Still on the “US is overrated matter” grin

In the US, if one doesn’t have a college degree, that person is much more likely to live in poverty than one who has a college degree.

The poverty rate amongst non-college graduates is 30%, while that of college graduates is less than 5%.

Me I don't want to involve myself b4 in did USA argument. No matter aw overrated USA might b

if you want to talk to somebody, be man enough to quote the person to drop your nonsense.

So, because US is an economic hub, we should all bow down and worship? US is overrated, I feel the same way about Lagos and Abuja when you bring it down to Nigeria. Not everybody is concerned about economy when they look at places they like to stay. Some of us are more interested in relative peace and less drama.

You wey dem born there, you no go like help us the less privileged reach there to see the US you are so proud of?

Boasting about another man's land, but same you is out here dragging people who bear the white man's name. What is the difference between you and them?

Nonsense hypocrite.
The US is not overrated except it's your own personal opinion (which does not accord with the facts). First thing to note is that the word overrated means that it is given more credit than is due to it. It's a comparative word. For every possible important indices you can think of the US will either be in the first ten or it would fare averagely.

So what's your basis for saying that the US is overrated?

Omanbala1 wasn't being hypocritical. He knows that inspite of his personal opinions on blackman and white man issues he cannot deny that the US is a top top nation. To deny it would be plain ignorance or mischief.

Bro I get the subtle overtones of your writings. Let me put it out straight: the black man is sick. What the sickness is I can't say, what the cure is I equally don't know but what I know is that the consciousness of the black man is diseased.

He is not 'just a back-up". I feel he is a better player in that role. Anything can happen and Ebuehi is your first choice. Oshaniwa was 'just a backup' in Brazil but played all the games.

Honestly tbaba1234 is d guy I respect the most here. Dude knows how to handle almost everything in here. Most times I come here just to read his updates while I scroll every other moniker. Sometimes I read other posts mainly from the rational ones, but I try to avoid Southy and Da Saint often bkus their posts bug my bowel. I was a very good fan of Icon4s but he seems to be towing same line as Da Saint recently. It annoys me when I come here to see Gates and Da Saint shouting those weird names and their conspiracy theories while Icon4s go camp for another corner dey berate Awaziem and Uzoho.

TheSuperNerd:
The opinion of an Irish fan on twitter:

@a_lynskey96 (Andrew W Lynskey)

"I’m not even Nigerian in any way but I want them to win the World Cup or atleast get as far or further than Ghana did in 2010, the Nigerian team is full of youth, experience, speed and good defensive power, the likes of Ndidi, Moses, iheanacho, Iwobi and big John Obi Mikel will master the pitches in Russia in front of mixed emotions."

He added further down that Tweet's thread:

"Idk, but i like Nigeria, good people and great players like Obafemi Martins and Kanu." (This was in response to being asked if he has any Nigerian blood).

"Plus the nickname super eagles just sounds so superhero like, like ye know ye are going to dominate with your teams."

"All I know is that I’m supporting them in the competition, and you know the hope for England to be knocked out(the irishness in me wants this to happen). But i do plan on going there at sometime in my lifetime just to see what’s in the water and food that makes the players great."

That's it folks, yet another foreigner rooting for the Super Eagles big time

Watched a FIFA world Cup documentary on Supersports yesterday and they described the 1994 World Cup as the best edition since inception. They said it had the best followership across the globe. Oldies in the house, please can you shed more light on this assertion?

Personally, that was the very World Cup!

To me maybe because of Nigeria's participation. There is something differently special about that WC.

Right from the quality and standard of player to the quality of the venues and also the timing. Venues for USA 94 set the stage for modern WC stadium designs. Most games were played between 9 and 12pm GMT, which is the prime time of TV viewership across Europe and Africa. That will also co-incide with Afternoon to Early evening in North and South America and Early the next morning in Far East Asia. So you got the whole world watching at very convenient times.

People stayed glued to their TV sets to see their Super Stars and heroes as the tournament was best attended by a host of Super stars! I don't think I have seen such quality of players packed in one tournament ever since. It also marked the end of an era of big name footballers of the 1980s. All top footballing nations except England and France were present. The standards of participating teams were so high. I still feel if we had presented the quality of our Super Eagles then in this recent WC we would at least get to the semis.

The 1994 WC was the very WC.
