Please see my reponse after @solitin40 asked/advised. Thanks. I have checked the SOL list ,chemistry is there but cannot apply PR for the independent visa class 189 or even 190 & 489 .the visa class it can apply for is 186 which is Employer nomination meaning an employer must nominate you before you can apply, and such employement are hard to get. Thats the reason I considered school . I want to ensure the course I am choosing will be deemed related to my first degree. What do you think? . Michaelamo: |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Michaelamo: 10:39pm On May 10, 2018 |
nonsam1: I'm really sorry about that. I only have idea on PR process, I don't know the " chemistry" related occupation you checked on the list. But if none could work for you, then the school option is very ok. I need to know your profile and the choice you want to choose for your masters in order to know if it's related. Cheers mate. |

My profile is chemistry BSc.Been working as a chemist and laboratory officer in the last 5 years now which some jobs are analysing environmental stuff s like water...soil...chemical products for 5. Now was considering masters in environmental related field so I want to verify if it will be deemed related field especially by visa officers.Or if I must go for a masters in chemistry as someone said you do a masters in line with first degree. Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Michaelamo: 11:33am On May 11, 2018 |
nonsam1: I don't really know how this school thing works. But going by the norm, if a school gives you admission to study, how is the relationship of the course a concern for the visa officer? I have a friend who did chemical engineering first degree and he is doing his masters in environmental engineering on Griffin University Queensland. Can we say these two are actually related? If he was accepted, I believe yours should be accepted as well. Again, the idea is to study a course that's in demand for PR. I think that should be the major concern. |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Cottyekundayo(m): 1:17pm On May 11, 2018 |
Michaelamo:OGA, the relationship of the course is a big concern to CO ; And there is a link between chemical engineering and environmental engineering. Once I read on this thread an applicant studied geology or so for bachelors, and applied for masters of social works.... Em eyes open @ last. |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Cottyekundayo(m): 1:19pm On May 11, 2018 |
horlakay: Bros, you need go do serious homework on your own, instead of coming here to ask these kinda Q. Familiarise yourself with the migration skilled list, then visit the engineers Australia website to check for the accreditation of the course and also the details of the migration skilled assessment. Just to give you a heads up on your question... This Aussie government can not guarantee shii. Just be proactive and have a plan! Ire O |

nonsam1:I posted a comment on your post and you ignored. Well It won't cost me anything to post another. If naija community strong for here whether by student or pr e no bad. Well, you should know what you want. Do you want PR or you really want be professional in your career. While both of em de doable, you need align your plans to fit the other. Familiarise yourself with the migration skilled list, after which you fit Know werin to do Abi masters to come do. That list is subject to change by the end of finay year (June 30,2018) The masters of teaching weyw I recommend is based on the demand for teachers especially in STEM courses, if you write a remarkable sop I don't see why it won't fly... Plus, if you look well, some schools give scholarships on that. |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by horlakay(m): 1:49pm On May 11, 2018 |
Cottyekundayo:thanks baba , i saw production and plant engineering on the list, however i cannot but wonder if manufacturing engineering and production are the same. the school am applying to accepts deposit that why am limited to them, because i cannot afford to pay half of my tuition which is about 18k. ] |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by nonsam1: 2:06pm On May 11, 2018 |
Thanks for this. Good course especially for PR.I am also interested in master of teaching but my concern is will the Vo not say why teaching when I have been in chemistry all this while and studied chemistry in first degree. Except they grant visa for teaching. Irrespective of first degree. quote author=Cottyekundayo post=67457884] Master of teaching, secondary.
|
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Cottyekundayo(m): 2:14pm On May 11, 2018 |
nonsam1: That's where your SOP comes in. Sell yourself mate. So the masters of teaching, what will you be teaching if not chemistry? You want to tell co you will be teaching Yoruba ni? Or shorthand? Check the unis offering masters of teaching, look at what they have described as expected outcomes. I have a friend studying masters of teaching, his first degree is industrial mathematics; not even mathematics ... That's why I said master of teaching secondary... Not primary. If you choose primary now, mean say you no know werin you de do. But chemistry na secondary school subject. N/B you don't have to follow my recommendation. |

Be like na english just be the problem for here, me kinda nor see difference. But then, you are a professional. You will be asked to write career episodes for engineering assessment with EA. Usually, your bachelor is assessed but your masters can make everything easier so long it's accredited and once your episodes align with the roles of a production and plant engineer, then skilled assessment issagoal. |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by nonsam1: 2:21pm On May 11, 2018 |
I did not ignore .I actually replied but did not deliver before I left network coverage area. Thanks for the advise. Want PR as that's my priority not career but ensuring I don't apply with a course that will be an issue before the VO. Have looked at the skilled list well before asking my questions. Teaching is good and I really will like to do that but my concern is will VO not say why teaching after chemistry having my first degree and work experience in chemical field. Cottyekundayo: |
