The questions benin folk must answer are 3 fold We are learning, it is not about superiority, it is about truth 1. Why did igodomigodo change to Ile Ibinu 2. Why did Ogiso dynasty change to oba dynasty 3. Why were dead Benin kings buried in ife? I am forced to conclude that it is because a foreign group entered the area and began ruling the conquered territory 3 Likes 1 Share |

Moorish: It is the Yorubas that are replacing facts with myths and fables. We Edos don’t want to dwell on myths and fables or else we would be promoting stories of great Igodomigodo where black race started from, where God first touched the earth and the cradle of black civilization. Rather we choose to talk about events that was witnessed and documented and whose impacts is still felt till today. Benin once ruled over Yoruba. Let them deny it as much as they want. It is recorded in books and archives as what was witnessed by foreigners that traveled all over Africa.. Yes Oyo was strong, it had a formidable Calvary but it’s power was only against fellow Yorubas which they conquered and sold into slavery. Benin army was more powerful. Three times they tried to war Benin kingdom and three times they were badly beaten up and warned never to ever venture east of Ife or else they will be invaded You can go research it. It is all in the records. |

The book in this attachment is very illustrative of accuracy of records kept by historians in contact with Bini and Edo. Notice how the author differentiated the two separate societies. In essence saying the Kingdom is owned by a people of non-Edo origin. The BENIN KINGDOM and The Edo Speaking Peoples. 1 Like 1 Share

Moorish:What disgust us mostly as Yorubas are the manners at which these set of people, tries so much to tell lies. Take for instance, Majek Fashek, who grew up in Edo and with his Edo mother. But little did a lot of people knew , Majek was of a Yoruba father and not until he had problem with drug before his paternal family called on important Yoruba bigwigs, who sponsored him for rehab at U.K hospital. If the man had died before the era of accessibility to internet, a lot would have thought he is Edo,the way I had thought in the early 1990s that I saw him in my area at Lagos. The point here is certain information needed be made open before people, who enjoys revisionism manipulate the truth. In as much, we Yoruba show love to some of these Edo people but turn around to insult such privilege, then it is better to expose the truth because of future generation. 1 Like |

Moorish:The Edos online wouldn't answer you because, they have no answer. Many Urhobo were part of Edo community before they migrated toward their present location. And they had only one knowledge of a God called ; Oghéné. Where did Igodomigodo knew about Osá( Oosa/Urisa/Orisa/) which had been in time immemorial with Yorubas? For every word that was exported to Bini, the Edo tried to twist it to suit their folklores. Osá became Osanobua(God) , Olokun, a female goddess in Yoruba pantheon turned to male personality, when the tradition was introduced to Bini. The Edo went as far as claiming, two accounts for the existence of Olokun ,found in Edo. Yet,the Edo uses the terracotta head of the Olokun representative that was dug out in Ule Ufe as the same they use in Biniland. Who then was the reason for the other's civilization? Edo liars online need sheathe their sword and respect Yorubas. Even the Urhobo that share closely but distinct language with Edo find traces of shared words with Edos. The Edo usually referred to Ooni in a corrupt word as (Og)hene which was around 12th–13th century upward until and even by the time they met the Portuguese explorers in 15th century. And this is the same name adopted for God in today's Urhobo land that has been turned to Oghéné as God,which showed Edos were copycat cum revisionists of yoruba words for Owner over all and land .Ooni( Oghene) had no etymology in Igodomigodo until Yoruba arrived. The Edos stylishly tried to cover this up ,out of hatred. Little did the present day Edos online knew John Alfonso d'Aveiro documented that part of history as the Oba of Bini referred to his ancestor as Oghene ( Orni–Ooni) as his father. N.B: This is a platform to share the truth and concocted theories that hold no sway Cheers bro 1 Like 1 Share |

Moorish:Ekalahaderhan isnt real because at least, a great warrior as claimed by Edos would know he had a way to worship God(Eledumare) in the ancient. They dont have anything as such as this in Edoland as regard Odua. Take for instance, Oranmiyan ancestral worship attached to him involves Ram( White precisely without blemish). Odua who was the ancestor of Oranmiyan was also attached to a ram sacrifice as well. For every Ooni, to be crowned ,ram is killed for him. How on earth didn't this happened during Ogiso dynasty?Do they want to lie again about this? These people are bunch of liars and not here to write out the truth simply because a controversial predecessor Oba was made to believed such fairy tale story as if less than 20,000 or more patrilineal descendants of Oranmiyan reside in Edoland can know more than the source at ILE IFE . 1 Like 1 Share |

BabaRamota1980: You have been a senseless comedian from the very onset. Read through your garbage once again and check for yourself if it has any wisdom in it? Anyway, take it or leave it, Ooni is and would always remain the boy of the Oba of Benin. It's too late for you to change that. |

Olu317: You've been beating your foolishness all over the place for too long. Oduduwa is a god to you Yorubas, but he is a son to the Bini. We've told you and would continue to tell you, tell your story from your own perspective and keep off the story of others. You Yoruba are historical cannibals. Yoruba's are the only people in the whole world who do not know their history, but want to tell other peoples own. 1 Like 1 Share |

