Both men where not creative soldiers. Nigeria has never had any creative soldier other than those who stood at the opposite side. Thinking of the fact that those men hard superior foreign commanders, advisers and machineries but the war still lag on of 30months against poorly equipped rebels and only ended when starvation became a weapon of war, depicts the lack of creativity at the time.

Forget that crap, but sides got foreign aid, or do you believe that shyt that Biafrans made those tanks & modular refineries. abeg put ur smartness to good use

Alabi-Isama is one of the salient but finest the Nigerian Army have ever produced. His exploits during the Nigerian-Biafran civil was was legendary esp.in the 3rd Marine Commando sector.
That was why he was able to rubbish the junk OBJ wrote in his "My Command" book. How OBJ government unceremoniously disgraced him from the army is an enigma I'm still trying to unravel.

Fact !! '' The Tragedy of Victory ''is a book everyone should read.

If you were gowon, what would you have done differently. Gowon went for the dialogue to made sure the war never occured. But just like every other igbos, priortizing money as their foremost agenda, Ojukwu ignored the consequences of declaring Biafra.

A logical General would have evaluated, accessed and analyzed his military powers to know if it'll be in his favor before making move.

When money is involved, an average Igbo loses their sense of reasoning..that is why they'll never cease pushing coke to death zone like Malaysia and indonesia.

I'm not tribalistic, just being factual

which money are you talking about? someone whose dad was the richest man in black Africa. the Queen rode his dad's Rolls Royce when she visited here in 1956. he himself bought such car as a student at Oxford.

had he sold Bonny or Brass like his colleagues on the federal side did to Bakassi

Rawlings said this of him, an African leader who did not take bribe in office

Obj has this greedy attitude of re writing history. He want to be celebrated for he was not after death. When u look at his numerous letters, one would think that he never had the opportunity to rule Nigeria. An assessment of Obj's tenure would revel that he was just a greedy man. We experienced the worst form of electoral riggings during his reign. What about unresolved political assassinations and many others vices.

The morals in the pix will never be learnt by some lazy minded Nigerian youths, instead, they will turn it to tribal war as usual...ish. The motive of the poster I guess, is to bring the memory of the past to the present so as for us to relate with the future, how promising tomorrow can be if we dedicate our life to consistency and focus but THEY won't learn...the GenuineLazyNigerianYouths.

Stop trying to be a typical afonja, double faced and double mouthed.
First of all,d most immediate cause of the war wasn't the Jan 66 coup or the July counter coup.
The immediate cause was the killing of Igbo civilians all over the north which Gowon didn't do anything to stop thereby causing d easteners to flee to their home for refuge.
Ojukwu also accepted and went to Aburi in Ghana at d instance of other African leaders to find a solution to the war.
Agreements were made, only for Gowon to come back home and dishonor his own part at d advice of Awolowo.

And you think using starvation to win your perceived or real enemy isn't creativity at its peak? Think again bro.

That's not Alabi isama. That's Lt.col Ayo Ariyo..front line 3Mcdo commander during the Civil war . He was quite senior to most 3mcdo commanders as he had joined the army as a recruit and was commissioned through the ranks. read the tragedy of victory by Alabi isama.

Chai the victim tribe don dey suffer since 1968. Obasanjo was feasting while the coward warlord was hiding in bunker and escaping to Ghana.

A similar case of another coward and scammer called Kanu who boasted of making Nigeria ungovernable for Buhari is now hiding again when Buhari is going around the world to rubbish the youths and running a clueless administration.

Yes we all know obasanjo is selfish or corrupt at some point.
But sometimes, u av to acknowledge why this guy is still so serious about any issue regarding the unity of this country. He has seen it all, he has fought hard to make d country remain one till date. He has fought wars to accomplish this unity, so he just can't let all d hardwork and energy he and his colleagues expended to come to nought right before his eyes, little wonder he's still dogged wen it relates to any issue concerning the unity of the country.

They say u don't really know the worth of something until u painfully earn it. The younger generation who know little or nothing about all these are d ones who mostly clamour for d division of the country. It's well.
