I think Shehu's versatility is a good omen for Aina's chances in the RB position.

Overhyped player.

But what could be the reason behind Ekong's relegation to the bench? It's baffling and surprising.

I am not bothered much about Ekong going to the bench cos i know his abilities. This is not the first time this will be happening to him. He delivers in the national colours.

Patapa his agent will work out a transfer for him.

But I cannot say same for Mikel Agu.

Rohr is not gonna move Shehu to the DM position because of Aina. The DM is already crowded.

Shehu has been solid and pretty consistent at RB and we need him to carry that into the WC.

Nothing official from Arsenal yet but.....

Nigeria Receive Good News On Russia-Bound Iwobi: Passed Fit After Injury Scare

Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi is in line to play some part in Arsenal's crucial semifinals second leg match of the Europa League Thursday night against Atletico Madrid.

Allnigeriasoccer.com reliably gathered from a source close to the Nigerian international that a fitness test was conducted on Monday to ascertain whether the nimble footed forward can play at the Wanda Metropolitano following the hamstring-related problem he picked up in Arsenal's 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

"Alex will definitely play against Atletico Madrid. He was passed fit on Monday after passing a fitness test," the source who pleads anonymity exclusively told allnigeriasoccer.com .
"He (Alex) is back in training with the rest of the team and will travel with the team to Spain.
"The players know the importance of Thursday's game against Atletico. Its virtually the biggest game for Arsenal so far this season and Alex wants to be part of this big game.''

Iwobi picked up the hamstring injury whilst attempting to control the ball in flight after a long pass by Calum Chambers.

Arsenal's Iwobi wants to win Europa League for Wenger
By Charles Jones

The Gunners head to Atletico Madrid for the second leg of their semi-final with the tie finely poised after a 1-1 draw at the Emirates

Alex Iwobi wants to give Arsene Wenger the perfect send-off by winning the Europa League.
Arsenal face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the semi-finals on Thursday, with the first meeting at the Emirates Stadium having finished 1-1.
If Arsenal were to progress, then Wenger’s final game in charge of the Gunners would be a Europa League final in Lyon on May 16 and Iwobi is desperate to win the competition for the departing Frenchman.

"We are really motivated - especially by what he has done for the club," Iwobi told Sky Sports News .

"We are trying to make him end the season on a high.
"And not just for him but for ourselves as well so we are doing our best to get the result.”

Arsenal head to the Wanda Metropolitano needing to score against one of the best defences in Europe after conceding a late away goal via Antoine Griezmann.

Iwobi is still confident of progressing, even though Arsenal were held to a draw against a 10-man Atletico side after Sime Vrsaljko was sent off early on in the first leg at the Emirates.

"We are very confident,” he added. “We were unfortunate not to get the result we wanted against them in the first leg but we are very confident and believe we can go to the final."

The Nigerian is also optimistic he will be involved against Atletico after picking up a hamstring injury in Sunday’s 2-1 Premier League defeat at Manchester United.

"I believe it is very good. I am still being assessed but to me it is good and I will be okay," he said.

"We will have to wait and see but I believe I will be okay and fit."

Onazi has been one of the most consistent players in the SE over the past 10 years.

He is central to the SE and has to be one if the first names on the team sheet. My opinion is that his agents didn't manage his career properly he should not be playing in Turkey.
onazi 10 years? Actually he joined the national team in 2012
Agree with the rest of your comment plus I would add that onazi is good for the dressing room and brings good team spirit that said dude needs to lose weight sha

I know it's the new coach. My point is on what premise does he consider Ekong not good enough in his first team. An Ekong that makes the Turkish team of the week on a regular basis... One of the key players prior to his appointment.

Eagles Coach Salisu Yusuf Pours Cold Water On Chances Of Junior Lokosa Making Eagles Squad To Russia

The chances of the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League Junior Lokosa of Kano Pillars making the Eagles squad to the World Cup is not looking likely.
Lokosa has found the back of the net 16 times in just 17 games this season after 18 round of matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League. A form which has led to calls from many Nigerians for him to be given a look in by the senior national team.
The former First Bank of Lagos forward has also spoken of his desires to make the squad of the Super Eagles for one of their friendly games before the final list for the global showpiece in Russia is announced.
However such hopes has been played down by the chief coach of the Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf, who is the first assistant to the head of the technical crew of the team Rohr.

“It will be very difficult for any home base player to make the squad to the Russia 2018 Russia except something emergency happens because most of the foreign base players are currently doing well at their various club sides and they qualified Nigeria for the World Cup without losing a game but may be one or two home base players”, Yusuf said while speaking with Sport Radio Birla Fm 88.9.

I’ve been mulling over an Ighalo-Simy two prong attack. At least it looks good on paper.

TheSuperNerd:
His height is a bonafide menace for any defence aerially and he is strong on the ball too for someone so tall. The second goal showed his fine ability to hold off pressure and marking and still get off a shot... his first goal was scored with his shoulder. Funny. That height is huge. A fine prospect and he is 25 now (will be 26 in May)
