Me: i stuttered out of nervousness for the first few seconds of my speech, eventually i made my point (he was nodding his head as i was speaking)

2. I actually have an aunt in the us, whom my dad visited last year, but cos of fear, i said i didn't have any immediate relative in the us moreso my conference is in california while she stays in texas.
Pls all the professionals in the house, where do u think i missed it and whats the way forward for me. Thanks

Hello house. I want to share my experience with you all and need some advice too.

My husband and I applied for visa on virgin passports and went for interview yesterday.

We were denied because we didn't prove to have ties to Nigeria which was child.

Now, my husband wishes to reapply, leaving me behind. Of course, to join him after some months hopefully. He is a web developer and has foreign clients. One of his top clients is a versed internet marketer in the US and is ready to provide everything he needs for him to come down to the US and work. Even to the extent of helping him with a work permit when he gets there.

We have sent him an invitation sample and he is working on it. To be honest, hubby wishes to work in the US and his employer is ready to do that for him. Going in with a B1/B2 visa (not work) and begin work permit process immediately.......Do you think he stands chances of approval? He will be applying in a month time.

he cant work on a tourist visa. He's best bet would be to get a job in the U.S from his home country or have his employer adjust his status should he find a job while already in the U.S. on a tourist visa or return to his home country and wait out the processing of his work visa before he re-enters the States. You mind sharing the transcript of how it went?

What ties does this brother of yours have to Nigeria? Any travel history too? You seem to be mostly/mainly counting on your previous visa and its usage as the capital/leverage to getting him the visa, very wrong. He has to qualify on his own first to a large extent, that is most important. Your usage is your own advantage and can only minutely contribute to his advantage if other variables (ties) of his are good.... Don't forget the hurdles are always higher in most cases once the host is an immediate relative!

How did you arrive at that conclusion? Even if you think he's capable, why should he invest so much in you? And if has told he's capable and willing to invest so much in you, do you have that in writing? What does he do for a living?

These are questions you should have answers for.

Thank you so much. Do you know anyone that has done it that way before? Getting an employment visa from the US directly to Nigeria and was able to travel? Getting it is not a problem in his case but to be sure it is allowed. I will share the transcript later

Go with your current visa. No point renewing visas when not necessary. Folks at the US Department of State cashing out on Nigerian visa applicants

From my experience, I just returned from a conference in the USA and work in a higher institution too. Just like you are being sponsored for conference through TETFUND, I stated my employer as sponsor etc.. I applied with a new passport and was issued the visa, no travel history.

Pls apply alone for this time. Applying with your wife after few months of denial is a sign of despiration, I suppose. That you are being sponsored doesn't mean you or your wife will be given visas. Two of my collegues with better profiles and sponsorship for the same conference weren't given visas.

Apply alone for now, prove your worth that you aren't an illegal/intending immigrant! Then let your wife apply months later.

That's what I think o, it may not be good enough.
