Shehu ahead of Agu as DM in Bursaspor. Interesting. Do we still need Agu, considering Shehu’s versatility?

Mikel Agu, another hyped player.

to be honest those lawyers and stupid judges mediating in this Giwa and pinnick case must be very stupid....it goes to show...most of these folks...know nothing about the laws...they claim to know...

even a lay man knows that football matters are to be settled in court of arbitration...

they keep running in circles...why should those dull lawyers and judges at the supreme court referred a football case that has already been settled at the only football court recognised by fifa back to the high court in plateau state....?

are they ignorant of possible fifa sanctions that will result from that move...and still at the end...the government will now have to reinstate pinnick and co and as nff heads...

why do have folks who know nothing at the helm of affiars in these country....
even those with certificates know nothing...

I am seriously angry right now...this giwa guy seems to have enjoyed the supports of dalung(sport minister) and also the last sport minister under Jonathan's government reason for his misbehaviour.

I will galdly want fifa to ban us......
we have missed two afcon as a result of these foolishness.....Giwa really has a strong backing to toil these line...
the effect of these setback is much...because it's gonna affect super eagles corporate sponsorship a little...and also paint Nigerian football in bad light overseas......
i remember the senators mediate on this the last time...and faulted dalung for excerbating this crisis....and now same dalung and his boy wanna drag us back....this is from a man that wanna be plateau state governor....
a man of chaos and anarchy.....
I take exception to the barrage of invectives you have rained down on lawyers and the noble Lords and Justices of our courts. You can make your point without pouring mud on them. The vitriol is inexcusable and unnecessary.

NFF To Get $2m Advance FIFA Payment For Super Eagles’ World Cup Preparations

The Nigeria Football Federation will receive $2m from the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) towards the Super Eagles preparations for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The payment will be an advance from the total prize money due to the NFF for Super Eagles participation at the mundial.
The four other African representatives, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Senegal will also benefit from the gesture.

According to a report on the CAF official website, the decision comes on the heels of negotiations initiated by the president of the continent’s soccer govering body Ahmad Ahmad with the FIFA administration, leading to the exceptional agreement granted on 12 April, 2018.

It follows a decision by the CAF Emergency Committee held on 1 December 2017, and ratified by the CAF Executive Committee on 10 January 2018, to provide exceptional financial support to the five African representatives towards their preparations for the impending tournament in Russia.

“This agreement, for an advance on the financial allocation by FIFA, aims to allow representatives in World Cups to have a harmonious preparation and to settle beforehand the question of bonuses due the players, which in the previous editions of the competitions has led to situations that affected badly the image of African football, with a considerable impact on team performances,” Ahmad stated.

The five teams have thus been directed to contact FIFA.

The Super Eagles are in Group D along with two-time world champions Argentina, debutants Iceland and 1998 semi-finalists Croatia.

Dalung: Abuja Remains First Choice To Host Super Eagles Vs Congo Friendly
By Richard Jideaka, Abuja

Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has insisted that the international friendly match between the Super Eagles and Congo DR in May can only be played outside Abuja if National Stadium is not ready, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
President of Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick had only last week declared that the match will take place at the Adokiye Amasimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt and went ahead to inspect the stadium with coach Gernot Rohr.

But speaking with media after the opening ceremony of grassroots sports festival in Abuja on Monday, Dalung said the idea to play the match in Abuja was to bid the team farewell to the World Cup in Russia and probably convince President Muhammadu Buhari to attend.

“We are looking at Port Harcourt if by then we are unable to complete work at the stadium here in Abuja,” Dalung said.

“As you can see here work has gone far. Port Harcourt remains our Plan B to host the farewell game. The ides is for the players to mop up the blessings and prayers of Nigerians.

“As for the team’s preparation, we are comfortable with the plans and government is also comfortable with the fund we requested and I believe all things being equal, we shall get deserved response as at when due.”

The Super Eagles, who will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland at the Russia 2018 World Cup, will play friendly matches with Czech Republic and England after the DR Congo friendly.

I do not understand the rationale for Abuja or Port harcourt... Why not Uyo that has supported the team through the ups and downs

You mean only fans that went to uyo supported the SE? What about those who couldn't go that far but would have attended every match if they were played in their own state? Let others have a feel too haba, it's nothing serious. Let's see if those who went to the stadium in Uyo to watch actually did so out of support and not because most of the time the stadium was thrown open or subsidized. Abuja or PH is quite okay for the friendly.

Hopefully Ndidi doesn't miss the world cup, but in the event he does, Shehu should step up to the role in midfield.

I would put my money on Etebo. He did well against Algeria in that position and he now plays there for his club.

His height is a bonafide menace for any defence aerially and he is strong on the ball too for someone so tall. The second goal showed his fine ability to hold off pressure and marking and still get off a shot... his first goal was scored with his shoulder. Funny. That height is huge. A fine prospect and he is 25 now (will be 26 in May)

Super Eagles backroom staff apply for visa for Austria World Cup camp

The Super Eagles backroom staff led by chief coach Salisu Yusuf today applied for Schengen visas in Abuja ahead of the team’s final training camp in Austria leading up to the World Cup.

Other officials who applied for the visa include team administrator Dayo Enebi, assistant coach Imama Amapakabo as well as goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu.

The Eagles will head to Austria after their high-profile World Cup warm-up against England at Wembley on June 2.

They will take on Czech Republic, who did not qualify for Russia 2018, on June 6 in their final friendly before the World Cup.

Etebo gets a shout as well.I think we are loaded in the DM position more than any other. Although, sentiments aside, Onazi is not fit to hold down that position. He looks totally out of shape and has lost about 2 yards of pace.He doesn't look a serious player to me these days. Sad but true.

I will rather go to war with Shehu and Etebo if Ndidi is absent. Onazi is an accident waiting to happen. In my opinion

Thank God you are not Rohr, Onazi is one of super eagle players that play his heart out, he came back from injury and was threw back to the starting line up in galatasaray. I'm sure you are one of the peoples that complained about Musa and ighalo.

If we are playing the worldcup final tomorrow Onazi will start if fit
