I must say that getting America Visa is extremely difficult now especially for those with virgin passport. Even those that have good travel history still find it hard to get Visa. Just in the space of two months three of my friend who are very very comfortable in Nigeria were all refuse Visa. Just today my cousin was deny Visa as well, below is his transcript.

Vo. Passport pls
My cousin : here it is and good morning the vo didn't reply
Vo: were are u going in us
My cousin : Atlanta Georgia
Vo: to do what?
My cousin : for solid mineral conference
Vo: where do u work?
My cousin : ministry of Solid mineral as so so so.
Vo: Are u married
My cousin: Yes
Vo: Do u have children
My cousin : No
Vo: have u traveled before?
My cousin : no
Vo: Sorry it can't be granted now ......blablabla.

So what happened?

Ask your cousin to also show you a copy of the DS 160 data. Most times the decision is based on the data entered into the DS 160 form. The US immigration law is such that if the VO is not convinced that the applicant will leave USA at the end of the visit they are more than empowered to deny the applicant.

I wonder why most of us are even making these VO's / consulates overly important. If US visa officer says no to me I'll gladly go to another country. I'll only feel sad if their decision brings about a loss to me (e.g scholarship, fellowship, job losss.... ) . Otherwise if it's vacation we all have many more options.

On the other hand what makes it more difficult for some genuine travelers is that Nigerians have a history of overstaying their visas and immigrating through the non-immigrant visa route. Citizens of countries like South Africa dont usually encounter such difficulties and the duration of the visas issued to them is usually longer than the 2 year M-entry visas granted to Nigerians

A question just popped in my head. I hear its hard to find Hausas that reside in Canada or US. If you do they are students and usually return home after studies. How true is this? I believe this is a good place to ask the question.

Please how many days to get back passport using dropbox?I mean from the day the passport was dropped?
Is it in all situations that you will be advised of passport being ready for pick up via email?
Is the email sent during the day or late ate nights?

If you have waited for about 10 days, i think you should go to DHL and check. I submitted on the 9th, and I didn't get any email or message, but I decided to check today and it was there.

I attended US interview on Monday with my family and the visa were granted to 5 of us but to my surprise my 3rd child passport was not released and the embassy is yet to get across to me. Though on his passport his surname is a compound name (my first name and surname) while others are sharing the same surname with me. can this be the problem and how long should I wait for them before I contact them

They will tell him they cant fix it i had same issue once ago but u can try, they always believe maybe he wants to sell the date for a new name or something
Pls explain how you sorted yours out.
The mistake is on the appointment form which had my name rearranged I.e my surname had my first name filled on it and omitted my surname.
All other forms including DS-160 were correctly filled.
Kindly share your experience.

I respect that the US is a world leader, makes me jealous and wish Nigeria is a world leader also.

They've changed civil rights and domestic and family laws in US.
When are polygamists going to get their own rights for God's sake? After im dead....

There is no a database that keeps track of Hausas coming and leaving the US or Canada?
Therefore, what you heard is just hearsay and not proven facts.

By the way, do you know if the Hausa language is the same in those different countries: Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Chad, Togo, Ghana, Sudan, Gabon and Senegal

Hello,
Pls advise on the below.
Normally, i should do a drop box visa renewal but I decided to go for the Interview again & schedule the appointment with my brother as we both intend to visit our sister this summer.
Pls I'll like to know if I can book an appointment with my younger brother since we're travelling together as a family.
Is this a good decision as I feel the good usage of my previous visa(used it twice & both usage was less than 3weeks) can convince the consular we dont intend to stay back and can give him a stand to get the visa as well.
Kindly advice.

Good point.
When the US visa becomes a do or die, then it doesn't seem like a vacation

It’s actually kind of true. I live in the US, and I’ve lived here for a while. Lived in s couple of states and travelled widely among the 50 states. I’ve only encountered 2 Hausa person, whereas I’ve met tons of Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Urhobo, Benue and a while lots of tribes. Rarely Hausas. Rarely. Even the one I met was born here. His parents and siblings are back home. Ive met a couple of Hausa speaking people tho, but most were Benue, Plateau and Yoruba people who grew up in the north.

I am curious. Is there anyone who or who knows anyone that got issued a B1/B2 visit visa recently while having a pending immigrant visa application with uscis. I have read in the past the chances are slim but there are possibilities. I would like to know from anyone’s experience in recent times.

The reason is simple, the Hausas cannot overstay in the USA or reside in western countries. because those countries don't welcome nor encourage polygamous family (eg) 2 wives or more, that is why they run away from staying permanently in these countries. they prefer the suffering here not that they're happy being here but religion and 10 wives mentality is they undoing. my 2 cents.

How is religion an undoing? There are tons of Muslims in the US. TONS. And not all Hausa people are Muslims. Neither are all of them polygamous.

Yes, there're Tons of Muslims in the USA but they're not Nigeria Northern Muslims that are obsessed with marrying as many wives as possible.

Those TONS of Muslims in the USA are they with many wives of just one? that's what Nig Northern Muslim cannot do with.

That's is the major reason they don't travel to western countries for permanent resident. the Northern Christians have no issue staying anywhere, argue with ur keyboard.

Is that a good enough reason... sorry to say this but I think your view of Northerners or Hausas is coming from an ignorant view/reasoning and if you're well versed in social interaction you will know that it's easier for them to over stay in Middle East than U.S.

There goes bigotry in action. Its a shame how you can just sit and conclude for a whole community like that.
A whole lot of the educated Huasas are not polygamous...do your research well before attacking!
Hausas are just not so concerned with such lifestyle and mostly prefer to be going on vacations.

Please I want you to help e explain this to me..- I went to the American Embassy last year ..i answer all the questions correctly ..the VO asked if I was married I said yes and she asked if I have kids I said yes...I told her my sons age..Next question the VO asked where is your son? I said she with my wife...she looked at my and repeated the question again and I answered same thing. Next she gave a pink paper and said I should try again

Please help me out

First Bolded
You meant you answered truthfully.

Second Bolded
On the question where your son is, when it was repeated you should have known something was amiss, with your response.
Saying your son is with your wife, could be interpreted so many ways:
- it could mean you're not living with your wife and she's the one responsible for your son's financial needs
- it could also portray you as a rude person or an arrogant.
"He lives with me here in Lagos (or wherever)" would have been more appropriate.