BabaRamota1980: You people keep beating on water. Bini is a subset of Edo. All Bini's are Edo, but not all Edo are Bini. Same way all Ife are Yoruba, but nor all Yoruba Ife. So readjust your senses. |

steveosaz:Obviously, liars like you will continue to be emotionally attached to Olofin Odua who you all lied and claimed was IZODUWA / IMADODUWA. Which out of the names was your Ekeherladan's name? Oops! I have mentioned three names which are confusing. Are you not all revisionists? These names have no meaning in Yoruba language. The last time I checked , I am the man's descendant, whose descendant are you Mr? Can you know my ancestor more than his descendants and I ? Abeg ,whose is supposed to keep off if not you? Mr lecturer from kingdom of Edo, give me and others evidence that the claimed Odudua was from Igodomigodo. In fact, you Edos don't even know the name of the man ,with your name fabrication for him. Odua has Oriki, does your Izoduwa or whatever name you call him know anything called Oriki? Since, you know the man more than Yorubas, what does Izoduwa mean? Let me list borrowed words by Edos–Bini Kingdom, to proof that the shared word came as result of the civilation you had through contact with yorubas: Can you see your life? Edo 1. Ozo/Ojo–a child born with placenter wrapped around his neck. 2. Okun –Sea Ogun/Oguum–god of Iron 3. Oloi–first wife of Oba( confusionim at the highest order)Olori 4. Osafomé–God has released this to me(gave me)Osafunmi 5 Agan–Barren 6.Aye–world 7. Olokun- in Edo was said to have two version, which one is correct? Is it There was a hunter that resided in Urhonigbe ( near Benin City ) in Edo/Bini Kingdom or In Evboesi , there was a boy named Omobe (rascal , troublesome child ) that had great physical ability and was trained to be a wrestler? Edo revisionists online are 5 and 6 to lies. 1 Like 1 Share |

I GAVE UP TALKING TO THESE YORUBA FOOO.OOLS A LONG TIME AGO; They just keep trying childish scams and posting fake maps and using fake logics while confusing myths with reality. They seem quite obsessed with claimming most historical archievements of Benin Empire as belonging to yoruba while denying the rest. What do you say to fooo.ools who claim that your blood belongs to them ? What do you tell a begger who comes to your doorstep to tell you the house you built with your own hands on your own land belongs to him ? By the way, bro, did you notice how the ooni of ife is trying to copy Benin Bronzes ? (He keeps dashing out bronzes casted in the same style as those stolen from Oba palace by the british). Also did you notice that the ooni of ife went to london around a year ago and I think he was trying to claim Benin bronzes because he was asking for "artefacts" to be returned. yoruba are a shameless group of thieves. steveosaz: |

Olu317: Your lack of common sense is what prevented you from realizing that Edo is not Yoruba and so your theory of oriki is absolutely nonsensical and insane. For your information, Izoduwa means I choose the path of wealth. If in all you claim to know about the Edos, you cannot even know what a simple Izoduwa means, then that again confirms you to be a thieving, dishonest historian.Stop creating phantom confusions anywhere, the Edo records are very ear. Unlike the usellly disjointed rubbish you people keep fishing out. |

My brothers from benin. We need not insult one another @steveosaz and @prolog2 If you can give me definitive answers to these questions, then I am sure we can agree on scholarly truth 1. Why did igodomigodo change to Ile Ibinu 2. Why did Ogiso dynasty change to oba dynasty 3. Why were dead Benin kings buried in ife? Number 3 is very weird and the benin theory does not add up. So a benin monarch (Ekaladerhan) died in a foreign land (ife) which he now rules. So now, his sons who reigned in his homeland(benin) must be buried in ife the foreign land?? This is unrealistic if you follow the benin theory. I think it was oba ewuare who ended this tradition of burial in ife. It does not sound reasonable. If the benin hypothesis was the truth, even odduduwa would have been buried in benin, his original homeland, and subsequent kings of benin would also be buried in benin. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

I generally don't discuss myths. I discuss things which have proofs or proofs of the contrary. I debate based on logics and facts. These stories are mere myths. You know your problem is that you are having a discussion based on emotions. You should be discussing based on rational thought. I don't give a rats ass about who subdued who. I research the history of my people and accept it as it is in order to know who I am and where I am coming from. I don't validate claims untill I see proof. I have no emotional attachement to passed outcomes. I do not wish to change the passed (on paper) to favor my ego. Stop asking me questions about myths. As I said, I do not discuss myths ! Moorish: |

Moorish:Yoruba didn't try to capture Bini because she was baby to the larger Yoruba States . A struggling descendants of Oranmiyan couldnt have attacked . Princes dont fight themselves except in those era. Their crowns are their identities. As it was in the beginning that Oranmiyan captured Igodomigod , Bini had always been seen as a cousin to Yoruba. And again, Oyo was the major Empire, while some provinces and states paid tributary to Oyo. And these people did this because of the military might and organization of Oyo. |
