Information should be available to everyone not just members of the whatsapp group. What is the purpose of this whatsapp group that cannot be achieved using this forum if I may ask?

I'm glad someone finally addresses it. If those who started this thread resulted to forming whatsapp groups, we wouldn't have had anything to fall back to. Honestly, I'm yet to see the benefit of having a whatsaapp group. Most times, some people use such groups to brag and show their abilities. You gain little or nothing. Later in the day, I will write some tips and tricks that will aid anyone who desires to score above 160 on the Quant.

Hello fall 18 hopefuls and fall 19 aspirants, i have been going through every detail on this thread and I have benefitted from every bit of it and hope to still keep benefitting from it.
I would like to share a bit of my experience in hopes that this may motivate fall and spring 19 applicants.
My application status is as follows:
UCSC - Ms Applied economics and finance Admit (4k funding)
UIUC - Ms Finance Admit
NCSU - Ms Financial Mathematics Reject
RPI - Ms Quantitative finance and risk analytics Admit
UNCC - Ms Mathematical Finance Pending
OKSU - Ms Quantitative Financial Economics Admit (Full ride as an RA)
Stevens Tech - Ms Finance Admit (10k funding)
Illinois Tech - Ms Finance Admit

I would normally have thought I had a low profile compared to what I have seen on here, but from what I have learnt so far, each applicant is peculiar and Gods favour accounts for much more.
I gave gre a go but was not close to my target score (156Q 155V 4AWA). Regardless of this I stuck to my timelines and worked on other aspects of my applications. I am forever grateful to my recommenders and sop reviewers, it helped cover some of my shortfalls, My personal experiences, work experience also helped a great deal. I wanted to outsource the SOP thing but while I was doing that I was required to write something on my background, before I knew it I had written over a page and I was only halfway done. At that point I decided to write it myself. I hoped and prayed after applying and before I knew it admits started rolling in.
My advice is research on your schools, have a target gre score (get at it and don't be like me), have a plan and timeline for every bit of the application requirement and stick to it. Augment your profile with the God factor.

GPA: 3.4/4 (3.96/5 9ja)
W.E : 2 years (relevant to some of the coursework)
Publication: None, tho, I helped with a journal

I recently passed out from the nysc scheme sir. l v a few questions though, what is the validity period (in Years) of the GRE exams? or is it yearly like jamb? do I need it to apply for these schools and what portal or site did u use in applying to these schools? thanks

GRE scores are valid for five years. Please check femi312 posts for detailed information on applying to the US. Also reading this thread from page 1 will be quite rewarding. If you have more precise questions after then,please post it here.

My brother, material is not even a problem. It was here on nairaland that I got all the needed materials beyond what B.Y Maffit could even give (Soft copy) I can send them to you if you need them. I got them all for free. I can't imagine paying 90k in the name of getting free materials. Difference is more than clear. Moreso; if I had paid 90k for this exam I would have been more tensed preparing for it

wow.great work here. after receiving love letters from erasmus scholarship applications, i have seen that taking the gre will help matters for fall 2019. my issue is that am not good in maths. can one with a social science background sm,ash the gre? am interested in applying for a masters in peace and conflict studies, international developement, or international relations. with the discussions i v read so far, it seems one cant get funding in usa without the gre. so i want to be sure if i can study on my own and do well or must i enroll for classes?
