As a striker , you live to score goals. Scoring goals gives you confidence. Scoring in consecutive games early in the season gave me the confidence to push for more.

###Do you see yourself breaking Mfon Udoh’s 23-goal mark all -time scoring record in one season in the NPFL?

It will be nice to do that, but that is not the most important thing on my mind at the moment. I want to be a Nigeria Professional Football League champion with Kano Pillars and I believe that is more important than chasing after an individual honour.

###You must have been receiving a lot of calls from agents trying to lure you to foreign clubs?

Sure, they have been bombarding my phone with calls, saying a lot of nice things to me. I’m happy at Pillars and I don’t want to rush things.
When the right time comes, I will move abroad, but for now my soul and heart is with Pillars.

Sometimes, I wonder where all these agents are when I was nobody. I have seen players do well in the league, rushed out of the country and later regretted their action. I don’t want to make the same mistake.

###Do you think you are good enough to play for the Super Eagles at the moment?

Bros you are funny o. One of the reasons why I’m playing football is because I want to wear that green and white of Naija(long laughter).
If I get the call to come and play for the team, I will gladly honour it. It will be a dream come true for me. Another AJ boy playing for the Super Eagles will be something else for people to read.

###There have been several calls for you to be included in the Super Eagles ahead of the World Cup…

(Cuts in) I can’t determine if I’m good enough to play for the Super Eagles or not. If the fans believe in my ability and see me as a good prospect, that’s fine.
But the biggest decision lies with the coaches. Irrespective of what you are doing at your club or what the fans are saying, they will not be the one to determine your fate.

###Do you see yourself solving the Super Eagles’ striker problem at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia if given the opportunity?

I have confidence in my ability and I believe I can do a good job for the team. There are other established strikers in the team at the moment but I believe I can help make the team stronger.

Musa: I’d Rather Stay At CSKA Moscow Than Return To Leicester

Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa is keen to stay at Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow either on loan or on permanent basis next summer, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Leicester City star, on loan at CSKA Moscow, maintained that he is likely to stay on in Russia where he gets more action rather than warm the bench at The Foxes.
“Go back to Leicester? I’m enjoying my game here and I’ve enjoyed more playing time here too. It’s better to stay here and play regularly than warm the bench,” Musa told CSN in a chat.

The former Kano Pillars winger was on target as CSKA forced Ufa to a 1-1 draw in the Russian Premier League on Sunday at the Stadion Neftyanik.
Sunday’s outing was the fifth in the league for Musa who made a loan switch from Leicester City to CSKA Moscow during the last transfer window.

The 25-year-old Nigeria international played for CSKA between 2012-2016 before he joined Leicester to bolster their squad for an ultimately failed defence of their fairytale Premier League triumph.
Before his transfer to Leicester City, Musa enjoyed a hugely profitable spell at CSKA, scoring 54 goals in 168 games and helping the club win three league titles as well as a Russian Cup and two Russian Super Cups.

Sadiq: I Turned Down Serie B Clubs To Join Breda
April 21, 2018 11:00 am

Nigerian striker, Umar Sadiq, has revealed why he turned down several teams from the Italian Serie B to join Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda in January, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Sadiq, 21, a loanee at Breda from Serie A side AS Roma, has scored five goals in 11 Eredivise games since he joined the West-Brabant club.

“I could have stayed in Italy and be loaned to clubs from the Serie B. I did not want to, there were several options on the table from different countries, but when my agent said I could go to NAC Breda, my decision was made. The league looked like a nice new challenge,” Sadiq told elfvoetbal.nl in an interview.

“It was good decision to take the step to play in another country last winter.
“I was given a guided tour (of facilities) at NAC Breda, they wanted to show me everything, very nice, but I immediately said ‘No, they do not have to, I want to play here. I do not care about the facilities.”
The former Torino player also remains confident that NAC Breda will avoid relegation at the end of the season with two games left to play.

NAC Breda are 15th in the 18 team Eredivisie league with 30 points from 32 games, three points above the relegation play-off spot.

Roda JC Kerkrade and Sparta Rotterdam occupy the two relegation play-off spot in 16th and 17th poisition. They are tied on the same points with Roda JC Kerkrade, but with a superior goal difference.
“Preferably, as soon as possible, I pray NAC belongs in the Eredivisie at the end of the season,” Sadiq told elfvoetbal.nl in an interview.

Sadiq has scored five goals in 11Dutch Eredivise games since he joined the West-Brabant club.
NAC Breda will host SC Heerenveen in their next game.

Nwakali: I Want To Play For Arsenal But Wenger Will Decide

MVV Maastricht midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, who is on loan from Arsenal, says he is in no position to determine his future but would be waiting on Arsene Wenger to give him a chance when pre-season gets underway in the summer, Completesportsnigeria.com can report
Former Golden Eaglets player Nwakali revealed that his biggest wish in the upcoming season would be to break into the star-studded Arsenal side in the summer, but he would have to wait on Wenger to decide his fate.
Nwakali further revealed that encouraging words from compatriot Alex Iwobi have given him the right mentality and belief that his Arsenal dream can come true, if he continues to work hard.
The Chile 2015 U-17 World Cup-winning captain said he is looking forward to live that Arsenal dream next summer, adding that he is ready to accept the stiff competition for places at one of the biggest clubs in the world, if given the chance.
“I love to play for Arsenal next season but coach Arsene Wenger would have to decide that, it is not in my position to decide my fate in the summer,” Nwakali told CSN.
“MVV Maastricht have helped out in developing my career and I have had a nice season here but Arsenal is a great side and it will be an honour to wear that jersey next season, but I cannot really determine if I will be staying back at MVV Maastricht next season or not.”
The Arsenal youngster’s second loan spell at the Dutch second-tier outfit ends this season.
Nwakali is tied to Arsenal until the summer of 2021. MVV Maastricht are ninth in the table with 49 points from 36 matches.

An excellent WC outing, which we pray for, would even make it more difficult for New players to break in.
